Internship with U.S.

-Based Community Development Ministry working in Haiti Background on Vision of Hope Ministries (VOHM) Vision of Hope Ministries (VOHM) is a church planting and community development organization based in northern Haiti. Our work is centered in the city of Cap Haitien and surrounding areas. VOHM engages in holistic ministry which, under the leadership of Pastor Henoc Lucien, has grown to include four churches; a K-12 school that serves nearly 900 students; an orphanage; and a micro-credit program. We are currently seeking an intern who would like to join us in partnering with this exciting work. The internship position is based in New Orleans, LA but will include regular communication with volunteers and staff in Haiti as well as the opportunity to visit Haiti to see first-hand the work of VOHM. Internship Opportunity As an intern, you will be expected to: Learn and stay informed about the various projects carried out by VOHM volunteers and staff in Haiti Engage in creative thinking about ways to reach new audiences with the story of how VOHM is impacting lives in Haiti Communicate regularly with donors and prospective donors using email, social media, and traditional media to keep them connected to and engaged with the work going on in Haiti Benefits of the Internship Opportunity to travel to Haiti (Expenses covered for one week-long trip, accompanied by the internship supervisor) Experience in international, non-profit community development work Experience with organizational communication (eg. communicating VOHMs mission and keeping in touch with donors) Academic credit Qualifications: The successful VOHM internship candidate will: Identify as a Christian and be excited about the church-planting and faithbased community development work VOHM is doing in Haiti. Be excited to learn more about Haiti and the work VOHM is doing there Have a strong interest in visiting Haiti. Be flexible, patient, and have cross-cultural experience and skills

Have a strong interest in using traditional and social media to communicate with current and prospective donors Be able to devote approximately 10 hours a week to the internship work Be available to meet with the internship supervisor on a bi-weekly basis Be able to commit to the work for one calendar year beginning August 1, 2014 and ending July 31, 2015.
