It was taught at Morgantown High School which is an older school that has an enrollment of about 1,800 students. This unit was taught over the course of 7 weeks while at the school. The school ran a block schedule that allows for 4 class periods per day that run 90 minutes each with a half hour lunch break. The school used an even and odd day system in which students rotated a different 4 classes each day. On odd days, there were 3 health classes to teach and on even days there was 1 health class to teach. During this unit on illegal drugs, classes were taught using some lectures where students took notes on their handouts each day, and classes were also taught using group work on activities, by watching short educational videos, by student research, and also some role playing skits. During a couple of lessons, students used the library and computer lab to research and make their presentations on illegal drugs. 2. General Long Range Objectives/Goals A.
