The month of April is designated as Child Abuse Prevention Month. This event will kick off our month of activities to help us promote awareness in our community. Many different organizations in the community will be participating and with your help it will be a great success. Weill be meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 2 pm at the department of Social Services in efforts to ensure everyone has the information need. We are asking every group that participates to have some sort of activity at your assigned area to help attract children and their parents to you. There is no activity too big or small. Once they visit your site this is your opportunity to provide educational materials and answer any questions about your organization. The ultimate goal of this day is to get as much information out to our community to help educate them about programs and services offered. If you have any questions please contact Wendy Stanton at (910) 277-2525 ext. 3365. We look forward to seeing you on March 22nd and April 19, 2014. Members of the Scotland County Child Fatality Prevention Team Sub-Committee asked the members and myself to come up with ideas that would be helpful with reaching secondary caregivers/Fathers of infants with important information and facts. During that time there had been 4 infants to die within a four month period at the hand of a secondary caregiver/Father within Scotland County.

A major concern of the Committee is that secondary caretakers are unaware of the many dangers associated with Co-sleeping.
We brainstormed on avenues to reach them Posters was decided upon My Submission was chosen with a few modifications
