Ms. Daigles Class Rules

1. Come to Class Prepared.
As a junior in high school, you should be able to recognize the need for being prepared. Being prepared means having your happy packs, notebooks, a writing utensil, and a good attitude.

2. Communicate.
If you feel uncomfortable about anything in class or outside of class, feel free to come and see me about it. I am in room 212 during all OP periods unless otherwise stated.

3. Be Responsible.
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed. When you return from your absence, check your classs slot to find any handouts and the notes from the day. If you missed a quiz or test, you have 3 OP periods to make it up, come see me if that isnt possible and we will work together to find a time for you to make it up.

4. Respect Each Other.

PHS has a zero tolerance policy regarding bullying, as do I. As juniors in high school, I expect you to act maturely. Please think before you do or speak.

5. Have Fun.
Chemistry is a very complex subject but it can also be a lot of fun. Come to class with a good attitude and we will have a great time exploring this wonderful subject. In this class, both good and bad behavior will not go unnoticed. Therefore, here are some rewards and consequences that you can expect to see used in this classroom.

Rewards
For every 10 homework assignments completed, you will receive a homework pass that is redeemable for credit of an incomplete homework assignment.

At the start of each marking period, you will receive 10 bathroom passes. These passes will be turned in to me when you wish to use the bathroom. Alternatively, at the end of the marking period, unused passes can be turned in for extra credit. The passes are worth 2 points each totaling 20 points if all 10 are turned in. These points will be used on the lowest grades you have received. Come finals time, if everyone has their work in on time, we can have a small party, which I will supply pizza for. Other rewards will be given as I see fit.

Consequences
The bathroom passes are a privilege and can also be revoked if I feel that you are abusing the privilege. Cell phones will be dealt with in accordance to PHSs policy. The first time I see it, I will ask you to put it away. The second, I will confiscate it for the remainder of class. The third and any following, I will confiscate it and turn it into the security office where your parent/guardian must pick it up. Any disrespecting of another student that I see happen will be dealt with in the following manner: o First offence: serve a lunch detention o Second offence: serve an afterschool detention with me o Third offence: referral to the principal Any offenses after will result in a referral to the principal. With each offence, I will be calling home to inform them of your actions. Also, a letter of apology must be written and handed into both me and the other student. Any other misbehavior will be dealt with how I see fit.

Classroom Procedures 1. At the start of every class, come in and sit down. Have your homework out on your desk. There will be a sample question on the board, work quietly on it until I began class. 2. At the end of every class, hand in any labs or classwork that were being worked on. Return to your seats and write your homework in your planner. Complete the Ticket Out question and turn it in to me before you leave. 3. The late policy is as follows: Homework can be turned in until the end of the school day for full credit. After that you will have until the end of the next OP period to hand it in for 5 points off.

Quizzes/tests have a 3 OP periods to complete any missed tests or quizzes. Incomplete tests and quizzes will result in a 0. For extended absences, see me and we will work out a schedule that works for you. For any missed labs, see me and we will schedule an OP to come and make it up
