Please join Keego Harbor in its traditional Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 26th. The one mile parade will begin at Abbott Middle School on Orchard Lake Rd, continuing North on Cass Lake Rd, concluding at Keego Harbors City Hall with a ceremony honoring past and present members of the United States Armed Forces and those who serve in the protection of our community. Parade participants are asked to check in by 9:15 AM the morning of the parade. Large groups are asked to carpool to the staging area off Commerce Road behind the Abbott Middle School. The parade will start promptly at 10:00 AM. Staging information will be provided to the contact of each group one week prior to the parade. It is important this information be shared with all individuals participating in your group so that they know their staging location. Parade Marshals will also be onsite at Abbott School to assist. We anticipate a large viewing audience along the parade route. The Parade will be televised live to over 20,000 homes and re-broadcast on Cable TV (Comcast 15). Fox 2 News Sports Reporter Woody Woodriffe will once again team up with Eric Gubka as they narrate the parade for the viewing audience. For maximum recognition we suggest that your group and/or business prominently display your organization and include red, white and blue in your dcor while providing trinkets or candy (wrapped only) to curbside observers, if possible. Although there is never a charge to be in the parade, I ask that you consider making a donation in support of our troops and their families. To participate and contribute, please complete the enclosed forms and return them before May 12, 2014.
