KING
Christ the King Mission Statement
The People of Christ the King in Lombard are a welcoming, vibrant faith community building the kingdom of God through our many ministries. We celebrate our diversity, seeking to realize the gifts of each member of our parish, as we are all joined together under one faith, in a spiritual journey of evangelization, service to others, and a reverence for all life. In the Eucharist, we find new life, and bring this life to others through stewardship, education, and worship.

LENTEN REGULATIONS
1. Everyone 14 years of age or over is bound to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays of Lent. 2. Everyone 18 years of age and under 59 years of age is bound to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. 3. On these two days of fast and abstinence, only one full meatless meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one's needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted on these two days, but liquids, including milk and fruit juices are allowed. When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. 4. To disregard completely the law of fast and abstinence is seriously sinful. 5. Lent is the principal season of penance in the Christian year. All of the faithful are strongly urged to develop and follow a program of voluntary self-denial (in addition to following the Lenten regulations), serious prayer, and a performance of works of charity and mercy.
Come and stand at the foot of the cross at the Aanchor Abortion Clinic, 1186 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn, on Good Friday, April 18, at 9:30 a.m. We will do the beautiful inter-faith Way of the Cross that is being offered by the Pro-Life Action League and is being promoted for abortion clinics all over the country. Where is there a more appropriate place to mourn the suffering and death of our dear Lord than a place where His precious children are being sacrificed?
The parish leadership, pastoral staff and clergy hope that you will embrace the quiet of Holy week and share in the joy on Easter Sunday and throughout the Easter Season. As we all reflect on our years of service to our parish family, we see how you have blest our lives, changed us forever and invited us to walk with you during Lent. Let us pray for one another! A prayerful Holy Week and Blessed Easter Season. Gratefully, Parish leadership, staff and clergy

Prayer for Pastors and the Communities they are Called to Serve
Christ Jesus, you are the Eternal High Priest who watches over and guides our Joliet Diocesan Parishes. In this time of transition for the parishes of Christ the King and St. Ann Parish, may we know that you have a plan for us. You have called Father Peter Jarosz to serve as Pastor of St. Ann Parish and Father Jeff Stoneberg, the new pastor of Christ the King in June. May they know of the support and prayers of the communities they are serving at this time. On the Universal Feast of Corpus Christi give Father Stoneberg and Father Jarosz courage, wisdom, and joy as they begin their new pastor assignments. Thank you Lord for calling these priests to be of service for the Church of Joliet, under the leadership and example of Bishop Conlon. Through Christ our Lord Amen Daily Prayer until Feast of Corpus Christi

The parish leadership was given to an audio CD of Matthew Kellys Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic to listen to. The summation is that Dynamic Catholics have four similar characteristics: Prayer, Generosity, Explore their faith, and the Share their faith. Dynamic Catholics are generous in many areas of their life. They are generous with their time, gifts, and money. They are also generous with their relationships; at home and at work. Christ the King is blessed to have many Dynamic Catholics participating in every aspect of parish life. Lets invite a neighbor to one of our Triduum Liturgies. Our next leadership and pastoral council evening will be on May 6 at 7pm in the Parish Life Center. Eileen Maggiore, Pastoral Associate
