HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 10-12; Luke 14 Monday, April 21 Isa. 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Lord Jesus My Savior and Master: You are my heavenly hero! All your supernatural power is contained in those three words: mighty to save. You save by what you have said, because even your words impart your righteousness. You always move in the greatness of your strength. Do so today as I pray for __________ and __________, who are lost. You are not only mighty to save those who repent; you are also strong enough to move their hearts and make them willing to do so. I know you will carry to heaven all those who believe, but you are moreover mighty to give them new hearts and work faith in them right now! ! You are mighty enough to make the man or woman who hates holiness love it ! You are mighty enough to make those who despise your name bow to it ! You are mighty enough to make those who ridicule your word come to believe in it. Lord, do that today! Phil. 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Your might does not lie in making me a believer and then leaving me to fend for myself. You are mighty to make me holy (sanctification) after you have declared me holy (justification). You are mighty to preserve me in your fear and love all the way until you perfect my spiritual existence in heaven. I am powerless to reclaim the rebel, but I will not give up praying for the lost, because Jesus is mighty to save. Let me lay hold of your arm even now. Amen. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 13-15; Luke 15 Tuesday, April 22 John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Blessed God: Some weeks I have a mountain of difficulty, distress, and defeat in my way. My human reason sees no way around it. My natural strength sees no way over it. My personal feelings see no way through it. Lord, I invite faith to enter me right now! Make my mountain a plain. I hear the echo of your word in this process: Zech. 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. And that truth right there is a prime directive for leveling insurmountable trials of life. I see I can do nothing, and all my reliance has to be on you. Zech. 4:7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Not by might, because no visible means of support can be leaned on Not by power, because I have to walk in Christ so he alone can work. Men and their means will ultimately fail me. Only by My Spirit, because the only force powerful enough is your invisible, Holy One in my life As long as I follow your will, then mountains are molehills. You can remove worlds of opposition like children shoot marbles out of a circle. This is the power that you lend meto change my destiny by deciding for you. If you want me to move the Rockies today, just give me your name. Even in my weakness your power will make them a plain. Lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil, as I thank you for the Lord Jesus. Amen. FRIDAY CHURCH PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 22-24; Luke 18:1-26 Friday, April 25 Isa. 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Infinite God, All High and Glorious: We are toiling and boiling, stressed and distressed. The thought of your perfect peace comforts us. Your purpose causes you no worries. You are not frustrated by failure, because your power is unlimited and your goodness is not undeveloped. Bring order out of our confusion and turn our defeats into your victories. We sow in tears, but you promise us to reap in joy. Establish your kingdom in the hearts of others by useven through our failures. We come to your throne encased in a body of sin and death. Consequently we often carry much of sin, much of worry, and much of sorrow. We want to be unburdened at your mercy seat right now. As for our cares, we are ashamed we even have them, seeing how you care for us. We have trusted you ever since we got saved; your love is not a matter of question. We therefore leave every concern we have for our family or for ourselves, for our business or for our health, entirely with you. As for our sin, we bless you Lord for a sight of the precious blood of Jesus, because when you see it your wrath passes over us. No angel of justice can strike where the blood of your Son is sprinkled. Give us a sight of the blood too, so we can rest knowing you have forever put away our guilt, because we believe! Lord, help us stand before you today, entering into your rest even as we enter into your presence. May this be a day when the peace of God that passes all understanding keeps our hearts and our minds through Christ Jesus. We ask it for his names sake. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 16-18; Luke 16 Wednesday, April 23 Rom. 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Worthy Lord: Consume me today as a complete offering on your altar, joyfully ascending to you in every expression of my life. Refresh me. Draw me near to you. It is only your presence that can make me happy, holy, fruitful or strong. Shadow me with your wings and let me trust in you. Give me revival! Let me follow very near to you today, and feel the joy that only your closeness brings. If I come into the presence of anyone who is unsaved, convict them by your Spirit, and send them light through my testimony. The only job I have is to get out the gospel. Make their heart leap at the sound of itso much so, they repent and turn to God. Give them revival! Isa. 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Bless every one of our missionaries around the globe. Make their preaching hit home. Protect their children and families. Give them grace to endure the hardness of life on foreign soil. Accept their prayers and praises. Receive petitions also from the beds of those who are sick at home or in hospital. Give revival! I am the watchman of the night. Let me not grow weary in well doing. Let me not be without your smile today. My soul cries out for you. Isa. 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward. Cover my flank as I walk in your Spirit. Give us revival! Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Kings 1-3; Luke 18:27-43 Saturday, April 26 Psa. 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace. Dear Lord and Savior: David had just heard your voice in a thunderstorm. He described the path of the tornado and saw your power. Now, in the cool calm after the storm, that overwhelming power is promised to be the strength of your chosen people. I need that power today! You swing an unerring bolt of lightand I need the wings of an eagle to rise above my week and weekend. You shake the earth with your thunderand I need your still, small voice to speak to me. Why am I so weak when I have divine strength to run to? Why am I so troubled about circumstances when the outcome is secured and your destiny is mine? Jesus the mighty God is my strength. Let me put on his power by prayer, and go forth to serve and minister today. I need not end this week with a whimper. He will quell my fears! I thank you Lord, for the same God who rides on the storm in days of tempest, and rules the tornado of my trials, also sends me days of peace. Calm. Strength and stability. Give me strength for the storms as well as songs for the fair weather of my life. Why not sing today even in spite of the clouds? Lord, help me banish dark thoughts from my mind; assist me to arrest them, take them captive, and deliver them to you for keeping. Let me operate today on the basis of faith and hope in you, for this is the only way I can survive. I live in a hostile environment and am always attacked by Satan and sin, and Lord you know the depth of weakness in my flesh. Give me your own power, for I ask it in Jesus name, Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 19-21; Luke 17 Thursday, April 24 Mark 15:20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

LOW in the grave He lay, Jesus, my Savior,

Waiting the coming day, Jesus, my Lord! Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus, my Savior; Vainly they seal the dead, Jesus, my Lord! Death cannot keep his Prey, Jesus, my Savior; He tore the bars away, Jesus, my Lord! Up from the grave He arose, With a mighty triumph oer His foes, He arose a Victor from the dark domain, And He lives forever, with His saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose! PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS " PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

! Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God) ! Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of walking with us) ! Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in the Word)

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
