3 Financial Management II (FIN 3011) Principles & Practice of Management (MGT 2010) Marketing Principles (MKTG 3010) None This course expects to provide students with the: 1 To create an awareness among students on the importance of International Business (IB) in creating and offering new markets for companies products/services across national borders which is vital to the growth and survival of a country, and its citizens; To familiarize students on the relationships and differences between domestic business and IB, and how one supplements and complements the other; To expose the students to the major players (countries, companies, organizations, and individuals) in IB are and their impact on the students employment career, and business ventures; To strengthen students knowledge in Islamic management principles and practices (vies a vies international Business), in pursuance with IIUMs Mission (IIICE TRIPLE ICE), i.e. Integration, Islamization, Internationalization and Comprehensive Excellence.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, students should be able to: 1 Define the importance of international business and the impact of international business on the Malaysian economy. Classify the trade theories and the arguments that international trade improves the welfare of all countries. Comprehend how countries measure the balance of trade, monetary exchange rates, currency quotations, and trades. Classify the political ramification and risks of doing business outside of ones home country. Distinguished the effect of culture on the practice of business, the opportunities and threats presented by national economies at varying stages of development. Classify the modes of international business entry, the multinational 2

enterprises, and international aspects of marketing, logistics, accounting, taxation, human resource management, and coordination and control.
