Homecoming: Show Your Stuff

Here is a riddle. What does every col-
lege do? That happens in the fall?
Where you show your school spirit?
Give up? HOMECOMING. That’s
right homecoming and U of L will be
taking part in this time-honored tradi-
tion this week.
Before we get in to activities, one of the
biggest bragging rights for a student is
being on homecoming court. This year
there are two Speed students that are
nominated. They are Brent Hurst and
Joey Gordon.
Brent is an Industrial engineering stu-
dent. He is also majoring in Dentistry.
He is also involved with the Louisville
American Student Dental Association
and is the Dental School Class of 2010
President
Joey Gordon is a fourth year electrical
engineering student who is involved
with Speed School student council and
IEEE.

So of course the Homecoming court
shows school spirit, so how can you?
There is the annual Foam Party where
you can suds it up and have some fun.
This year for the first time there will
also be a Balloon Glow over on the
Shelby Campus. Here is a list of some

Speed School Society Cup: Shiny Things. This year will mark the inaugural year for the
Society Cup. Developed in the spring of 2006 by the

 Society Funding requests. Speed School Student Coun-
cil can serve as a liaison for your society in the Student
Government Association, provide assistance in gather-
ing funds for conferences and travel, provide publicity
for events, and at the very least direct you to the proper
person that can handle your society's problem(s).
Each year, the Speed School Student Council
will sponsor the Society Cup and award the winning
society the glory and possession of the engraved Soci-
ety Cup. At the end of each year's competition the tro-
phy will change hands and the name of the new winner
will be engraved on the cup. The winning society will
also receive a GUARANTEED funding request (up to
$150) from Speed School Student Council for a society
event to be held on UofL's Campus.
Finally, something to gloat about that isn’t in

• Week 1 (week of Oct 2): Field Day Night mini-
mum of 5 people, max of 12

• Week 2 (week of Oct. 2nd): Kickball Tourney-
must have 8-10 players on field. If multiple teams are
entered, they will play each other in the preliminary
rounds. The locations has not yet been decided

people) Same rule for multiple teams
Week 4 (week of Oct 16th): Bed Race (mandatory for
points). the rules are the same as the Kentucky Derby
Festival Bed Race . The winner of this event will be
sponsored in the 2007 Kentucky Derby
Festival Bed Race
Week 5 (week of Oct 23rd): Community Service Activ-
ity (mandatory for points) . Points are based on the
percentage of the chapter in attendance
Day of Fall Festival: Jousting Tournament, Monkey
Bike Time Trials. Awarding of Society Cup
An application for the April 2007 administration of the Fun-
damentals of Engineering exam is available on the Kentucky

The application deadline is February 1, 2007.
The exam will be given on Saturday, April 22nd.
Speed School is planning to offer the FE review
course. Information about the course will soon be available
on the bulletin board outside JB Speed Building room
216. Information will also be included in a future
edition of the Speed News.

Chicken Nuggets
with
Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
INGREDIENTS
2 cups crushed sour-cream-and-onion- flavored potato
chips
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
6 chicken breast fillets, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
1/3 cup butter, melted
Honey Mustard or Ranch (your preference)
PROCEDURE
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Spread the crushed potato chips in a shallow dish.
Beat together the egg and milk in a shallow bowl.
Dip the chicken cubes into the egg mixture and then
dredge them in the chips.
Place the chicken nuggets on a baking sheet and drizzle
with melted butter.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown.
The chicken nuggets can be frozen after baking.
Serve with your favorite sauce, such as honey mustard
or ranch dressing.

2006 Graduates

Student Affairs announces that ACCESS (Adult
Commuter Center/ Evening Student Services)
now is called Commuter Student Services. As a
result of a survey presented to commuter stu-
dents last spring, we have changed our name to
better reflect the students we serve. We are still
located in Room 105, Davidson Hall, and offer a
lounge, study space and computer labs to the
entire university community. Hours of operation
are 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday - Thursday and 9 am -
2 pm on Fridays. For more information email

Hello!
You asked for it and you got it! Through the sur-
veys you filled out a few weeks ago we added what you
wanted. That’s right you asked for more games and we
have added them. I hope you enjoy!
On another note I hope that your school spirit is in
full gear...homecoming is just around the corner so get
ready for all of the exciting events!!
One of the most exciting things about fall are all of
the haunted houses. This past weekend I had the change
to visit a haunted corn maze. It really got me ready for
the haunting season!!
I hope everyone has a great week. Oh by the way,
Ben and Brandon, I sorry about being late to the meet-
ing, I promise I will be on time this week.
