24-HOUR DATA SECURITY
All fax information sent and received from eFax Corporate data
processing resources are carried in redundant, encrypted data
tunnels. Message data is protected by eFax Corporate’s secure
architecture as it is received, transported, processed and
forwarded to its ultimate destination.
eFax Corporate Technical Safeguards
Data Encryption
Client side message information transmitted to and from eFax
Corporate data processing resources utilizes the highest level of
encryption. eFax Corporate uses SSL and TLS encryption
methods to ensure confidentiality, authenticity, integrity and
non-repudiation of client fax assets.
Application Security
eFax Corporate’s service is based on a client’s existing SMTP
email service. The same login security used to protect these
email services also includes access control to the eFax Corpo-
rate service, safeguarding fax data access from other users. All
existing password controls (i.e. length, complexity, mandatory
resets) as well as single sign-on, apply to eFax account access
on the desktop.

Internal Systems Security
eFax Corporate maintains a set of distributed virus detection
servers which monitor all workstations, file servers and mail
servers for viral infection. Signature information is
updated automatically.
Operating System Security
eFax Corporate maintains a dedicated staff of Information
Security professionals responsible for preserving the integrity of
all systems and protecting confidential customer information.
Access logs and authentication requirements are reviewed
regularly. All systems are hardened by disabling and removing
any unnecessary users, protocols and processes.
Server Management Security
The services offered by eFax Corporate are transit oriented; no
faxes are maintained or stored on our systems. Confidential
information maintained in the eFax Corporate environment is
protected within a firewalled network architecture that
contains uniformly deployed intrusion detection systems
consistent with, and in many cases beyond best practices. All
networked devices within the eFax Corporate infrastructure
undergo a security assessment prior to deployment and
following any modification.
Reliability and Backup
From a customer perspective, the strategically distributed
architecture of eFax Corporate’s diverse network makes failure
of any single site a “low-impact” event. Clients may be readily
shifted from one site to another transparently. Critical resources
are peered with multiple upstream providers using BGP (Border
Gateway Protocol) and remote sites are connected via multiple,
diverse VPN sessions. All core resources and network equip-
ment are configured in a redundant and/or load balanced
fashion with automated failover capability.
Optional Added Security

provide robust message encryption between our processing
resources and customer premises. This architecture provides
additional security using either of two methods: (i) dedicated
point-to-point VPN or (ii) certificate-based TLS mail encryption.
