2 Inventory Storage for raw material is placed in a container that is stored in the warehouse that must be kept dry, cool and well ventilated. Container that contains the raw material should be tightly closed, away from heat, sources of ignition, and strong oxidizing agents. Because the demand of this product is not fluctuative or in other word there is no special pattern (only horizontal line) to predict rate consumption of this product over year, we decided only make inventory for raw material that we are used. Generally there are three types of inventory, namely: 1. Cycle inventory Cycle inventory is the number of inventory to meet demand in the period between the purchase of the product. In other words, the inventory cycle is the same as regular production capacity, which is 20 unit of refractometer per day, because we predict that there is no demand fluctuative of this product. 2. Safety inventory Safety inventory is inventory that is stored as a buffer against demand uncertainty. Again because demand of this product is not fluctuative, safety inventory for this plant is only for raw material that we are used in order to keep daily production capacity by some accident that might happen. For the safety inventory, raw materials are ordered equal to 125% more that we are need to maintain normal product capacity. We ordered this for every one year or 3 months production. 3. Sesional inventory Sesional inventory is stored inventory in anticipation of increased demand at any given time. In the production of the refractometer is not expected that there will be a sudden demand due to the number of consumers in this product are relatively fixed. If there is an increase, the rise will not be too significant so that production is not using the refractometer sesional inventory of supply of raw materials that have been described previously, it can be made raw materials inventory scheme as attached in the following table:
