Background The business game has consisted of various group tasks that required preparation as a team do produce a coherent piece of work. However alongside this module I had other modules, which also include various group and individual assignments. As well as this my search for a placement has also consisted of several tasks to complete depending upon the application process of a specific company. Subsequently, I had numerous tasks and assignments to complete within a specific time period. Each assignment from the business game and other modules had deadlines, thus it was vital for me not to miss deadlines as a 10% late penalty would be applied to the final mark Action(s) Taken In order to complete numerous tasks I decided to manage my time in a proficient manner so no hindrances are caused in completing tasks due to time. I based my time management approach on a model of time management by Britton and Glynn (1989). Britton and Tesser (1991) discuss this model of time management in their article The model specifies several time management components: choosing goals and subgoals, prioritizing the goals, generating tasks and subtasks from the goals, prioritizing the tasks, listing the tasks on a "to-do" list, scheduling the tasks, and then carrying out the tasks. I decided to manage my time according to the model and implementing the compnents identified by Britton and Tesser. I had made a to-do list, listing all tasks and set goals for each task. These goals were based around the deadlines for each task. Outcome My time management was improved significantly by basing my approach around the model of Britton and Glynn. By improving my time management I was able to get all tasks completed to high standards. I had gained high grades of 68 and 75 in assignments for other modules and had various invitations to interviews for my placement applications. As well as working with the team on various aspects of the business game. Learning I have learned how to apply various time management techniques into my time management approach. Consequently, I have learned how to improve my time management skills. I have also identified the strong relationship with good time management skills and the completion of tasks to good standards.

Further Development In the future I plan to pass this knowledge onto my business game group. This will improve the team performance as each member will have a stronger understanding of how to improve their time management skills. As well as this I intend to further my research on time management to find other models which are more up to date as Britton and Glynn is from 1991. References Britton, B., & Tesser, A. (1991).
