The general area that I want to investigate in my paper is the psychological affects that smokers are affected by such as cognitive dissonance. 2. The problem-oriented question in mind is what is the relationship between cognitive dissonance and a smokers addiction. 3. I think I need to know the different psychological variables that smokes are affected by in order to fully understand this idea of cognitive dissonance I think I also need to narrow down my topic into a deeper understanding of dissonance coping strategies.

An experiment was conducted on the impact of warning labels on cigarette packs and assessed using cognitive dissonance theory. 3. I plan on using this source by understanding the dissonance reducing strategies after confrontation with warning labels. It will support the points that smokers immediate try to cope with their dissonance with all sorts of strategies. 4. Note Log:

I plan on using this source by understanding its implications with cognitive dissonance meaning that smokers that unsuccessfully reduced their dissonance were more likely to quit. 4. Note Log:

This is an experiment that was designed to investigate various methods used by smokers to reduce cognitive dissonance and the relationship between their methods. 3. I plan on using this source by shows the dynamic relationships between dissonance reduction strategies smokers addiction. 4. Note Log:

This study was done to assess the knowledge and beliefs aout smoking of 58 smokers and non smokers and also ex smokgers, using a cognitive dissonance framework. Participants were shown research about lung cancer and the greater risk associated. 3. I plan on using this information by showing that the physiological arousal experienced by the negative effects presented by smoking have to be dealt with by our automatic processed so that we do not experience dissonance. 4. Three studies were explored whether cognitive dissonance in smoking is reduced immediately or remains constant due to the perceived health risk. Participants rated their smoking related health risks twice for different diseases. The study acknowledges the dissonance that this occurs. 3. I plan on using this information systematically by explaining the variables the experiment explored and also by understanding how the participants dealt with their dissonance. 4. Note Log:
