Legend is a 2014 Telugu film directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by Ram Achanta,Gopichand Achanta and Anil Sunkara under 14 Reels Entertainment[8] and Sai Korrapati will be presenting the film on Vaarahi Chalana Chitram.[1] It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, working for the second time with Boyapati Srinu after Simha,[9] alongside Radhika Apte, Sonal Chauhan and Jagapathi Babu.[10] Devi Sri Prasad composed the music and Ram Prasad handled the cinematography.[11] Legend had a Pre-release revenue's upto 56.5 crore (US$9.4 million) with distribution,music and satellite rights.Finally Movie declared as Blockbuster hit. First week gross collections 36 crores,on the way to 50 crores club.[12] It breaks his previous record share collection of Simha by grossing 32 crores share after 10 days. The film has received 8.7 rating at Internet Movie Database.[13] The film released on March 28, 2014 worldwide.[14][15] Upon release, the film received positive reviews from critics.[16][17]

Plot
Krishna (Balakrishna) lives in Dubai, while his family is in India. His grandmother is against him settling in India. Krishna falls for Sneha (Sonal Chauhan) and comes to India to seek the blessings of his grandmother. Jitender (Jagapati Babu) is a man with pride and haughtiness. He cannot tolerate anyone who comes across his way. Once, he goes to a nearby village for a marriage proposal to him. There he gets involved in a quarrel with the village headman (Suman) due to some unfortunate events and gets jailed. From then on wards, he tries to take revenge on that family. He kills the family members of the village headman one-by-one. As soon as Krishna arrives in India, he gets involved in quarreling with the gang of Jitendra. When Krishna and his family members are travelling in a bus to visit a temple Jitenders shoots Krishna and his family members are beaten badly by his henchmen. Krishna's elder brother Jai Dev(Balakrishna) who remained exiled obeying his grandmother, saves them and Krishna is admitted in a hospital . Then the past is revealed that twenty years back there was a quarrel between Jai Dev and Jitender in which Jai Dev's cousin(Radhika Apte) whom he loved was killed by Jitender. At present he

comes to know that Jitender is going to become Chief Minister of the state.How he stops Jitender from claiming this throne forms the rest of the story.

Casting
Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan was roped as one of the leading actress.[18] Jagapathi Babu was cast as a villain.[19] Kalyani paired up with Jagapathi Babu as his wife.[20] Anil Sunkara confirmed that Radhika Apte was the heroine.[3] Hamsa Nandini agreed to appear in a special song with Balakrishna.[21][22]

Filming
The muhurtham ceremony of the film was held on June 3, 2013[23] in Hyderabad.[1] The film was supposed to start its shoot in Dubai, but the production team decided to start off because Some permissions did not come through in time.[24] The regular shooting of the film started in Ramoji Film City on 13 July 2013 at Hyderabad.The introduction scene of the hero was shot under the action choreography of Ram Laxman.[11] A special car chase sequence of the film was shot in the deserts of Dubai [25] and a song was canned on Balakrishna and Sonal Chauhan in this schedule.[26]

The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, teaming up with Boyapati Srinu for the third time after Bhadra and Tulasi,[27] and scoring for the first time for a Balakrishna film[28] There are six tracks in the album.[29] Audio was bought by Lahari Music for a fancy price.[30][31] The music was launched on 6 March 2014 at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad with the film's theatrical trailer. Pre-Release business
The first look of the film was released on January 1, 2014[32] and the satellite rights of the film were reportedly bought for 8.5 crore by Gemini TV.[33] The film was released across the World on March 28, 2014.[6][34] Legend was released in 700 Theaters across the state and over 1200 theaters worldwide. Legend had a Pre-release revenue's upto 56.5 crore (US$9.4 million) with distribution,music and Satellite rights.[12]

Legend Satellite rights were sold for 8.5 crore (US$1.4 million) to Gemini tv. Its music rights were sold for 80 lakh (US$130,000) along with home media rights. Its Audio telecast were bought by maatv.
