Couchiching First Nation announces a Career Opportunity for a Health and Recreation Manager (Internal/External posting)

The Health and Recreation Manager is a full time middle-managerial position of the First Nation. The Health and Recreation Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of the First Nation policy and the administration of the health and recreation programs of Couchiching First Nation The Health and Recreation Manager is also responsible for the supervision of employees within the Health, Youth program(s) and Recreation Departments, the Health and Recreation Manager reports directly to the Director of Community Operations. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Health and Recreation leadership or a related field, plus a minimum of four (4) years experience in the provision and management of First Nation or other Aboriginal health programs and a minimum of two (2) years experience in supervising staff and program management; Diploma in health management or related field plus a minimum of six (6) years experience in the provision and management of First Nation or other Aboriginal health and recreation and a minimum of two (2) years experience in supervising staff and in program management; Knowledge of various programs administered by the First Nation (N.N.A.D.A.P, Child Welfare Prevention, Recreation, Community Health etc); Knowledge of the First Nations government structure, native culture and traditional lifestyles; Knowledge of Federal and Provincial government agencies, programs, policies and procedures affecting the health services of the community; Ability to work with various software packages (Microsoft Office, Internet,) Excellent Organizational Skills, administrative and leadership skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and A valid Driver License. SALARY: Budgeted starting at $45,000, salary will be commensurate based on qualifications and experience.
