Lesson 3: Games Objective: Students will be using the information that they have learned to create their own

Solar System game. Content Standards: Science Content Standards: Earth Sciences 5. The solar system consists of planets and other bodies that orbit the Sun in predictable paths. Google Docs Instructional Directions Day 1: Students will begin the third lesson by going to www.sheppardsoftware.com. The students will play the astronomy game that has a lot of facts they might not have already learned from the previous 2 assignments. Essentially the students will be takng a quiz on what they know already. However, if the students answer wrongly while playing this game, they are given the correct answers. Day 2: Students will use the Quiz Cast App on their iPads and will create their own 10-Question game. This game is meant to challenge their peers and themselves while thinking of the questions and the different answers they will need to provide. The students will use their notes that they have been keeping in their Google Doc to provide the questions for their game. Day 3: The students will then have access to each others games. The students will get to play each others games to challenge themselves with information they already knew and information they might have just learned from the game.

Rubric: Astronomy Game Score of 1 Student does not play the game. Score of 2 Student plays the astronomy game and misses more than 5 questions. Student does not take note of the questions they have missed Student uses their knowledge from the precious lessons and writes questions that will challenge their peers, but does gives away the answer through their multiple choice choices. Students can easily choose the answer. Score of 3 Student plays the astronomy game and does not miss more than 5 questions. Student also takes note of what they have missed. Student uses their knowledge from the previous lessons and writes questions that will challenge their peers and does not give away the answer through the multiple choices.
