National Law University, Jodhpur is an institution of excellence
devoted to multidisciplinary study and research in the field of legal
education. This prestigious Institution was established with the
enactment of the National Law University, Jodhpur Act in 1999.
The Institution, with its vision of attaining global benchmarks,
became functional in 2001. The University takes pride in the full

The integration of Management, Science & Technology, and Policy
Sciences with Law at undergraduate level has achieved tremendous
success. The University offers unique five year integrated
undergraduate programs i.e. B.B.A., LL.B.(Hons.); B.P.Sc.,
LL.B.(Hons.); B.Sc.(Technology), LL.B.(Hons.) to generate
especially skilled global legal professionals. These integrated
programs offer unique and highly demanding honors courses in
various facets of Law such as Constitutional Law, Business Law,
International Trade Law, Criminal Law, and Intellectual Property
Rights Law.
BBA, LL.B. (Hons.) provides an integrated understanding of the
interrelationship between management studies and law in their
entirety. B.Sc. (Technology), LL.B. (Hons.) inculcates intensive
knowledge of contemporary technologies thereby establishing a
direct correlation between upcoming techno-legal disputes and
IPR issues. The Course is designed to prepare specialized techno-
legal professionals. B.P.Sc., LL.B. (Hons.) courses have been selected
and structured to add further value to the Law Courses alongside
providing an in-depth knowledge of Public Policy and Analysis to
the students. The multidisciplinary approach to the study of law
has yielded a rich harvest of technical, theoretical and practical
knowledge, and has immensely benefited the students learning
besides enhancing their knowledge and skills in a demandingly
competitive market.
The University has unveiled a unique LL.M. program in Corporate
Laws to nurture young talent for achieving the pinnacle of legal
perfection. The University also offers LL.D. and Ph.D. programs
in the quest for attaining excellence in higher education. The
University operates various distance education programs to share
its academic and legal skills with the society at large.
National Law University, Jodhpur is equipped with a multi
disciplinary faculty consisting of eminent Professors of national
repute and young but well qualified, experienced and hard working
faculty members. They publish regularly in national and
international journals of high repute and add to the treasury of
institutional learning. National Law University, Jodhpur has been
working with a broad vision for faculties with super specialization
to facilitate advance learning and enable learners to gain knowledge
of law in its entirety. The Vice Chancellor, Justice N.N. Mathur
with his vast experience as a lawyer and as a judge provides
meaningful inputs in exposing the students to practical facets of
the legal profession in his teaching of papers on procedural laws,
drafting & pleadings. Academicians and professionals of high
repute from within and outside the country regularly visit and
deliver lectures on specialized subjects.
Over the years demand for increasing expertise and expectancy
has led to the formation of various specialized centers namely
School of Insurance Studies, Studies in Banking and Finance,
Human Rights Education and Research, IPR Laws, Studies in
Taxation, Studies in Capital Market, Human Resources
Management Initiatives and Industrial Relations Studies etc. These
Centers work on prestigious academic and corporate projects and
facilitate students in the understanding of the intricacies of research,
corporate work culture and develop an insight into alternative
forms of learning. The Ministry of Human Resource Development,
Government of India has also instituted the Chair on Intellectual
Property Rights at the National Law University, Jodhpur during
the 11th Five Year Plan to promote teaching and research in
Intellectual Property Rights.
Pedagogy:
Through intensive research and trial, the University has devised
a unique teaching methodology which has a perfect blend of role
play exercises for management studies, fully equipped practical
labs in the science & technology subjects; Classroom discussions
which sharpen students public oratory skills; Case Studies for
analyzing contemporary trends in variegated spheres; Simulation
techniques for encountering real life situations; Individual and
collective projects for stimulating self-learning and Court Room
Exercises to emphasize on correct documentation, developing Case
delivery skills etc. Each subject receives thorough attention with
more than a 100 lectures per semester. Renowned international,
visiting and emeritus faculty members regularly visit the University,
teach courses, conduct training sessions and interact with students,
and through their wide learning and practical experience, help to
widen the intellectual horizons of the students.
NLU, Jodhpur has well equipped Moot Court Schedules to
familiarize students with the courtroom atmosphere long before
their actual arrival on the legal scene to inculcate skills of correct
researching, in depth analysis of precedents and develop excellent
oratory skills. National Law University, Jodhpur team was the only
one out of two Indian teams to have made it to the top 16 amongst
over 120 Law Schools competing worldwide at Shearman and
Sterling Rounds of 50th Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot
Court Competition 2009 held at Washington D.C. The University
team was also runners up at Susan J. Ferrell Intercultural Human
Rights Moot Court Competition at Miami. The list of rewards
and accolades won by our talented and dynamic students is long
and impressive. They zealously prepare, participate and win notable
national and international moot court competitions, parliamentary
debates, legal, cultural and literary fests, seminars, conferences,
symposia and sports & cultural activities.

The University inculcates social and humanitarian consciousness
in the students early on by seeking their involvement in providing
free legal aid to the needy, spreading legal awareness among the
downtrodden, organizing camps in inaccessible backwaters to
spread legal knowledge.
Infrastructure:
Located on the outskirts of the city of Jodhpur on the highway
towards Western Rajasthan, the University campus provides an
ideal setting for nurturing effective academic learning. The nerve
centers of the University campus are the Halls of Learning, an
extensively well documented air-conditioned library with access
to leading treaties and books, top-notch national and international
journals and all major on-line resources, computer lab, with facility
to download, print and photocopy; air-conditioned multimedia
equipped Wi-Fi connected lecture theatres that provide instant
global connectivity, conference hall and meeting rooms. 24 x 7
connection to internet at 8 Mbps speed and Wi-Fi connectivity
throughout the campus are prominent techno savvy features of
the university.
NLU, Jodhpur has an excellently developed and efficiently managed
infrastructure for a comfortable stay on campus. The University
campus houses six Boys and five Girls Halls of Residences with
single seated rooms which are equipped with campus LAN and
the Internet. The common mess, with a surrounding green garden
and cafeteria is a meeting place for the students and has been
designed to foster academic and social activities. Health and
Wellness facility in the form of a Dispensary with medical staff
24X7 to take care of each students medical requirements is
available on campus. Essential services like Bank, laundry and
housekeeping are provided to ensure a comfortable stay on campus.
The University also provides facilities for various indoor and
outdoor sports and a well-equipped gymnasium with separate
trainers for boys and girls in the Halls of Residences. In its effort
to cater to the multifarious talents of students in residence, the
University has also developed a Culture Centre and Music and
Recreation room. The complete safety of students is insured by
the presence of trained Security Guards throughout the campus.
Internship & Placement:
NLU, Jodhpur has a well structured Internship program with
reputed law firms, corporate houses, Judges, leading lawyers,
financial institutions and NGOs to help the students achieve the
objective of imbibing practical knowledge on applicability of law
and learning law in action. National Law University, Jodhpur
has signed MoUs with select Foreign Universities for exchange of
students, faculty and co-operative teaching.
The learning, exposure and experience our students receive in the
course of their education makes them highly marketable
commodities in the legal and commercial market of India and
abroad and we proudly claim almost 100% on campus placement
for all our outgoing batches.
Placement achievements at NLU, Jodhpur have been characterized
by the diverse nature of recruiters ranging from National and
International Law firms to PSUs to MNCs, clerkships with Honble
judges in Supreme Court, thus exhibiting the acceptability of our
curriculum in todays marketplace. Some of our students quest
for knowledge has also led them to eminent foreign universities
including Yale, Oxford, Cambridge and Columbia for higher
studies.

Intake and Reservation:
(a) Undergraduate Programs:
The intake capacity of all the three undergraduate degree programs
i.e., B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.); B.Sc. (Technology), LL.B. (Hons) and
B.P.Sc., LL.B. (Hons) put together, shall be Hundred (100).
Students shall be allotted courses/stream at the time of admission.
There shall be 15% for SC and 7.5% reservation for ST category
students. 03% seats in each category are reserved for physically
challenged students.
