sipsFORM buildings are made from prefabricated Structural
Insulated Panels (SIPs), which are manufactured by sand-
wiching a core of expanded polystyrene insulation between
two structural skins of sustainable Oriented Strand Boards
(OSB). The panels are templated to fit together forming the
floors, walls and roof and are manufactured using a low car-
bon process with minimal wastage.
The use of SIP’s reduces construction time and ensures that
the building has a high thermal performance which can be
enhanced by the choice of external cladding and internal
finishes used. The result is minimal heating and cooling re-
quirements reducing energy consumption by up to 60%.
sipsFORM buildings can be equipped with solar PV electric-
ity, solar thermal heating, rainwater collection and a com-
post toilet. Optional internal wall and floor finishes as well as
a microkitchen and bathroom are also available.
