Saraswati Sen is an admired name amidst the devotees of Sitaram. This lady, a simple house wife of a middle class family from Kolkata is famous for her spontaneous poetry on Thakur and his surroundings. She has been widely respected among Thakurs devotees for her states of bhava or religious emotion. Her education was very limited and her writing skills were minimal. Yet she had penned a little over !! poems. Her poems often carry a deep sense of spiritual and illumining understanding from a diverse range of spiritual and poetic e"pression. Today we will share one such beautiful incident which happened some thirty five years back in the month of #arch sometimes in the mid seventies. $s was the custom, devotees from all parts of the country would beeline before #ahimananda %i &Tarak 'a ( to arrange a visit &)adadhuli( of our Thakur at their respective residence. *ften they had to wait for months+. even years. ,t was past midnight, Thakur was traveling on -,SH.$/)01# &The black $mbassador with a broad bold Shree painted neatly on the front glass(. 2ew more cars were there in the convoy. They had 3ust left )rof Sailen 4hattacharyas &The renowned $strologer 5 )rofessor of humanities at 6ovt 7ollege( abode at Sovaba8ar. The ne"t stopover was to be at 'r 9ihar 7hatter3ees villa at South 7alcutta. -,SH.$/)01# was running fast on the deserted roads of 7alcutta. ,t was pitch dark all around. The only sound audible was the barking of the street dogs. Suddenly Thakur, who had been in a state of trance for the entire evening, sretched his hand on the drivers shoulder and asked him to take a right turn down the ne"t narrow lane. 1very one in the convoy was surprised. .here does Thakur e"actly want to go: Sharanananda &4haskar( gathered all his courage and asked 4aba amra kothay 3abo: Thakur had only a mysterious smile to offer. #uch to others ama8ement -,SH.$/)01# halted in front of a small gate of a small household. .ell, before the others could help themselves out of the car, #aster was at the doorstep, rattling the latches and voicing aloud #aa, *h #aa, Khol Khol+'ar3a Khol; The lady indoor came running to the doors and opened it. She 3ust could not believe her own eyes. Her 'eity+. Her <ord +Her #aster +The $tmaram S,T$0$# was standing in front of her = at the very door of her own house. So great was her ama8ement that she stood spellbound for a minutes. ,t was again Sitaram himself who guided her to the formal chores. %aa +%aa ..%aal niye aye , paa dhuiya barir bheterey niya chaal. 9ow Saraswati Sen had come to her senses. She now could indeed believe her own eyes. Sitaram Himself had come to her humble shelter +even without a formal invitation. ,t was one/o/clock midnight. .hat a historic moment; The handful of the chosen ones stood testimony to this wonderful 4hakta 4hagawan <ila on the dingy lane of %orabagan at 9orth 7alcutta. %ust to have a glimpse of whom, tens of thouasands flock to distant #aths 5 $shrams> %ust to have his footfall at ones own residence, the high 5 the mighty wait patiently for months, He the spiritual master of lakhs+. of people all around the globe, reached out to a narrow by lane of the city, waiting to meet a devotee who could never ever even dream to host beloved 4$4$ at her humble residence. The 6riha 4adhu is now in her trembling seventies. <ocked into the very room where her 4$4$ paid a midnight visit. She can no longer fre?uent the #aths 5 $shrams which she used to, all across the country. Her only company is her !! stan8as> all making her remember those divine moments He had left some thirty years back. 0ecently all of her poems were compiled 5 published in a book titled 4hakti )ushpan3ali. Her grandson 4abul Supriya, &famous vocalist of 4ollywood ( who too is an admirer of Thakur, took the initiative to publish this uni?ue book of poems. The frail lady still insists that 3ust as her 4aba made a surprise visit to her residence, &rattling the doors himself(, in the midnight way back in seventies> her 4aba will drop in once again and this time to take her 4eti back with him to his heavenly abode of Sitaramlok.
