ScheduIe: Saturday 10 a.m. -1 p.m.June 7- October 4 2014 Mission: t is the purpose of the Bristol Farmers' Market to provide an outlet for local people to sell their farmed goods, prepared foods, crafts and services, while providing area residents with convenient access to a variety of local products in a festive, family-friendly community atmosphere. Bristol Farmers' Market Policies 2014
1. The Bristol Farmers' Market is primarily an agricultural market. Products sold must be produced by the vendor and grown or produced in Addison County or adjacent counties in Vermont. Products which are to be sold at the market must be declared before season begins when applying for market entry and are allowed as follows: Vegetables, fruits, flowers, herbs and plants, jams and other home prepared foods or animal products. Prepared foods highlighting local ingredients. Crafts may be juried by a committee of the market two weeks prior to selling. Dried flowers sold at the market must be grown by the vendor. A vendor can sell a product for another only if that person joins the market. f a vendor wishes to sell a product that they did not grow, it can only be sold when a vendor that grew the product is sold out. Local non-profit organizations, civic and/or youth groups may set up to sell products and/or share information about their organization with approval of the coordinators. 2. Anyone wishing to sell at the market must join as a member of the Bristol Farmers' Market. One time day vendors exempt. Another vendor may sell for another member of the market under a coop space agreement, approved by the application committee. 3. Payment of annual dues and space fees must be made 2 weeks prior to the first market attended. 4. Each vendor is required to report total gross weekly sales to the Manager according to the recording system that the Manager implements, for insurance purposes and market growth analysis. This information remains confidential and is not shared with other vendors or any governmental agency. 5. Each vendor is responsible for considering aesthetics of their display, ensuring that his/her products are of high quality, and conform to applicable Vt. State Health/Vt. Dept. of Taxes regulations. Contact the Vt/ Dept. of Taxes and/or the Vt. Dept. of Health, or VT Agency of Agriculture to learn of the basic regulations regarding your products and for other related assistance. 6. Market hours are from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Set up at the market begins no earlier than 9am. Take down should not begin before 1pm. Preferably, no sales may be made to the public before 10:00am in order to give all vendors time to set up. Exceptions may be made with permission of vendors present. After 10:00am vacant spaces may be reassigned to another vendor. 7. Vendor spaces will be assigned by the Market Manager or committee with seniority, accessibility and variety of products being the main criteria of placement. 8. Vendors are strongly urged to have a 10' by 10' tent to protect themselves/products during inclement weather. We remain open if it rains. Vendors can choose to leave if it thunders/lightnings. t is suggested for all tents and umbrellas to be staked. 8. Vendors are responsible for keeping their area clean and free from litter. 9. The committee of Market Officers or the Manager supervises the orderly conduct of activities at the market site. f problems or conflicts arise during Market hours, the Manager or committee will be responsible for their arbitration. 10. Vendors may not bring pets to the market. 11. All vendors are required to contribute time and effort in the operation of the market. t is a privilege to be a vendor of the market and included in the combined enterprise. Each member will contribute the equivalent of 5 hours toward market tasks each season (i.e. putting up signs, flags, fundraising tasks, advertising concerns, website management, etc.). This can be chosen by vendors or will be assigned by the Market Manager. 12. Vendors are encouraged attend and vote at both the Annual Spring and Fall member meetings. 13. Failure to abide by the above written policies may result in termination from the Bristol Farmers' Market. Any vendor who has difficulty meeting these requirements or has a grievance with any rule should make an appeal in writing to the Board.
