The World Summit on Indigenous Philanthropy will be the biggest event in IFIP history and we expect it to have a remarkable impact. We scheduled the Summit right after the United Nations World Conference on Indigenous Peoples (WCIP) in order to keep the momentum and capitalize on the international coverage of the UN event. The Summit will have an immediate and profound impact because it capitalizes on the WCIP, providing a continuum to this high-level UN meeting, giving more time to indigenous leaders and donors to learn about and from each other and discuss how to better do Indigenous philanthropy. This Summit will foster cultivation of funding partnerships and will draw global attention to the importance of Indigenous philanthropy.
