Hole ZFDDH10-42 intersects 66m of 1.03% Cu including 43m of 1.34% Cu Hole ZFRC10-68 intersects 132m of 0.92% Cu & 0.11 g/t Au including 33m of 1.36% Cu Results demonstrate deposit remains open to the North, East and West and at Depth VANCOUVER, B.C. May 19, 2010 - Apoquindo Minerals Inc. (TSX-V: AQM | BVL: AQM) ("Apoquindo" or "the Company") through its wholly owned Peruvian subsidiary, Minera KoriTambo SAC ("KoriTambo"), announces continuing positive drill results from the Zafranal project located in the northwestern extension of the Southern Peru Copper Porphyry Belt near the city of Arequipa. Since January, the company has drilled 44 RC and 48 DDH holes totaling 30,100 meters over a strike length of over 3,500 m. Results to date suggest the deposit remains opens to the North, East, West and at depth. Today, the company reports drill results from 3 RC holes and 3 diamond drill holes. 69 holes of the 92 holes have been announced with further drill results pending. (View Apoquindos drill plan map.) Hole ZFDDH10-33 was drilled 100 metres east of previously reported drill holes ZFRC10-42 (99m @ 0.58% Cu) and ZFRC10-49 (45m @ 0.51% Cu). Hole ZFDDH10-41 was drilled 80 metres north of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-13 (71m @ 1.78% Cu) and shows that the Zafranal Main Zone remains open towards the north along this section. Hole ZFDDH10-42 was drilled 70 metres north of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-7 (118m @ 1.00 % Cu) and 100 metres east of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-40 (146.2m @ 0.52% Cu). Holes ZFRC10-67 and ZFRC10-69 were drilled along section 793300, 170m south and north respectively of the southernmost and northernmost mineralized holes along this section. Hole ZFRC10-68 is a twin hole of Teck Cominco Peru S.A.s ("Teck") drill hole ZFRC04-8, drilled during their 2004 drilling campaign. The results show an increase in grade in the Apoquindo drill hole, both in the lower and higher-grade zones. Below is a table comparing results from these two holes: Drilling through May has focused on a 2km long segment of the 3.5+km eastZFRC10-68 ZFRC04-8 west trending intensely mineralized Main Zone, one of six porphyry copper-gold targets within the Zafranal project. The Company continues an aggressive drill Interval 130-262 (132m) 110-278 (168m) program at Zafranal with the plan to drill 40,000 metres that will include grid Cu% 0.92% 0.78% drilling the Main Zone, testing of the east and west extensions of the Main Zone, Au g/t 0.11 0.10 deep drilling on the Main Zone, and testing several of the satellite targets during Interval 138-171 (33m) 134-186 (52m) 2010. The agreement also provides options for Au g/t 0.05 0.11 KoriTambo to increase its interest to 60% and to 100% if Teck does not exercise its earn-back right The Company has established a rigorous QA/QC program at Zafranal, which includes the insertion of blanks, duplicates and certified standards into the sample stream. Core is photographed on site and subsequently sawed in half, with one half sent for analysis and the other half stored for future reference and assay verification. RC chips are split twice on site using a riffle splitter, with 25% of the sample being sent to the laboratory for assay and the rest stored for future verification purposes. All Zafranal samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's sample preparation facility in the city of Arequipa, where they are crushed and pulverized. Prepared samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's certified laboratory in Lima where they are analysed for gold, copper and multi-element ICP.
