Boles, McGraw-Hill, 2011 Homework: Use engineering paper; Show all important steps; Always include physical units. Attendance: Two bonus points for perfect attendance. Grading: 3 Midterm Exams @ 20% each 1 Comprehensive Final Exam Homework, Quizzes, Attendance and Participation Grading scale: A (>=90); B (80 89); C (70 79); D (60 69); F (<60)

How to be Successful: Suggestions from Previous Students


Come to class every time and take the best notes as possible (especially the examples). Follow in class example problems carefully, and make side notes explaining why the problem was solved a specific way for future reference. Do all the Homework Exercises (DO YOUR OWN WORK), you will need the practice for the tests. Use the problem-solving procedure, it will make your work easier to understand, which will help you study for upcoming tests/quizzes. When Dr. Zhang says to pay attention early in the class he means it. Catching up is difficult/impossible if you don't master the basics.
