Modifications for Special Needs Students: 1. I will use the microphone for students who are not able to hear me, and I will use large print for student with vision impairments. Also, if students would like a printed out copy of the notes, or if they missed class, there will be copies of the assignments and notes in the make-up binder. 2. Questions, or concerns, that students are unable to express in class are encouraged to find me before school in my office or after school in my classroom before 4pm. Assessment: 1. As the students are working in their groups I will observe the students to see who is participating in there groups and I will as questions to each group as I walk around the room. I will also answer questions at this time. 2. I will have the student use the color they selected at the beginning of the period to use for each column and have the students highlight there notes using the same two colors for the two topics. Closure: 1. Before the class is over get the students attention one more time to remind them about getting the homework done if they didnt finish it in class, about the test in two days, and tell them to read pages 569-579 and remind the students that the class is easier when the chapters are read ahead of time. (I am not expecting the student to actually do this but it is a good way to remind them what we will be covering the next day.) 2. I will also go over the assignments and have the students fill out their planners.
