Analytics are available throughout Oracle Sales Cloud as embedded analytics and also in a standalone flavor by way of the transactional work areas. Administrators can create custom reports in either BI Answers or BI Publisher. BI Composer is the tool for users to do their own self-service report creation. For more information about these tools, see Oracle Sales Cloud Reporting Tools on page 12. The access points for reports are by way of the embedded analytics on work area pages as well as the Reports and Analytics pane and the Reports and Analytics work area. For more information about the Reports and Analytics pane, see About the Reports and Analytics Pane in Oracle Fusion Applications on page 8. For more information about the Reports and Analytics work area, see About the Reports and Analytics Work Area in Oracle Cloud on page 10.

Figure 2.
The Reports and Analytics pane in Oracle Fusion Applications provides a central place for you to view or run any operational or analytical report relevant to your work. The pane is available in work areas across Oracle Fusion Applications and contains links to reports specific to the work area. You can also use the Navigator to go to the Reports and Analytics work area, which contains links to all reports that you have access to. For more information about the Navigator, see About Using the Navigator in Oracle Cloud Services on page 9. For more information about the Reports and Analytics work area, see About the Reports and Analytics Work Area in Oracle Cloud on page 10.
Report Links
Each link in the Reports and Analytics pane is generically referred to as a report and represents a mapping to an object in the Oracle Business Intelligence Presentation Catalog (BI Catalog). The catalog contains reports and analytics in Oracle Fusion Applications and presents them in an organized hierarchy. For more information about the BI Catalog, see About Using Embedded Analytics in Oracle Sales Cloud on page 11. In the Reports and Analytics pane, business intelligence analyses are of type Analysis, business intelligence dashboards are of type Dashboard, and Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher reports are of type Report.
Oracle Sales Cloud Reporting and Analytics About Using the Navigator in Oracle Cloud Services
Reports can be mapped to one or more work areas for the Reports and Analytics pane, so you might see the same report in different work areas. You can also have multiple instances of the same report in one work area, but with different parameters. In the Reports and Analytics work area, you can have links to the same report in multiple folders, as well as multiple instances of the same report in the same folder, but with different parameters. TIP: You can access the catalog directly from the Reports and Analytics toolbar. After you click on a report link in the Reports and Analytics pane, you can also then click the More link to get to the report within the BI Catalog. The catalog is part of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, so from there you have access to all available business intelligence features.

Figure 5.
In the sample Sales Dashboard shown in Figure 5, a sales manager is viewing his pipeline report, opportunity watch, key contacts, and so on. The sales manager can drill down on a band on the pipeline funnel report to view the opportunities associated with that particular sales stage. Or, the sales manager might want to perform follow up actions, such as send e-mail to a salesperson or owner of the opportunity, or add a note to the opportunity. These actions are done within the context of the particular report and the particular opportunity currently viewed. The intent of actionable items is to allow you to perform a followup activity on a particular exception that you notice as part of the report.

Dashboards allow you to add new tabs and content, change the page layout, or even personalize it. To personalize a dashboard, you edit the page, then drag and drop the content from a catalog to include on the dashboard page. Not only can you admit reports as part of a dashboard, you can include reports on other pages such as a transactional page or a work area page. You can also include metrics as part of the functional form. Figure 6 shows an example of related cube metrics for a territory along with a graphical representation of the data in a specialized UI format.
