GROUP A Discussion Questions: Does an increase in the number of voters make a country more democratic?

Should the United States have allowed American Indians to keep their tribal identities? Does a geographic minority (regionsNortheast, West, South) have the right to ignore the laws of a national majority? Did Andrew Jackson advance or hinder (hold back) the cause of democracy? How was Jackson a hero? How was he a villain? Did more people participate in government during Jacksons presidency? Why did South Carolina threaten to secede from the Union in the Nullification Crisis? How did this event portend (serve as a warning sign) the Civil War? Assess Jacksons dealing with the Nullification Crisis. Did he make the right decisions? Was there even a right decision?

Was Jackson a King as the Whigs called him, or a true common man of the people?
