Creating a Greek god or goddess

Gods and goddesses often had superhuman qualities, strengths, or talents. They also had very human flaws and imperfections as well. This combination often made for interesting challenges and conflicts in their lives. You will create your own, unique, original Greek god or goddess. You can get as creative as you want with this assignment, however, your god or goddess can only have one domain or power and they cannot be named after an actual person (Lebron James- god of basketball is not original). Requirements: Your god or goddess must have a Greek name (using the Greek roots) Your god or goddess must be the god or goddess of something Your god or goddess must have a symbol or weapon Your god or goddess must one strength and one weakness

Zeus

God of the sky and supreme ruler of the gods.

Creating a Myth
Myths were often used to explain natural phenomena or teach a lesson. Your challenge is to create your own ancient Greek myth featuring your god or goddess that explains a natural phenomenon or teaches a lesson. Be sure to feature your god or goddess power/strength/talent. Your myth must have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Here are some things to get you thinking: Where did the Rocky Mountains come from? Where did the Texas blue bonnets come from? Why is it dark at night? What is in the middle of the earth? Why is there sometimes fog in the morning? Why should you not lie? Why should you respect your parents? Why should you put others before yourself?
