Courses taken at Asian College of Journalism New Media Projects: Worked as a reporter for Pop-Up Newsroom, a mobile journalism project on covering economic inequality which was carried out in participation with California State University, USA and Newcastle University, UK in November 2013. Dissertation: Completed a dissertation on Being a Woman Journalist in Indian Media wherein a wide range of pros and cons of being a woman journalist in Indian English Media in todays time is discussed at length along with solutions if there is room for any. The topic broadly looks at failures and successes at three fronts, that is, family, field and the organization they work for.

Electives:

Making Sense of Politics: To understand the functioning of political system in India and the democratic institutions like parliament, state assemblies and local bodies and their relationship with the other arms like executive and judiciary.

Journalism for Development: To understand, report and cover trauma disaster, conflict, destruction and disease and lives affected by these, with appropriate terminologies, images and ethics along with efforts to facilitate positive change and development.

Understanding Gender: To see, observe and report how ways of seeing, reporting and representing are gendered; why these ways have to be unlearnt or re-learnt, in the interests of equality and justice.

Covering Deprivation: A weeks trip to Ramnathapuram district of Tamil Nadu to explore the nuances of rural reporting wherein the students were exposed to a completely unknown environment to cover stories centric

to rural section of that region. I covered stories pertaining to agriculture, education and livelihood in the villages of Ramnathapuram district.
