1.1.1 Able to speak with correct stress 1.1.3 Able to listen to and recite poems, tongue twister and sing songs, paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and intonation 3.1.1 Able to write in neat legible print with correct spelling (a) phrases By the end of this lesson, pupils should be able to: i) Listen to and say (optician, dentist, fishmonger, engineer, mechanic, greengrocer, plumber, hawker, pilot, refuse collector, florist and firefighter) after the teacher with correct stress. ii) Recite the 6 lines rhyme with correct stress of the 5 targeted words (optician, dentist, engineer, mechanic, another) on their own. iii) Name at least 10 out 16 occupations correctly by labelling the pictures. iv) Match correctly at least 8 out 12 occupations based on the description. Previous knowledge: Names of occupation. CCTS: Generating ideas, identifying characteristics Value: Set induction: Teacher plays a 30 seconds English spoken audio. Pupils listen to the audio quietly. Teacher asks what words they heard from the audio. Teacher writes the words mentioned by the pupils on the board. Teacher reads the words with particular stress followed by the pupils.

Presentation: Teacher shows names of occupation on the board. Teacher instructs the pupils to read after her. Teacher reads loud and clear with particular stressed syllables. Pupils read after the teacher and must pay attention to the stressed syllables.

Practice: Pupils read the names of occupation one by one without being led by the teacher. Teacher listens to their reading and corrects them whenever necessary. Teacher asks the pupils to copy the names of occupation on a piece paper and line the stressed syllables.

Production: Teacher pastes a 6 lines rhyme on the board and asks the pupils to read it together. Pupils, individually, reads the rhyme with correct stress. Teacher gives a worksheet (app. 1) and ask pupils to write the names of occupation based on the pictures. Time allocated for this task is only 5 minutes. Next, teacher divides the class into 4 groups. Teacher gives 2 worksheets (app. 2 and 3) that require the pupils to match the descriptions with correct occupation and fill in the blank of the workplaces. Time allocated for this task is 5 minutes.

Closure: Teacher shows the product of the group work and gives feedback. Teacher explains values of cooperation in finishing task in a given time.
