To understand Yi (Yin Wood) is to understand Flower character. Yi (Yin Wood) are soft wood in nature. Like a small plant growing softly and gently and emerging as a beautiful and gorgeous flower, Yi people are mild and e pressi!e. They like to seek impro!ement and de!elopment in one"s own en!ironment. #s in a small plant or flower, Yi day master reacts and responds sensiti!ely to small changes of conditions. From here, we can see that Yi people are $uick%witted and are able to adapt $uickly to any change in circumstances which is the opposite of &ia day master which is hard wood in nature. Like a little flower, they may appear weak but can still grow well in a harsh en!ironment. 'n a typhoon, the small plants will sway and mo!e in the direction of the wind. (ence, Yi day master will not wither easily e!en though trodden as long as their roots are still intact. #s a result, we can say that Yi people are not only !ery fle ible and adaptable, but they are also !ery realistic and will always )find" their way in life, i.e. they are sur!i!alist in nature. *hortcomings are that they are !ery dependent on others. They can be fickle, change mind $uickly and do not stick to one course of action. They can be swayed by temptations and may be decei!ed or misled by others easily. #s in a small flower, Yi people re$uire *unlight (+ing%Yang Fire) to bloom, and they also like Water (,ui%Yin Water), such as dew and rain where water is most gentle. 'f there is no *un and -ew, then they will twirl on Trees (&ia%Yang Wood) to reach out for the *un so that they can bloom and earn our attention.
Yin Wood people are $uite the opposite of &ia Wood people. 5ne of their defining characteristics is their fle ibility and adaptability. Like twines that e!entually reach the sunlight at the top of the forest canopy, Yi Wood types always find their way in life. They ha!e a sur!i!alist nature. Yi Wood people are generally not ruthless and their ability to adapt to changes $uickly is always a strong point in their fa!or. These are people who a!oid trouble by ducking out of the way or slinking away until the trouble dies down. (owe!er, Yi Wood types also tend to be like grass in the wind % they are fickle and rarely commit one way or another. They change their minds $uickly and can be difficult to keep up with because they refuse to stick to one course of action.
