Nature & science of Brhmaa texts -Arun Kumar Upadhyay, arunupadhyay30@yahoo.

in, (M) 9437034172/9583492387 (summary) Veda is world & its representation in words. Brhmaa is one who knows Brahma = universe. In Veda of word form, Brhmaa is explanatory text. Collection of Mantras seen by various is is Samhit. Its explanation part is called Brhmaa, divided into 3 parts- Brhmaa, rayaka, Upaniad. This is parallel to structure of world-Original source + 3 Dhmas-Universe, Galaxy, Solar system. There is another 1+3 division of Vedas-root Atharva + k-Yaju-Sma, all indicated by a branch of Palsa having 3 leaves, a symbol of Brahm. rya-samja views only Samhit as Veda, thinking that Brhmaa is only its explanation. But no text is complete without explanation and it has to be integral part. Veda indicates parallel of world & word, and link of world at 3 levels-cosmic, physical, inner- needs understanding of all sciences at level not achieved so far in modern science. Possibly separate existence of 3 systems needs that links remain beyond experiment. That level was achieved before mantras were seen and stopped after decline of science in Mahbhrata period. First texts were written in time of Svyambhuva Manu (29102 BC), called Human Brahm, and those texts are of Brahma Sampradya. Later on, in time of Vaivasvata Manu (13902 BC), some revisions specially in ukla Yajurveda were done. These texts were of ditya sampradya, revived by Yjavalkya, slightly before Mahbhrata. Brhmaa texts explain link of rituals with actual processes in cosmic, physical, inner worlds. rayaka is practical method, Upaniad is settled principles. One example is given which states that number of cells in human brain is equal to number of stars in galaxy or number of galaxies in visible universe. All these are 100 billion, so visible world Gaea is called Kharva (100 billion). 1. Veda as Word & World-Real world and its processes are expressed point wise in words called Vk-Artha-Pratipatti ( /) Manu-smti (1/21) also tells that words were formed by Brahm as per their acts (artha) Its root is in gveda ( //) = Hari is translated as Harita-soma by Syaa-This is energy radiated from sun creating green leaves with chlorophyll. That is start of life. Names are for discrete objects. To express a

thought, we have to include ta. Satya is pointed truth, ta is related matters. By this we express a continuous thought in ocean of knowledge like a man crosses ocean with ship. ( //) = Bhaspati (authorized by Brahm) gave names to all objects. By that, thoughts within guha (cave of mind) was best expressed. (, ,) = abda (sound or Vedas) is Nirajana (non- attached), eternal. The whole world is running with the artha (meaning, or form) of this abda only. - (/) = Two forms of Brahma are known-one is word, another is beyond that (world). Person thorough in word form reaches supreme Brahma. As indicated in first quote of Klidsa, Veda as world is male & its word representation is female (/) = Dev (goddess) is in word form consisting of pure k, Yajur, sonorous chanting of Sma from udgtha (start) to nidhna. Dev is three-veda, all-powerful, influencing Bhava (iva), talk among whole world and destroyer of sorrows. 2. Branches of world & Veda-There are 4 dhmas in space-(1) Collection of 1011 galaxies in visible universe-Svayambh, (2) Brahma = Galaxy with 1011 stars-Parameh = largest brick or cave, (3) Solar system, (4) Earth is Pada (feet) where we are based. Correspondingly, there are 4 stages of Vedas-(1) Samhit-collection of mantras, (2) Brhmaa = explanationBrahma, (3) rayaka-application-Ar ends of solar system, (4) Upaniad = to sit down, settled principle. ( /) Wheel of world has one nemi (axle), 3 covers (3 closed dhmas), 16 ends, half hundred ar (edges), 20 pratyar (branch spokes), by 6 octets world is bound, 3 paths to be free of moha of 2 sources-Bhakti, jna, karma. These 3 paths are explained in rayaka. ( //, /)

Prajpati (creator) in form of Samvatsara (solar system) has 5 feet (5 seasons) as pitara (creative forms), 12 kti (months) in bright zone (Divah). It resides in Pura (structure) of size of half Par (0.5 x 1017 yojana circumference) which is outer side filled with water (puriam). Others describe its 7 cycles (Chhanda, yugas, lokas) with 6 edges (seasons). Upaniad always means settled principle, as in examples below - ( //- ) , ( //) , ( /) , ( ///) ( //) ( /, ) , , , , (, , , /,) kh of Vedas are as follows-k-21, Yajur-101, Sma -1000 (or 13), Atharva -50 or 9. , , ( Viva are divided into 3 & 7 parts-making it 21 = k khs describing form. Motion or change in 10 dimensional world will be of 10x10 types, one is static or eternal source. So, Yajurveda of motion has 101 branches. Sma is motion & its effect having 10x10x10 =1000 types. Atharva is foundation or fixed reference , , ( ///) = All forms are from k, all motion from Yaju (or Yajur), all field of influence is Sma, the complete is created by Brahma (Atharva). Practically, branches in word form are almost same text with local variations. Branches of K a yajurveda were spread all over the world, ukla yajurveda branches were only in India when Vedas vanished elsewhere (Charaa-vyha of aunaka). Old version was made by Svyambhuva Manu (26000 years before Kali in 3102 BC-Brahma pura 1/2/7). Since he ) , (//), , , , ,

was the first of 7 human Brahms (Mahbhrata, nti parva chapters 255, 256), these branches are called Brahma sampradya. Later on, Vivasvn (sun, ditya) revived Vedas and his son Vaivasvata Manu was in 13902 BC after whom Satya, Tret, Dvpara (4800 + 3600 + 2400 = 10800) ended in 3102 BC. This was called ditya sampradya. It appears that many parts were lost in glacial floods of 10000 BC, so Yjavalkya revived it slightly before Mahbhrata (3139 BC) and wrote atapatha Brhmaa to explain the science of Vedas, specially Yajurveda. This is famous story that he vomited older Ka yajurveda received from his Guru and by worship of sun obtained new version. 3. Brhmaa as Veda-rya-samaj does not count Brhmaa part as Veda. Even in Samhit part, all branches are equivalent, but some are arbitrarily called Vedas and others as branch only. Even among branches considered main, 10% mantras are rejected outright as rya-samaj does not accept existence of dead Pitars. Remaining verses are twisted to translate each word as Paramevara only, as in the first verse of rybhivinaya stotra (collection of 100 k verses by Dayananda) all the 6 forms or parts of space are called Paramevara-Mitra, Varua, Aryam, Indra, Bhaspati & Urukrama ( //, /)

However, Vedic texts indicate that all collection of mantras and their explanations are Vedas. These include many texts related to Brhmaa also ( //) = From the breath of that Great Being are gveda, Yajurveda, Smaveda, Atharva-ngirasa, Itihsa (history), Pura (sequence and cause of creation), Vidy (techniques), Upaniads (principles), lokas (praise or description of beings), Stra (aphorims), Vykhyna (lecture), Anu-vykhyna (supplementary explanations). All these are His breath only. It may be noted that Gyatr mantra is considered primary qualification for study of Vedas and this mantra only is taught in Yajopavta or Vedrambha samskra. 3 or 7 vyhti (names of lokas) can be understood only from Bhgavata (& other) puras, not even from triple Brhmaa texts. In 1718, r Baladeva Vidybhaa of Chaitanya sect wrote a commentary Govinda-Bhya on Brahma-stra where he quoted in introduction the famous verse of Garuapura about purpose of Bhgavata puraThis properly explains the background of Bhgavata pura as explained in Bhgavata itself, its importance (mhtmya) in Padma-pura, and Dev-Bhgavata pura etc-

(a) Meaning of Brahma-stras written as summary of unification of Vedic thought by VedaVysa himself. (b) Removal of contradictions appearing in Mahbhrata, written earlier by Veda-Vysa. (c) Expansion of Gyatr-mantra which is origin of Vedas, (d) Explanation of Vedas. This key verse was removed from Garua pura in 1780 by Eric Pargiter & William Jones for their arbitrary distortion of Veda-puras. 4. Science in Vedas- Vedas are true simultaneously in 3 world systems image of each other(a) Cosmic = dhidaivika, (b) Physical on earth = dhibhautika, (c) Within human body = dhytmika. (, ) ( ) This unification or link between 3 worlds is logical, but has not been perceived by experiments of science. Possibly, it is necessary for independent existence of 3 worlds that they remain separated by My so much that their link cannot be seen. There is another classification of 5 which has 2 extra forms ---- ( //) Adhiloka =Cosmic structures, their image as man. Adhijyautia-cosmology, astronomy, its effect on earth, man. Adhividy-perception of other objects, result of interlink since start of creation. Adhipraj-Living beings, Brahma to Stamba-14 levels, cause of change, Yaja. Adhytma-Within human body, 18 levels of tm as world or individual. Till today, we do not have clear idea of interlink between cosmic system with earth and man. Probably, there link will always remain beyond experimental science, so that world systems survive independently, separated by My. dhidaivika meaning is based on knowledge of cosmology & astronomy, called Jyotia-eye of vedas. dhibhautika meaning depends upon knowledge of geography of earth, structure & minerals, plants, and other physical sciences. dhytmika meaning depends on knowing anatomy, physiology, Yoga, yurveda. Thus, without concept of sciences, Veda-mantra has no meaning. 5. Language structure-To understand scientific meaning, we have to be aware of ancient & modern sciences as needed for the context. Then we have to define technical words by comparing various meanings in Vedic literature (including Pura etc) and in current languages of India in unbroken tradition of Vedic Sanskrit. The generalized meaning is definition. When there is doubt, Gt and some phrases of Brhmaa, Nirukta etc are guide. In a sentence, each

word is defined by remaining words. Then we can find units of measure by comparing current measures & definitions given there. To make Vedas in words as replica of real world we have to create a complicated structure of language(1) Complete world can be viewed in 5 dimensions of mechanical world and 5 levels of Chetan. That needs 6 Darana, and 6 dara-vk (scripts). (2) Each object of physical world is named as per its functions. Link between name & function is based on generalized definition to include new objects. (3) Meanings of words are extended in 7 samsths-script, language, branches of science, geography, history, inner world and space - ( /) ( /) ( //) ( ///, /) (4) There should be a continuity of language, so that same meaning is understood in each era. That is provided by Sanskrit since time of Brahm (29102 BC). 6. Parallel measure of man & world- Many definitions and explanations from Brhmaa texts are quoted above. One example is given below which indicates accurate number of galaxies, stars in our galaxy and cells in human body. These numbers were known only after 1985, but their link is not clear in modern science so far. Bible calls man as image of God (Genesis 1/27). Charaka samhit, rra sthna tells the same , , ( , /) Equal number of particles in man, galaxy & universe are given more accurately in atapatha Brhmaa. For universe, galaxy is particle, For galaxy, stars are particles, and in human body particles are cell ( ///) , , ( ///) This divides muhrtta (15 part of day of 12 hours = 48 minutes) successively by 15 at each stage. After 7 divisions, we get Lomagartta = muhrtta x 15-7 = about 75000 part of 1 second. There are about 1012 lomagarttas in 1 samvatsara (year)-that is equal to number of cells in a man, so this unit is called Lomagartta. Loma is hair on skin, its gartta (pit) is a cell. Puru a is 10

times bhmi, which has 1011 cells in brain. The same is number of nakatras-these are stars for galaxy and beyond that galaxy itself is a nakatra. Thus, all three numbers are equalGalaxies in space = stars in galaxy = cells in human brain = 1011. Smallest unit is Svedyana = 11,20,000 parts of 1 second. In this time light ray travels 270 meters which is distance covered by a rain-drop in air. Beyond that it breaks or joins with other drop. So it is called ayana (motion) of sveda (water drop). Another feature is that 10 13 drops fall in a heavy rain (say 10 cms rain in 1000 km.2 area)-that is number of svedyana in 1 year. Cosmic structures are at 3 levels. Each closed compact body is earth. There are 3 earths in each level. For each earth, its sky has same ratio as man is related to earth (107 times) ( //, ///) Three earths are defined according to extent of zones lighted by sun ( , //,) = (3) The zone lighted by sun and moon is Pthiv (earth) and in all the earths-ocean, rivers and mountains are stated as on planet earth. (4) Whatever is the size of earth by diameter and circumference, the same is diameter and circumference of its sky, starting from earth. Stated by Maitreya to Parara, addressed as Dvija (Brhmaa). Planet earth-Its measure should start from human size, which is implied but not stated. Earth is limit (Koi) of world for man and its size is 107 times, so Koi = 107 . For earth also, its Koi of world is solar system which is its sky and is 107 times bigger. For Maitreya-maala, its sky or Koi is galaxy and is 107 times bigger. For the largest earth galaxy, its sky is universe. This is infinite, but is taken in same ratio of Koi = 107 . Thus the 5 levels of Viva starting with man are successively 107 times bigger. 107 = 224 and 24 is number of letters in Gyatr chhanda, so it is said that is measure of all the Lokas. x 107 = 224 Man Earth x 107 = 224 Solar system x 107 = 224 x 107 = 224 Galaxy Universe
