Learning Outcome(s) The learner will write the title of the book onto their handout. The learner will answer four questions realting to situations in the book "Arthur Lost and Found". The learner will listen to the teacher as tey read the book "Arthur Lost and Found" Summary Students will answer four question relating to situations in the particular story the teacher is reading aloud. ASSESSMENTS Assessment/Rubrics The teacher will assess the students by first, visitng students while writing and asking questions about what they are writing and looking for comprehension of the story and question asked. Second, the teacher will assess the students by Page 1 of 2 evaluating them after students have turned them into the in- box. MATERIALS AND RESOURCES Instructional Materials & Technology (handouts, etc.) Book- "Arthur Lost and Found" Handout- Response to Literature blank sheet Pencil IMPLEMENTATION Sequence of Activities 1. Teacher writes the title of the book on the board. "Arthur Lost and Found" 2. Students will write the title on the top of their handout. 3. The teacher will start reading the book and stop four times throughout the book for students to answer questions about the book. 4. The students will listen to the question and have 5-7 minutes to answer the question in the areas provided on the handout. 5. After each writing session the teacher will ring the bell and expect students to have "pencils down, eyes up". 6. After answering the four focus questions and finsihing the book students will turn in their papers to the in- box. Grouping Strategies This is a whole group lesson. Differentiated Instruction When students are writing the title of the book, if they are having diffuculty writing the whoile title the teacher will come and write the rest of the title with highlighter so students can "trace" over the highlighter to complete the title. This helps them practice their handwriting with guidance and this will help them from becoming behind when we start reading. REFLECTIONS Prior to Lesson Post-Lesson Page 2 of 2
