Roto Group The future has origins. The family company.

The companys founder Wilhelm Frank was an


inventor, a technician and a businessman.

With his ideas like the first industrially


manufactured Tilt&Turn hardware in 1935 and the worlds first top-hung roof window in 1968 he became a pioneer.

Wilhelm Frank founded the company in Stuttgart


in 1935 and managed it until his death in 1990.

Under his influence and the influence of his


successors, Roto developed from a two-man operation into the international Roto company group.

Roto Group Sign of the times

1935 Invention of the Roto N Tilt&Turn hardware the first industrially manufactured hardware with which a window could not only be turned, but could also be brought into the tilt position (3-handled operation).

Today Roto NT the worlds biggest selling Tilt&Turn hardware system for windows and balcony doors. Perfectly matched to the window and highly adaptable, Roto NT provides with the key to ensuring window production, with a broad range of variants and lean warehouse management.

1968 Development of the Roto roof window. Wilhelm Frank developed the first top-hung roof window worldwide.

Today Roto top-hung/pivot roof window. Since the market launch in 1994, the energy-efficient, easy-to-clean and easy-to-install Roto top-hung/pivot roof windows with full headroom and practical single-handed operation are the standard for all functions for products of their kind.

1993 Introduction of the multi-point locking system under the name Roto Safe.

Today Roto is the only complete supplier for matching hardware technology right round the door. Roto Frank AG is wholly owned by the successor


families of the companys founder Wilhelm Frank and acts as a holding for all companies of the Roto Group.

In 2012 the family owned and operated company


with professional management achieved consolidated sales of almost 700 million euros at 11 production sites, 21 branch sales offices and with over 4,000 employees worldwide.
