INT. SAFE ROOM - DAY INSERT - Object ACCESS DENIED screen on a Safe. CARL Fuck! Carl slams his hand on the safe. He waits for a moment, and tries pushing the code in again. The words ACCESS DENIED fill the screen. Carl GROANS, and tries multiple times. He stands up and backs away from the Safe, into a better lit part of the room. For the first time we see him fully, hes an everyday guy, dressed in jeans and a shirt. He appears concerned, standing still for a few moments. The room itself is clean and empty, and reasonably well lit, the Safe being the most prominent object. CHRIS (O.S.) Is something wrong? CARL (Beat) No. CHRIS (O.S.) Why are you taking so long? CARL Im calling Paul. CHRIS (O.S.) Now? CARL Yes now! CHRIS (O.S.) Make it quick. And will you SHUT UP! Carl looks away from the doorway, and pulls his phone out to call Paul. He has a very calm yet serious voice. CARL Theres a problem. PAUL (O.S.) (Beat) Why? CARL Your code doesnt work! Figure this out! PAUL (O.S.) Okay, take a moment, breathe. You breathing? (Beat) I cant hear you Carl. (CONTINUED)

CARL Im breathing! Im breathing. PAUL (O.S.) Good. Are the doors locked? CARL Yeah. PAUL (O.S.) Good. When will I be able to see you? CARL Chris is on it. PAUL (O.S.) Good. Youll have problems in twelve minutes. Send the signal my way. CARL Youll get the cameras, You just need to act with a bit more fucking concern. PAUL (O.S.) I am concerned. Breathe. Ill be right back with you. Paul puts the phone down on Carl. Carl checks his watch, and has a deep breath. CARL Twelve minutes. Carl walks out the room and up stairs. INT. CORRIDOR - DAY Carl walks down a short corridor towards a door. He holds the handle for a moment, and opens it. INT. RECEPTION - DAY The Reception seems fairly normal. Inside are 3 people. CHRIS is casually sitting behind a desk. The MANAGER, who is unconscious. The Manager is badly beaten, with a large wound in his thigh. Carl walks into the room past Chris, but stops at a body lying on the floor by the door. He looks at it. SHOT - POV BODY ON THE FLOOR. PAN UP (TRANSITION) TO...

INT. RECEPTION - DAY (FLASHBACK) Carl and Chris have just entered the Reception, masked and wielding baseball bats, everyone in the room backs away. They make gestures for everyone to get into a group. Someone decides to make a run for it past Chris, but he gets hit in the head, distracting Carl. Another person tries to make a run for it past Carl, but he manages to kick him back, and hits him in the head with his bat. He falls back past the frame. INT. RECEPTION - DAY SHOT - THE BODY FALLS ONTO THE FLOOR AS IT WAS, PAN UP TO CARL. THE BODY IS VISIBLE FROM THE MAIN ENTRANCE CARL Should we move him? CHRIS If you like. Carl stares at Chris for a moment. He begins to move the body out of the way of the door. CARL How much longer? CHRIS For? CARL The cameras. CHRIS Bear with it. Hell see us soon. CARL How soon? CHRIS No faster than I can make it. Wait for the connection. CARL (Beat) And when will weChris phone starts ringing. CHRIS Wait for the connection. Chris answers the phone.

PAUL (O.S.) I hear youve got problems. CHRIS I hear you like giving them. Chris is watching some CCTV footage from earlier. Including footage of the Co-Worker being restrained in The Oak Room. PAUL (O.S.) I hear youve got a bad mouth. I hope youre not getting distracted and grumpy now? I do like it when you act like an adult. CHRIS Well then its a bad time to call me. PAUL (O.S.) Dont try and act tough over a phone. Chris is now watching a live feed of The Oak Room where Carl is sitting opposite the CO-WORKER INT. THE OAK ROOM - DAY Carl is sitting opposite the Co-Worker, who looks too scared to move. Carl is casually checking his phone. He looks up at the Co-Worker CARL Alright? The Co-Worker looks at him in fear. CARL Yeah... INT. RECEPTION - DAY PAUL (O.S.) ...And the last thing I need is any crap from you. Im doing my job. you do yours. Wipe the cameras. Ill reset the code. Wipe - the cameras. CHRIS Wipe the cameras.

PAUL (O.S.) Keep whoevers running the building in a decent state, I might well need something from him. Chris looks at The Manager, badly beaten and unconscious. CHRIS Sure. Chris puts the phone down on Paul. He begins to search through files on the computer. INT. THE OAK ROOM - DAY Carl is still sitting opposite the Co-Worker, casually checking his phone. Faintly, an alarm is heard in the background, but faint enough to be ignored. CO-WORKER What are you doing? CARL (Beat) Texting. CO-WORKER What are you doing with me? CARL Watching over you, making sure you dont do anything you wont regret. CO-WORKER While you just take away from good people who work decent jobs to make honest money? You.. you are the worst type of person there is you know. I bet you dont even know what honest means. You have noCarl instantly loses his temper. CARL You know nothing about me! Nothing! Youd better stop those words coming out your mouth before nothing else does! The alarm that was previously quiet is becoming more prominent. Carl appears concerned at the increasing alarm and walks into Reception.

INT. RECEPTION - DAY CARL The alarm is your job. CHRIS I sorted it out, its done. CARL Clearly not. Wheres that coming from? Carl and Chris begin to look around when they hear a knock at the door. PEDESTRIAN (O.S.) Hello? Carl and Chris stare at each other PEDESTRIAN Is everything okay in there? I have an appointment. CARL Everythings okay sir, Im afraid were closed today. PEDESTRIAN But I have an appointment, I always have this slot. Carl mouths "FIX IT" to Chris, signaling for him to do something about the noise, before approaching the door. INT. ENTRANCE - DAY CARL Hello there sir. PEDESTRIAN Is everything okay in there? Its not usually like this. CARL Well these things happen Im afraid, our services have had to be put on hold. INT. CORRIDOR - DAY Chris phone starts ringing. He answers it

PAUL (O.S.) I need you to do something for me. CHRIS What? PAUL (O.S.) I need you to get the Manager to do something for us. INT. ENTRANCE - DAY The Pedestrian is pulling a phone out his pocket. PEDESTRIAN You know Im sure I have one of the staffs numbers here. CARL No need to call anyone sir, all is well. A phone starts ringing in the pocket of one of the bodies on the floor. PEDESTRIAN I do hope he picks up. Carls phone goes off. He reads the text from Paul. PAUL (Text message) I HAVE EYES. GET RID OF HIM. Carl looks over to Chris, whos also received the text. He mouths "FIX IT!" to Chris again, who seems irritated, and begins kicking something metallic off camera. PEDESTRIAN Wheres Sam? Why isnt she picking up? CARL Sir Im afraid weve had to close temporarily due to unforeseen circumstances. If you come back tomorrow someone will see you then. PEDESTRIAN Whats that alarm for? Whats going on in there? This is most unusual. Ill tell my friend...

CONTINUED: CARL Theres no need to tell anyone, I can assureThe alarm stops. The kicking stops. Carl smiles. CARL Sir, Im afraid were just going through some unexpected maintenance today, but wed love for you to come back tomorrow. My names Matthew, if you just ask for me personally Id be happy to offer you a 30% discount for your inconveniences. PEDESTRIAN Well thats very nice of you! I think Ill do just that, thank you. CARL Its all part of the service. Goodbye. The Pedestrian walks away and Carl breathes. INT. THE OAK ROOM - DAY The Co-Worker starts screaming. CO-WORKER HELP! PLEAS-

Chris shows the CO-WORKER the inside of his shirt, clearly revealing a knife. CARL Shhhhhhhhhhh. Please, shhhhhhhh. CO-WORKER This is wrong. CARL Oh, everythings wrong! You cant do anything without someone disagreeing in some way, understand how perspective works. CO-WORKER My perspectives just fine, thanks. CHRIS Of course it is, its yours. Lets wake this guy up and ask how his is going. Hows it going?

Chris goes to punch The Manager in the chest. As he does, the camera follows and we TRANSITION: INT. FRONT ROOM - DAY (FLASHBACK) We follow Chris as he punches The Manager in the chest. CHRIS Yeah, youll stay there. Carl is ushering the Co-Worker into The Oak Room CHRIS Now dont go causing any problems. Chris begins to move away, and the Manager looks around for a moment, and yells. MANAGER HELP! PLEASE, HELP US! Chris turns round, looking determined. He plunges a knife into the Managers thigh. CHRIS I said no problems! Chris twists the knife and the Manager begins to pass out. CHRIS I think weve all had quite enough there. Chris begins to walk away from the Manager again. CHRIS (O.S.) Wake up! The camera pans to TRANSITION to: INT. FRONT ROOM - DAY Chris punches the Manager in the chest, and he wakes up, coughing. Carl and Chris stare for a moment. CARL Again. Chris punches the Manager in the chest, he makes a pathetic sound like a man given up. Carl signals Chris to move out of the way.

CARL Let me. Carl puts on a clearly fake smile and lifts the Managers head to speak to him. CARL Hey, hey. I bet this wasnt in your job description. I mean, you come here, who knows how many times a year for a bunch of button pushers who care nothing about you. Hell, they wouldnt fix your office door lock! I dont think youd be in quite this situation if your door could lock, wouldnt you agree? Dont be pissed at us, be pissed at them. The Manager makes a sad sounding noise and a small bit of blood spits from his mouth onto Carls face as his head drops. Carl slowly stands the Manager up and helps him walk towards The Oak Room CARL Heres the problem. We had what we thought was very reliable information about the code to the safe in the next room. Not particularly reliable information, apparently. Long story short, weve discovered the fire circuits and safe circuits are on the same relay. INT. THE OAK ROOM - DAY Carl turns the Manager round to face Chris, who now has the Co-Worker with a knife to her throat. Carl puts his phone up to the Managers ear. The phone starts ringing. CARL You are going to speak to your friends in head office, and get them to reset the fire circuits. If you dont, my friend will kill your friend. MAN ON PHONE (O.S.) Hello? CARL Start talking.

MANAGER You need to help me. Please, help me. MAN ON PHONE (O.S.) Im sorry I dont understand. Are you okay? MANAGER You need to help. The.. the fire alarm needs to be reset. MAN ON PHONE (O.S.) How come? MANAGER Because! Theres been a fire! Carl and Chris look intensely at the Manager. MAN ON PHONE (O.S.) A fire? When? Is anyone hurt? MANAGER No, no everythings okay, weve got it out, but the damn fire alarm wont stop and we need it reset. CO-WORKER Please! MAN ON PHONE (O.S.) Who is that? MANAGER Well we really want the alarm to stop. CO-WORKER Help me! MANAGER I think these guys deserve a break you know. MAN ON PHONE (O.S.) I can tell. Okay hold on - Im sending over the fire brigade and resetting the circuits. MANAGER No need to call the fire brigade! Its all okay here.

MAN ON PHONE (O.S.) Well theyre on their way. The circuits have been reset andCarl puts the phone down and begins to dial Paul. CARL Give me good news cause the fire brigade are on their way. PAUL (O.S.) Ive had the code reset. Are you listening? CARL Listening. PAUL (O.S.) The code is 498263 CARL 498263 PAUL (O.S.) You have two minutes. Paul hangs up, and Carl smiles at Chris. Chris smiles back. CHRIS Success? CARL Success. Chris takes the knife away from the workers throat, and seems relieved, walking away from her. CHRIS Paul always comes through. Chris and Carl walk out into Reception. INT. RECEPTION - DAY A bullet goes through the window and into Carls head, killing him. Chris is shocked, and blue lights begin to fill the room. A voice on loudspeaker is heard. POLICE (O.S.) Leave the premises immediately via the front entrance, we have you completely surrounded! Chris looks around for a moment

POLICE (O.S.) Immediately! Chris makes a quick mental decision and runs over to Carl, shaking him a little. CHRIS Carl, the code! I dont remember it! Carl is unresponsive and Chris uses his phone to call Paul. CHRIS Paul, I need the code! PAUL (O.S.) 498263. Get away from Carl, they came early and have the building covered. A smoke/tear gas grenade gets thrown through the window and an internal alarm goes off, automatically closing the door leading to the back. CHRIS The doors loPAUL (O.S.) Locked, yes. To your left under the counter, theres a fire extinguisher, grab it. Smash the lock, stay on the phone. Chris is trying to smash the lock. PAUL (O.S.) Get down to the floor. Chris ducks and two lasers appear where his head was, they begin moving away from the door and around the room. PAUL (O.S.) Smash the fucking lock! Chris stands up and smashes it on his first try. PAUL (O.S.) Get to the safe! INT. SAFE ROOM - DAY Chris runs out the smoke filled room and back to the safe. He begins punching in numbers.

Chris pulls open the safe and BAM! His face gets covered in paint. He begins yelling. CHRIS Arrrgh! What?! PAUL (O.S.) Stay calm. Whats happening? CHRIS My face! PAUL (O.S.) Stay calm and start moving. Out the door and back into the smoke. CHRIS What? PAUL (O.S.) Move. Right now. Get behind the counter. Chris resentfully moves back through into the room, coughing behind the counter. Two lasers appear back at the door. PAUL (O.S.) Stay low. Get to the other end, jump over, theres a cupboard on the far left wall. Get inside. Chris moves to the wall and into the cupboard. Its pitch black. He can hear things getting more frantic outside. Chris is breathing heavily. CHRIS What now? PAUL (O.S.) Just hold out. Were coming for you. CHRIS Whos coming? PAUL (O.S.) We all are. The door gets thrown open and a masked police officer stabs Chris in the neck. He takes off his mask and is wearing a bluetooth earpiece. (CONTINUED)

PAUL We all are. Paul turns round and walks through the room, taking off his earpiece. He gets to the Safe, inspects the paint device for a moment, takes what he needs, and leaves. He throws some cash onto Carl, stuffing lots into his pocket. He calls out. PAUL We got one here!
