Come learn all about how to ride, groom, lead, tie, and most importantly SAFELY have fun with
horses! This four day camp offers kids a chance to learn everything about horses from the
ground to the back of one of our trusty lesson steeds. Camp sessions go from June 17th 20th
and the following week from June 24th -27th. Our camps are limited to 8-10 campers to
ensure everyone gets a quality experience - Call today for availability!
Supervised early Pick-up and Drop-off times are available.
Day One: 8 am 4 pm
Introductions, Rules, and HORSES! Get a tour of our beautiful farm and get to meet lots of our
horses! Today, we'll learn all about breeds, colors, markings and how to properly handle our
horses while on the ground. We'll also get to see how a real barn works and even our hands
dirty with some barn work of our own! Riding assessments will be in the afternoon to make
sure every kid is matched up with the perfect horse for the rest of the camp. Later this
afternoon, we also begin our week long projects by picking a favorite topic today! What will
yours be?
Day Two: 8 am 4 pm
The hip bones connected to the hock? Today were going to learn all about horses body parts
and how to help our horses get better if they get hurt! Well get to learn about basic first aid
and how to prevent injuries from getting worse and most importantly when to call the vet!
Later today is horse spa day! One of our lucky (and dirty!) horses will help us learn how to
properly bathe! Lessons on horseback will focus on broadening skills and learning new
techniques for future riding. Well also keep working on those week long projects, and finally to
end the day well learn about feeding the horses!
Day Three: 8 am 4 pm
Horse dress up day! What are polo wraps used for? Why do we use fly masks? We will get to
play dress up with some of the horses and learn all about what things horses can wear to
protect them from the sun, pesky bugs and playing too hard. While on horseback, well get
more instruction on improving our rides. Our last day working on projects! Well get them
presentation ready so well be all ready for the Camper Seminar at 4pm tomorrow afternoon!
Day Four: 9 am 4 pm
GAME DAY! Today will start a little later so everyone can be rested up for all the fun games we
have planned! Dizzy bat, mounted relay races and super fun obstacle courses are just some of
the great stuff going on today. Campers will also present their projects to the camp instructors
and any parents that want to come during the Camper Seminar!
