Thank you chairperson.

Good afternoon to the respected Principal, the Senior Assistants of the school, the faculty members and fellow students. Before I commence, I would like to express my gratitude to the principal for allowing me to be here and I would also like to say welcome back to everyone. I really hope that you enjoyed your school break with beneficial activities such as completing the Quality Vacation Module that was given out a couple of days prior the holidays. For your information, Mr. Mirza, Madam Salimah , Madam Zuraini and I were the teachers on duty throughout the final week and for that reason, it is our obligation to present our findings with the rest of you, based on our keen observation. First and foremost, I would like to say well done to the majority of the students for being able to adhere to the rules and regulations. Nevertheless, several flaws need to be addressed and rectified later on for the greater good of the school. Now, I wish to draw your attention to the first matter of the day which is the state of cleanliness of the school. Even though our school is relatively new, its state of cleanliness leaves much to be desired. While on duty, we noticed food wrappers, plastics, pieces of paper or empty packets were tossed around especially on the canteen floor. Asides that, a few students were seen disposing food wrappers into the drain which had led the drain around the canteen to be clogged. This is very unhygienic because when it rained for a few days, the stench from the drain rose up and spoiled everyones appetite. To add insult to injury, we noticed that some irresponsible students purposely left their plates, glasses, spoons and forks on the tables after they had eaten. I am reprimanding students not to litter on the floor or into the drains. Instead, please throw out the food wrapper into the rubbish bins and place the cutlery into the containers provided by the canteen operator. Litter was clearly seen scattering on the floor at the bus stop and around the surau area despite the fact that trash cans were placed strategically in the vicinity. Please bear in mind that this unbecoming attitude is totally intolerable. STAND is an institution that produces human beings with a high moral standard and we certainly do not produce litterbugs. I am sure all of us have heard of the old Malay saying SEKOLAH KU, RUMAHKU. Hence, please treat your school as your own home because I know that we will not deface our own homes with rubbish. As a civilized being, the responsibility is on us and because of that, I am urging all of you to instil the sense of belonging in yourselves. If we refuse to give our slightest attention to the cleanliness of the school, then who will? That is the question that we should ponder upon. Ladies and gentlemen, I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate the female students who are staying in the hostel for keeping the prep room in a neat condition. Please give

them a round of applause. (SURUH DEPA TEPUK TANGAN). However, the prep room for the boys was not really in an excellent state. The room was rather unkempt and the floor was cluttered with torn pages from books and old newspaper. The rooms appalling condition was an eye sore even for anyone. Please take note that our beloved hostel has long enjoyed the reputation of being one of the most pristine dormitories in Pasir Gudang and the hostel itself has been visited by many guests Thus, we should try to maintain this image because the present state of affairs is certainly not going to contribute to that. My only desire is that all of you who are currently staying in the hostel to view this matter seriously and take whatever action that may be necessary to make the hostel a more pleasant place for all of you. Last but not least, I am going to touch on the issue of time management. A few students were halted by prefects at front gate for arriving late to the school in the previous week. Again and again, I have to remind you that punctuality is important. So, please come to school on time by hook or by crook. During recess, it was also quite clear that students intentionally returned late to their respective classes after recess time had ended. Let me remind you once again that the disciplinary board has no problem to take stern actions against those who break the schools rules and regulations. In a nutshell, I hope all of you will heed my advice and let us all work hand-in-hand to make this school as the greatest school in Pasir Gudang. It is time for us to STAND TALL, STAND TOGETHER. Thank you for lending me your ears and have a nice day. (835 Words)
