BRIEF :- My thesis topic is KMOMA, which is proposed in Kolkata.

The city is center of culture and art for INDIA for a long time . The museum of modern art is proposed in the city to renew its image and to promote modern art in India by showcasing the world renowned art forms.

DESIGNING :- Form of the building define its

approachability. So to attain balance and harmony using cuboids, it should be placed precisely without disturbing its functional value. Staggered form of cubes and cuboids can create interesting view for building and an openness in its design will provide an opportunity for proper ventilation and lighting.

CONCEPT :- The building should be modern and climate

responsive. These things define shape or we can say form and materials used for the construction. Cuboid and cubes are perfect to display modern look and its perfect placement can create interesting faade for the building without dominating its surrounding, because it will blend easily. A good material for moderate climate will add to its feature like exposed brick work, concrete masonry units. I prefer minimalistic design approach for this project. Because it will provide its surrounding a new definition of modern architecture and main motto is to achieve climate responsive architecture.

TRANSFORMATION :- Cubes/cuboid are perfect

geometric forms which basically transformed from single line into a square/rectangle and then into a cube/cuboid. These shapes can be transformed into triangular pyramids by cutting it diagonally.

DIVISIONS:- Cubes and cuboids creates interesting

shapes when deal with proper divisions. When faces of cubes/cuboids are cut diagonally it forms triangle which creates interesting forms with the surrounding and at the same time the building provides space to itself for better interaction.
