About Us A Personal Note

Like you, Im an avid recreational and competitive shooter. My father taught me as I have taught my sons in the American tradition, now an endangered culture: To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak The Truth. My first gun was the requisite Daisy Red Ryder with one of my mother's old belts as a sling. I've long since worn it out but I still have it. I guess some people just never grow up. Now I've been shooting in competitions of one sort or another for over 40 years and my products and services are the direct result of that experience. I'm sure you've seen all sorts of firearms products that do not perform as expected, primarily because many are designed by people who are desk jockeys, not real shooters. My employees and I put on thousands of miles every year traveling to national level competitions, actually putting our products to the test. We are constantly trying to improve our existing products and services and create innovative new ideas to fill the needs of serious shooters like ourselves. I also have a rather old fashioned idea about "customer satisfaction." You'll notice that we don't have any fancy fine print guarantees with our products. My policy is simple: if you're not happy, I'm not happy. I only guarantee one thing, your satisfaction. Ask one of our customers. They're our best salespeople.

Why JP?
You could certainly spend less money and buy a production grade rifle. However, production rifles are built with this general philosophy: produce a marketable product in high volume at the lowest possible manufactured cost. Our approach is completely different and cost control is not at the top of our priority list. Our goal is to produce a limited number of rifles and upper assemblies representing the state-of-the-art in performance and quality at a price that offers outstanding value. Rather than cost control, we worry about quality control and performance. The question I ask myself every time we have a rifle ready to ship is this: Would a professional shooter use this competition rifle at a national level event? Would I trust my life to this tactical rifle? If the answer is yes, it goes out the door. I understand the level of performance that the equipment must deliver in the hands of a professional level shooter because that is what I do. I compete at the national level and usually finish in the top 10% at most national three gun competitions. If Im not working in the shop, Im probably shooting. If Im not shooting, Im thinking about shooting or improving my equipment. Its an obsession. Ask my wife. I feel that there are four ingredients that come together to make for a really fine rifle. The first is accuracy. Of course, even production rifles can deliver fine accuracy these days. However, we have achieved reproducible sub MOA accuracy one rifle after another. This consistency is a result of extraordinary barrels, cryogenic treatment, proprietary assembly techniques and our unique single stage fire control system, which allows for superior trigger control. Of course, accuracy is of no use without reliability. That's why reliability is the second ingredient on my list for the great rifle. Our product is directed primarily towards the IPSC action rifle, tactical rifle competition and the law enforcement community where reliability is essential. We achieve high reliability through proper assembly techniques and tight quality control of our components, most of which are of our own design and
manufactured to our standards. Accuracy and reliability go hand in hand to get the job done in competition, and in the real world. Next, rapid sight recovery can make the difference between winning and loosing in a timed event or in the real world. Rapid sight recovery is the product of a controllable recoil impulse, the third essential ingredient on my list for an outstanding tactical/competition grade rifle. I believe this is the attribute that really sets our rifles apart from others. Through an integrated component system, including our Recoil Eliminators, adjustable gas system and unique operating systems, we have all but eliminated the impulse of the rifle caused by recoil and reciprocating mass. Once you have fired a JP rifle, you will be permanently spoiled by the level of refinement. Ask anyone who owns one. Now, take a quick look at one of our rifles and notice the attention to detail. It will be quickly apparent that cosmetic detailing on our rifles is vastly superior to anything you have seen. Many people think of our rifles as jewelry that shoots. The final ingredient on my list for the truly great rifle is impeccable detailing. An interesting thing happens when you build a product with quality and performance as the main goals; the product delivers outstanding value. Ask our customers if they feel that they have paid too much for our product. Most would say that our rifles and uppers are a bargain!

CTR-02 Rifle
This new design represents the culmination of years of experience on the part of the JP design team and the input of many experienced shooters. I can honestly say that there is no other competing rifle remotely like it in terms of quality, features or performance, regardless of price. Ask any of the pro-level shooters on the JP team. The new CTR-02 has brought their performance up to a new level. It starts out with our completely machined, matched upper/lower receiver sets. These parts are derived from 7075 T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, which is superior to the 6061 material commonly used in other machined receivers. Tolerances and exterior metal finishing are absolutely the benchmark of the CTR-02 receiver set, in the white, ready for anodize. industry. The upper receiver not only has the Art in metal. standard low rail for compatibility with any properly designed sighting accessory, but also the new Integral ACOG InterfaceTM, another JP innovation. The Trijicon Advanced Combat Optical Gun sight with the JP custom reticle is without a doubt the best optical sight of its type and by far the most popular sight used at most action/tactical matches. The military versions have been used by most US Special Forces with great success for years. Integral ACOG Interface TM, allows for a direct interface without any adapters to the upper receiver resulting in a semi-dedicated system that provides improved ergonomics and instantaneous sight acquisition when mounting the rifle. The CTR-02 upper receiver also features another new JP design feature, the Thermo-fit TM barrel mounting system, which results in the most stable relationship between barrel and upper receiver yet achieved in this type of rifle yielding reproducible accuracy in the sub-half-MOA range with match quality ammo. We have achieved test groups as small as .172" at 100 yards with CTR-02 rifles. Accuracy in the 1/4 MOA range is possible for those with the skill and the patience to do the work. The new CTR-02 lower receiver is equally innovative. Its slab-sided constructing results in greater structural integrity and striking visual appeal, and it is the first lower receiver with a large integral magazine funnel for easy speed loading.

Operating System The CTR-02 is available with two different operating systems, depending on the intended use. First, the new JP Tactical Operating System (TOSTM) with 416 stainless carrier is the setup to use when absolute reliability is required, such as police tactical duty. Secondly, there's the JP Low Mass Operating System (LMOSTM) for cutting edge competition performance with minimum recoil impulse due to reciprocating mass inertial effect. The combination of JP Recoil Eliminators, adjustable gas system and LMOSTM yield a nearly recoilless rifle with instant sight recovery. Again, this technology is not available on any other competing rifle. Trigger Setup Naturally, all CTR-02 custom rifles come with the complete JP Fire Control System, set up to your preference: 3 lbs. recreational/competition setup or 4 lbs. tactical setup. The JP single-stage fire control system, as installed by JP, has become the standard by which all others are judged. Compensator You may opt for either the original JP Recoil Eliminator or the new Bennie Cooley Tactical Compensator. The original Recoil Eliminator is still the softest rifle compensator on the market. The new tactical comp was designed by JP especially for top professional tactical shooter, Bennie Cooley. With his input, the JP design team created the most effective tactical rifle compensator to fit into the 1x3 criteria for tactical match or USPSA limited rules.

Hand Guard The JP/Viking Tactics Modular Hand Guard System completes the functionality of the rifle with its floating studs for variable bipod positioning, tactical sling capability and tactical rail adapters for the accessories you want to use. Cosmetic Finish Two levels of finishing are offered. The standard finish will be satin black hard coat for an impressive business-like appearance and high durability. For those who want a real race gun look or presentation-grade finish, we offer hand detailing and cosmetic IAI TM Integral ACOG interface for improved matching of the upper and lower receiver. All the raised flat surfaces ergonomics and rapid sight acquisition are straight-lined to a #800 fine finish and lower areas are satin glass bead blasted for a striking two-tone appearance. The lowers are black hard coat for tolerance- and performance-related considerations, but the uppers can be color anodized in your choice of matte pearl gray, or our new olive drab green. The presentation grade finish can be added on top of that for the maximum jaw-dropping effect.
What's important to remember about the CTR-02 is that this rifle is conceived, designed and built by people who actually shoot and understand the bottom line. It's more than the sum of its parts. It is a complete integrated purpose-built system that will place no limitations on your ability whether you are a novice or seasoned professional. Built as if your life depended on it, our JP-15 forged receiver rifle offers outstanding value. Ideally suited for recreational shooting, competition, pest control, ranch applications or home defense, it features all the great components that we're known for in a mil-spec forged receiver system for a drastic cost savings. Why would anyone buy a mass-produced rifle with nothing but standard parts in it when they could buy a JP-15 rifle for a little more? Standard equipment on the JP-15 Precision Rifle includes your choice of JP Supermatch barrels, from 16 through 24 in a number of contours, with the original JP Recoil Eliminator or the tactical compensator. Viking Tactics Specialized Tactical Rifles
Now with input from US Special Forces' personnel, we're offering a special version of the JP-15 forged rifle especially for law enforcement or military applications. Each Vtac/JP15 rifle will have the Viking Tactics logo laser engraved on the lower receiver.
All Vtac rifles will have the Black Teflon finish on the barrels as standard. The standard muzzle treatment will be the YZM Phantom flash suppressor. Compensators will be optional. Standard butt stock will be the A-2 with the Houge grip. The goal of the Vtac/JP15 will be to provide the most rugged, duty-reliable rifle with less attention to cosmetic detail but all the performance and accuracy you've come to expect from a JP rifle. Each Vtac rifle will include a Vtac sling and Vtac light mount and one 2" and one 4" tactical rail kit along with other accessory items for a great value on the total package price.

JP-15 in USPSA Limited configuration with detachable precision sight setup and Bennie Cooley Tactical Compensator. Note: both CTR-02 or JP-15 forged receiver rifles can be configured with detachable iron sights for USPSA Limited division or any iron sight application.
For those interested in USPSA practical rifle competition, there are now three regulated categories for equipment: Open, Tactical Optics and Tactical Iron. In Open class, anything goes, and in the Tactical class, the rifle may be equipped with one optic. The Tactical Iron category now allows compensators but not optics, meaning you must use iron sights. However, there's nothing saying that they have to be military sights. Therefore, you may use the new JP quick-detach, adjustable-height globe front sight for a rifle that shoots like it was scoped. Anyone who has used this type of sight knows the level of precision is on par with optics, provided you can see the target with the naked eye. Interchangeable inserts offer the ability to tailor the sights to your taste or to the type of targets you have to engage in a particular stage. I prefer the fine crosshair for most IPSC standard paper targets out to 200 yards and the small aperture insert for small steel plates and long range. The rear is a rugged A2-type adjustable sight without the handle and can stand up to the abuse of practical rifle competition or real tactical duty. The elimination of the handle feature allows for placement of the rear sight anywhere on the rail. Moving the sight forward about one inch creates a halo effect around the front globe and forces proper primary sight alignment. That's how high power shooters get such great accuracy out of iron sight setups. Proper primary sight alignment eliminates all parallax error, the main reason most people can't hit with iron sights. Also, for those short-range speed courses, you just flip to the large aperture and use it like a ghost ring setup. This sight setup can be added to any JP rifle, and you may have any number of optical and iron sight setups for a particular upper assembly that are pre-zeroed and quick detachable. This versatility is the true beauty of the flat-top rail system receiver.

Most avid shooters who own an AR rifle of some sort probably also have one of those .22 rim fire conversions. Ive had a couple of them and they sit in the drawer unusedIm sure you know why. They are not reliable, and their accuracy is terrible. Our .22 conversion uppers are dedicated upper assemblies that are not only reliable but highly accurate. They are the perfect practice solution for those who like to shoot their rifles on a regular basis in order to stay in shape for competition but dont want to burn out the barrels in their match uppers. These are about the price of a good custom Ruger 10/22, but a lot more fun and useful as a realistic practice tool. The savings on ammo is no small factor either. Even the cheapest .223 is five times the price of rim fire ammo. We offer two versions of our .22 uppers. First, we have a standard configuration as assembled by DPMS in either 16 heavy bull JP Premium .22 Conversion barrel or with an M-4 contour lightweight barUpper Installed on JP Rifle rel. We have had DPMS build this unit for use with their longer rifle-length hand guard, as we feel it is more versatile and will suit our customers needs. For those who want something out of the ordinary, we offer the same action with re-contoured and custom finished, high polished blue barrel in the JP CTR-02 upper receiver and JP modular free float tube. Bolt guns customized by JP have earned a reputation for outstanding performance in the areas of accuracy, cold barrel first shot predictability and extremely low recoil at a price far below what you may spend elsewhere. In keeping with our policy of high value, quality, and fast turn around, we offer a Bolt Gun Performance Package which can be performed on most bolt action rifles that you supply.
First, we have the entire barreled action and bolt Cryogenically treated. Cryogenic treatment is a process where the material is placed in a computer controlled environment of liquid nitrogen and the temperature dropped to 300oF, then slowly increased to +300oF over a 36 hour period. This is the latest technology for enhancing the metallurgical characteristics of steel. People in the machine tool industry have cutting tools treated to extend life expectancy. Racing enthusiasts have complete engines treated this way. As a result, the life expectancy of engines for racing applications is more than doubled. For gun barrels, the process results in enhanced accuracy, resistance to point of impact drift when hot and extended barrel life expectancy. We feel that it is the answer for cold barrel first shot predictability. The cold barrel shot is the one that usually counts. Ask any police/military tactical rifleman or any serious hunter. The action is then lapped for perfect square lug contact and the barrel is also lapped for a pre-break in treatment. The trigger is re-worked to a precision brake at a weight you specify (finished trigger weight may depend on the type of rifle or trigger). We install our Recoil Eliminator and match the contour for a seamless installation. What does this add up to? A rifle that dependably places the cold bore shot in the group, shoots sub-MOA with premium ammo. and has little or drastically reduced recoil, depending on caliber. My demo rifle is the Sendero in .300 Win Mag. Remaining recoil impulse is similar to a .243 with the lighter weight bullets. I can literally shoot it non-stop with no recoil fatigue.
Chad Peterson, my long range shooter at the ITRC has been able to shoot groups in the 2 range at 500 yards with his 300 Win. Mag. Sendero. That's sub-1/2MOA accuracy at 500 yards with factory barrel! It doesn't get any better than no matter how much you spend. Of course, don't forget, there is a bit of skill involved in that kind of shooting. Most people have no trouble getting 1/2 MOA accuracy at 100 yards, and thats nothing to sneeze at with a magnum caliber rifle.
I can't tell you how much fun it is to shoot a tac-driving powerful rifle that doesn't beat you to death. For the average person, a .300 magnum is extremely punishing to shoot. A trip to the range with 10 or 20 rounds is usually enough for a bruised shoulder. Gun writers who have tested our Recoil Eliminator report that the reaction they get from people at the range who try their JP equipped rifles is one of disbelief. Options
About rate of twist: We offer two options: 8 or 9 twist. The 1x9 offers outstanding accuracy with everything from 40gr HP to the 69gr HPBT match type bullets and is the best compromise for most shooters. The 1x8 twist barrels are biased for the heavier bullets in the longer barrels to maximize velocity. Accuracy is great with 55gr and heavier projectiles. If you want to use projectiles over 70 gr such as the Hornady 75 A-Max or match, or the Sierra 77 or 80gr HPBT match, the 8 twist is mandatory. Barrels
We offer our own line of barrels manufactured to our exacting specifications in a special configuration to mate with our components. These barrels are turned from the best 416 stainless alloy, precision rifled in 1:9 or 1:8 twist and cryogenically treated for outstanding accuracy and barrel life. We have had great results with a wide range of projectiles from 40gr to 70gr in the 1:9 twist, and feel its the best overall compromise for the type of loads you are most likely to shoot. The 1:8 twist provides great accuracy with projectiles from 55gr on up but really delivers with the Sierra 69 or 77gr Match Kings. The 1:8 twist with the long projectiles has become the choice of most tactical rifle competitors. Our standard chambering is the .223 Wylde as we feel it represents the best compromise between the accuracy of a SAAMI commercial spec chamber with a throat that will accommodate most NATO ammo or ammunition loaded with the new longer projectiles without causing dangerous pressure spikes. If you prefer the 5.56 NATO chamber specifications, the option is available free of charge. Our Supermatch barrels are available in a complete kit with JP adjustable gas system and choice of JP recoil eliminator seamlessly fit and finished to the JP cosmetic standard of #400 fine polish, just as we use them in our rifles. If you prefer to buy just the barrel in the machine finish without the brake or gas system, this is a low cost option. The lathe finish will be similar to other aftermarket barrels you have seen. However, all are cryogenically treated and feature JP design contours. These are an outstanding value!

Trigger Parts
Youve probably seen various attempts at trigger jobs onto M15 type rifles using screws through the receiver or welded on the trigger itself. Various levels of success have been achieved through the modification of stock parts. For years, the common wisdom dictated that only 2 stage triggers were a viable solution for the M15 rifle. Our friends at J&S Custom Guns in Lakeville, MN were doing a trigger modification using over travel and engagement settings on stock triggers for some time. This achieved a respectable result in some cases but long term durability was not always predictable. They agreed to have us perfect this concept by designing a completely custom trigger mechanism. The sear geometry and metallurgy of the stock parts usually results in losing the sear edge and a trigger that doubles after a few hundred rounds. The JP trigger is metallurgically correct and features engagement and over travel adjustments in combination with completely re-engineered precision ground sear geometry, eliminating most of the hammer camming effect so prevalent with the original parts. Disconnector timing is correct thereby eliminating the fire on release or doubling problem, when properly installed. The extremely short reset of the hammer ensures a durable relationship between the parts. The complete absence of take up and over-travel, and incredibly short reset, makes this fire control system the best possible compromise between precision and speed for action or tactical rifle competition. Again, this system is the choice of many professional shootersBennie Cooley, Jerry Michelek, Bruce Piatt, Tony Holmes, Don Bednorz, Taran Butler, Kyle Lamb, Tom Carpenter, Don Golembesky and many other pro level shooters use rifles equipped with a JP Fire Control System. Many well-known custom gunsmiths recommend JP components. Three other major manufacturers of these rifles use JP components in their fire control groups. What more can we say? The basic kit includes the trigger, disconnector, special spring set and six pages of detailed instructions supplemented with a 35 minute video on CDROM showing how to install, set up, and test the system. If you have a good mechanical aptitude and some basic tools, you can install it yourself. If you do not feel mechanically inclined or just dont have the time, send us your lower receiver assembly, and we will install the system for you and turn it around in only one week at a nominal fee. No need to wait for months for some other trigger system that will not feel as refined as the JP system and cost considerably more. The JP trigger system is compatible with your original hammer if it has not been altered. However, you may wish to add our high quality JP Speed Hammer for vastly reduced lock time for an even more refined system. We offer three different spring set ups. When ordering direct, you may specify any of the following. JPFC kits purchased from other sources will have the 3LB springs only. 1. 3lb. competition/recreational use, color coded yellow and included with all kits. 2. 4lb. tactical, also recommended for any AR10 installation. 3. 4.5lb. The New JP Speed Hammer is the perfect compliment for our trigger system. This low mass hammer gives a 50% reduction in lock time for improved accuracy and ignition reliability. Hammer fired ignition systems are notorious for slow lock time and the torque effect of the hammer accelerating through its arc is transmitted through the whole rifle. Try dry firing your rifle as you look at a 100 yard target and see how far the scope moves off point of aim. The JP Speed Hammer minimizes the effect for a significant improvement in accuracy potential. This hammer is so fast you can hear the difference when you dry fire. It's as close as you can come to the lock time and torque free function of a linear striker system in this type of mechanism. The JP Speed Hammer is not compatible with standard M15 trigger parts. The new design in made from laser cut cryogenically treated S7 tool steel, hardened to 58 Rockwell all the way through, not just on the surface like conventional hammers. It also features a precision pressed in stainless pin boss for accurate alignment. Improved metallurgy, precision geometry and notch preparation result in a durable high performance part. Now supplied with a "D" spring to retain standard grooved trigger pins.
JP Oversize Anti-Walk Pins
JP Oversize Anti-Walk Pins are the icing on the cake. Removing all the slop between the trigger, hammer, pins and the receiver results in that extra bit of refinement to get the maximum performance potential out of high grade parts. These tool steel trigger/hammer pins are now available in .156 for small pin and .172 for large pin receivers and feature stainless E clips on both ends for corrosion resistance. Trigger and hammer may have to be reamed for a perfect fit. No modifications to receivers are needed. The down side: installation is a bit more difficult and detail stripping the lower receiver will require a bit more care. Finish is black oxide. The "Poor Mans" trigger job:
Spending $140 or more for trigger parts on every M15 rifle you own may not be realistic. If you can't quite pop for our complete trigger kit, or have too many rifles and can't justify expensive triggers in all of them, then this may be for you. You can achieve a significant improvement over stock parts by using a set of our custom trigger/hammer springs and the Rydol sear compound. With proper sear and hammer notch preparation, a livable 4.5 to 5.0 smooth trigger in a rifle with standard trigger components is possible. It will not have the extremely short engagement/over travel feel like the JP trigger, but you will have a smooth "roll-off" feel that will give usable trigger control. The spring kit includes trigger, hammer and disconnector spring and complete instructions on how to prep your parts for best results. Or, send in your lower assembly and we'll do it for you, complete with springs, professional work over of your parts, and return shipping included for $65.00. Unlike other self-contained triggers, the JP Modular Fire Control Unit is not just a group of nonadjustable parts in a housing, offering a moderate improvement. Rather, like everything else we make, it is a professional grade component that will satisfy the most demanding user. The JP Modular Fire Control Unit is a single stage, pre-set, self-contained unit that will drop into any small pin M15 Mil-spec lower receiver. The housing of our unit is not a cheap stamping or aluminum component, but is fully machined from 300 series stainless and individually serial numbered. The trigger component is EDM cut from A2 tool steel and heat treated to Rockwell C58-60 hardness for long-term durability. The low mass hammer reduces lock time by 50% over standard parts and is EDM cut from S-7 tool steel with a specially prepped notch for the smoothest release. The disconnector is also a fully-machined part, not a stamping, that features full-width engagement on the hammer for lifetime durability. The module is fully secured into the lower with locking set screws so it will not "float" when you press the trigger like a non-secured module. Nothing is more annoying than a trigger that has free play in it. The JP Modular Fire Control Unit is also the only trigger of its type that is user adjustable for weight of release from approximately 3.5 to 4.5 pounds. A shooter may even choose to have a couple of these modules with different pull weight settings for competition or field/tactical duty use or for use as a backup in case of any failure at a match. Also included is our adjustable/reversible selector, which is the easy solution to the safety fit problem. No self-contained trigger module is safe without addressing the safety selector fitment issue. Only JP has solved this problem with an innovative, elegant solution. Our safety selector is adjustable to allow for a zero-tolerance safety fit to the trigger, and the lever can be mounted on either side for right- or left-hand operators. You may also purchase an additional lever for an ambidextrous setup. If you purchase some other drop-in trigger, you need to buy the JP adjustable/reversible selector anyway. Why not just purchase the complete JP setup in the first place? There is no comparison.

The JP Modular Fire Control Unit is currently available in .154 small pin version only to fit any lower except horsy logo large pin receivers. The JPFC-M is designed to fit standard forged Mil-spec receivers and will not fit universally in all receivers. It may not fit in cast, plastic or other machined form billet-type receivers. It is also not suitable for use in AR-10 .308 type rifles.

Heat Sink
New design The JP Heat Sink attaches to any new generation JP medium-contour barrel between the gas block and receiver resulting in a 700% increase in surface area under the hand guard. Tests show that most heat resulting from sustained fire is developed in a 2- to 3-inch area in front of the chamber causing throat erosion and reduced accuracy over time, not to mention the problem of heat buildup in the hand guard itself that makes handling of the rifle difficult or impossible. The new JP Heat Sink far exceeds traditional fluting for transferring heat from the barrel. It is intended for applications where sustained fire with excessive heat buildup is a problem, such as varmint rifles under hours of constant use. Our heat sink is an anodized, deep-fined 6061 extruded 2-piece sleeve, which attaches to any .650" OD barrel with eight screws. Fluting a barrel without subsequent stress relief can be detrimental to accuracy. The JP heat sink not only drastically improves cooling but also maintains a more uniform barrel temperature under sustained fire. Available in black, red, blue or silver, our heat sink gives a dynamic appearance in a contrasting color when installed under a JP high-grade free float tube. This part fits any new generation JP Supermatch medium-contour barrels and can also be used on any barrel recontoured to .650 under the hand guard. Call us to check for compatibility on this part. We now have our own purpose designed operating systems. For the no compromise competition rifle, the LMOSTM offers the most significant improvement in the felt impulse of the rifle as compared to any modification other than the addition of a compensator. The complete system consists of our new low mass bolt carrier and light weight buffer conversion kit. The carriers are CNC machined from aircraft grade 7075 aluminum with a super hard coat anodize finish process for long term durability. By reducing the reciprocating mass, the overall impulse as felt by the shooter is further reduced and bolt velocity is increased without significantly affecting reliability. JP LMOSTM equipped rifles have virtually no reciprocating mass feel. Reliability is excellent for competition use. I've been using this system for three years without a malfunction at a match. Most shooters using it understanding the maintenance requirements feel it is a great performance improvement. Some shooters have also reported fewer unexplained flyers in their groups with the LMOSTM system.
JP Low Mass Operating System
The JP Low Mass Carrier is specifically designed for the new type of civilian machined receivers like ours and the DPMS High and Low Rider series that dont have a dust cover or forward assist. Although it doesnt have the forward assist serrations or dust cover notch, it functions in military type receivers. It just wont allow the use of those features on the receiver.
System Requirements: The JP Low Mass Carriers must be used with JP fire control components only and not standard M15 trigger systems. In particular, it must be used with our Speed Hammer and reduced power spring system. This part is designed as a race gun component to provide that extra edge in recoil control for practical and tactical rifle competition. It is absolutely not for use in police duty rifles or military applications where lives may depend on function. The 7075 LMOSTM requires more attention and maintenance than our stainless carrier and requires ammo that is within dimensional specifications, delivering port pressure within the operational window of the system. However, it is the no-compromise race gun set up and the effect is nothing short of amazing. If youre not the type willing to put up with the higher maintenance requirements or not meticulous about your reloading, the 7075 carrier is not for you. Order the JPBC-3 low mass stainless carrier and low mass buffer to expand the operational window but still deliver a very noticeable recoil impulse improvement.
We now offer a new stainless low mass carrier which offers similar feel to the ultra light 7075 aluminum carrier, but with the low mantainence attributes of the JP tactical carrier. It's a great compromise between performance and reliability. It will also function in military forged uppers with dust covers. It just will not allow use of the forward assist.

Hand Guards
With the input of special operators from Viking Tactics, Bennie Cooley from CTRS and other highly experienced military and police operators, we've redesigned the JP modular hand guard to offer the best versatility of any hand guard system out there while retaining the light weight and cooling capacity of our original hand guard. During the design process for the new V-Tac Modular Hand Guard System, we made sure to address four key components of an effective rifle setup: Safety: Depending on the optic/sight setup, it was possible to grab the rifle in such a way as to touch the hot gas tube with our first generation hand guard. We have changed the outer nut design and tube completely shielding this area to prevent this from happening. The new nut also completely covers the transitional area between the receiver and nut, preventing the exposed tube from being crushed if the rifle is dropped on a rock in just the right manner. The chances of this are remote, but in a place like Iraq, anything can happen. A fringe benefit of this new design is the reduction of the thermal optical distortion effect from hot air off the barrel/gas tube rising in front of the scope or sights under calm conditions.
Precision: The tube is now secured to the outer nut with seven flathead screws for a rock solid relationship that will never turn and remain precisely aligned to the upper receiver. Thus, any accessories such as secondary sights, cowitnessed sights or tactical lights stay in precise relationship to the upper receiver improving accuracy and hit probability with those accessories. Versatility: Weve designed full-length rifle and carbine rail systems that extend the upper receiver rail interface forward at 12:00 on the hand guard, allowing for the use of co-witnessed IR equipment, secondary sights or flip-up iron. We also offer CAR shorty and mid-length versions of the V-Tac Modular Hand Guard System. In fact, we now have four rail lengths available, two inch, four inch and full-length carbine and rifle. These accessories allow a rail configuration for virtually any possible accessory combination.

Integrity: This design features a dual-nut system with a 6061 T6 outer receiver extension nut combined with a carbon steel internal barrel retainer nut that can be secured with a standard armorers wrench. This improves the overall structural integrity of the barrel/receiver relationship and makes it possible to achieve a precise 12:00 index of the tube regardless of where the internal nut needs to be for proper torque.
If you look at many of the hand guard systems on the market nowadays, most have permanent rails at the 6:00, 12:00, 3:00 and 9:00 positions. Typically, you only need one or two sections of rail, and in many cases, they are best utilized at the 1:30 or 10:30 clock positions, not 9:00 and 3:00. Having to deal with the weight and uncomfortable feel of all these rails where you don't need or want them is not acceptable. These are just another example of products designed by people who are not real shooters for customers who just want their gear to look cool and don't actually use it. The V-Tac system allows for complete flexibility. You can use as many rail systems of whatever length makes sense when and where you need them and can forget about rails you don't need. That's versatility! Free floating tubular hand guards for the AR-15 offer the greatest improvement in accuracy of any single modification. In addition to overall accuracy improvement, point of impact will not change regardless of how the rifle is being shot, whether with a bipod, sling or hand held. Assuming a good barrel and ammunition, it's not uncommon for accuracy to improve from 1.5 -2.0 MOA to sub-MOA with a properly installed free float tube. The V-Tac modular hand guard is designed as a complete system to improve not only the accuracy but the handling characteristics and utility of the rifle. The floating studs included allow complete flexibility in bipod positioning, whether all the way out for maximum stability or all the way in next to the receiver for fastest possible target indexing. Extra studs allow for proper tactical sling setup as well. Two-piece design makes for an easy installation with a standard armorers wrench with proper torque as opposed to a strap wrench on one-piece tubes. Theres no need to drill unsightly holes for studs that may not align after disassembly/reassembly of the tube system. All accessories can be quickly relocated at will. The radical tapered nut and superb metal finishing make this the finest tube on the market. The ventilated, fluted design is also 20% lighter than standard tubes and also makes this the coolest running tube in terms of heat dissipation. Posigrip center portion assures non-slip grip regardless of weather conditions The standard finish on all hand guards is now non-glare matte black. We also offer new matte olive drab and gray versions that add a unique touch to any rifle. Each kit includes two sliding studs for sling or bipod attachment, except for the carbine length, which includes one. There is also a tapped 10-32 hole at 6:00 center for a permanent stud.

JP Short Range Tactical Sight, shown above mounted on our hand guard, allows for fast reflexive engagement from point-blank to 35-40 yards. For a right-handed operator, mount the JP-SRTS with JP tactical rail at 1:30 forward on hand guard, cant rifle left and shoot like a pistol. Gas System
Our Adjustable Gas System is an integral part of our recoil management system. Most rifles are over-gassed and the resulting bolt slamming effect is a very significant part of the felt recoil impulse, which impedes sight recovery. We found that controlling the bolt velocity made for a much smoother shooting rifle. This easy-toinstall gas manifold allows you to tune your bolt velocity to a particular load and optimize the feel of your rifle. If you enlarge the gas port, it is possible to tune up or down in case you want to use reduced loads or in the case of some very short-barreled M15 versions, which are somewhat ammunition sensitive. You may also shut the system off if you dont want to chase brass or give a hot brass shower to your neighbor on the firing line at the range. Our gas block also gives a very professional looking way to eliminate the front sight on flat top rifles as opposed to cutting off the existing front sight as a makeshift approach to that problem. Our intent with the rail on top was to allow for quick-detach front sight, but this also allows for use of flashlights, lasers or any other accessory item you may have a use for. Dont be confused by cheap imitators. There are a number of copies of our product out now that are not as well made or are not adjustable. If it doesnt say JP on the side, forget about it.

Our AR composite thumb hole stock conversion kit features a high quality composite butt stock/grip tied together with an anodized piece of aluminum round stock permanently installed into the toe extension of the stock and heal of the grip for improved ergonomics and structural stability. Finally, the right fix for the loose upper/lower receiver problem. You can throw out that piece of rubber youve been stuffing under your rear take-down pin all these years. All its good for is eliminating the rattle in your gun. In reality, it does just the opposite of what it should. It pushes the receiver halves apart on a flexible interface. They still move when the gun discharges. The JP Precision Tensioning Pin actually pulls the whole upper assembly down and back on the lower with reproducible torque (for those really picky folks) and gives a rock hard fit to even the sloppiest receivers. Ask any bolt gun shooter, and they will tell you that a rifle loose in the stock will most likely not reach its accuracy potential. An AR with a loose upper/lower is no different. It requires no modification to the receiver. It simply replaces your rear push pin and drops right in. A must for the accurate rifle:

Unlike other case gauges, ours is cut with an actual match chamber finish reamer so it not only checks head space but also case diameter. A common problem for reloaders with high-grade rifles with tight chambers is out-of-spec ammo that will not go into battery. If you have a high-grade barrel with a tight chamber, this is the only sure way of assuring that your ammo is compatible. Most gauges only check head space. Some also indicate minimum and maximum case length. Only the JP gauge checks min/max headspace, min/max case length and case diameter relative to typical match-grade chambers.

Radical performance sums up the JP recoil eliminators which allow the fastest possible sight recovery and the highest level of recoil reduction possible. Our patented original JP Recoil Eliminator doesnt look this way because we think its cute. Every one of its features has a performance related purpose. Whether youre an IPSC practical rifle competitor, a varmint hunter, a member of a special military or police tactical team, or just a plinker, sight recovery is the name of the game. Theres a reason many top professional shooters use our equipment. Ask anyone who is using one of our recoil eliminators theyll tell you the effect is nothing short of amazing. Every gun writer who has reviewed this product feels it is the best device of its type that they have tested. One of my recent customers said that he was able to take a follow up shot at a prairie dog at about 350 yards with his AR15 before the first bullet impacted. If you are an IPSC action rifle competitor, that translates into blazing speed of target engagement with outstanding accuracy. On close range field courses with the M15 type rifle, your splits on double tapping paper targets are only limited by the agility of your trigger finger. The rifle will not leave your point of aim. designed to simply reduce muzzleflip by providing a thrust vector in the downward direction. My goal was to eliminate as much of the actual recoil impulse as possible, which is the main cause of muzzle flip. In other words, the JP Recoil Eliminator solves the problem not just the symptom. This results in a very neutral feel to the rifle unlike some brakes that depend primarily on the thrust effect. Ive seen a number of rifle comps that actually produce a negative muzzle flip, which is much more difficult to deal with than a rifle with no compensation. Your natural feedback loop can deal with a positive flip with considerable speed but not a negative flip. So, how does it work? Normally, when the bullet leaves the muzzle, high pressure gasses acting against the muzzle at that instant become a significant component of perceived recoil. Therefore, reducing recoil and the associated muzzle flip becomes a simple accounting problem. If you can merely vent these gasses before the bullet leaves the bore, you will create a noticeable difference. If you harness these gasses by directing them against an opposing baffle surface, a forward thrust is generated which counteracts the recoil impulse of the weapon. IIf you work out the numbers, youll find that the energy of the gasses from a .223 20 inch rifle possess about 70% of the muzzle energy of the projectile. If you do nothing with it, it is added to the overall recoil impulse. If you can utilize that energy at a fairly high level of efficiency to subtract from the recoil impulse, you can see the potential. The 11-inch M-16 shown in the video segment on the next page appears to be recoilless because the muzzle energy of the projectile from the short barrel is nearly equal to the kinetic energy of the high pressure gas that is being harnessed by the Recoil Eliminator. On larger bore rifles the effect is equally impressive. You can shoot a .270, 30-06, .300 mag. or larger rifles all day with no recoil fatigue. One of my demo rifles is a .270 bolt gun that I hold up with the butt plate about one inch from the tip of my nose and pull the trigger. The rifle just taps my nose. your face into the stock and tense your whole upper body to avoid having the scope permanently imbedded in your skull. Imagine how much your accuracy will improve when you can completely relax and not anticipate that punishing recoil. I have customers who use .300 mags for varmint rifles and fire hundreds of rounds in a sitting. The remaining recoil impulse is nearly linear so sight recovery is almost instantaneous. For police emergency rifle applications, it is even possible to spot your own hits. There are two additional fringe benefits. The gasses are directed up and to the sides so that the shooter is not exposed to the punishing concussion associated with other brakes on the market. Second, due to the shape, no dust is thrown up when shooting prone off a bi-pod, and it will not take the paint off your hood when youre taming those prairie poodles. At the 2002 D&L International Tactical Rifle Championship, my partner, Chad Peterson, had only a few weeks to prepare. This is a two man team event and he was the long range bolt gun man on the JP team using one of our custom Remington Senderos in 300 Win Mag. His shooting involved targets from 300 to 1000 yards. With the JP Recoil Eliminator, he was able to fire nearly a thousand rounds of ammunition in load development, zero acquisition, and practice without any physical abuse. Even after firing over 300 rounds in the three days before the event, he was able to shoot the match (another 150 rounds or so) with no recoil fatigue and turn in a top performance at the match. That would simply not be possible without the JP Recoil Eliminator.

In response to recent rule changes regarding compensators on rifles for tactical match use, we have developed an all-new recoil eliminator design. Rifle compensators used for tactical matches such as the SOF, WC 3-Gun and USPSA Limited Class must meet the new 1 by 3 size. 11-87 IPSC Open Class Shotguns
The new "open" configuration shotgun will be based on the Remington 1187 Sportsman, with 26" vent rib barrel, integral right or left hand biased compensator EDM cut right into the barrel behind the choke tubes, JPoint MicroElectronic reflex sight installed directly on the barrel and all the other accessories needed for a truly competitive open shotgun. Included are the Bennelli style extended op handle, custom made speed load carrier extension, Arredondo Tec-Loader feed ramp and 10+1 mag extension. The trigger has been reworked to a smooth 3.5 to 4 pound release and the action tuned for use with low recoil loads. For open class 3 gun competition, the JPoint Micro-Electonic reflex sight melted into the rib with our new mount is the ticket. Its profile is almost invisible and allows for unobstructed two eye shooting for maximum speed with bird shot loads and carbine like precision with slugs. If you intend to shoot in the USPSA limited class, tactical competition, or just need an excellent home defense shotgun, our Remington 11-87 Tactical fits the bill. Featured with a 22 rifle sight barrel with screw in chokes, the Tactical 11-87 will handle slugs accurately or pattern well with buck shot or bird shot. Magazine capacity is 8+1 rounds, maximum legal for IPSC limited or tactical class. We modify the gas system to allow reliable function with reduced recoil slugs and buck shot, which is a must for a controllable competition tactical shotgun and really makes the most sense for a defense shotgun also. There is no need for full power slugs and buck shot for a defense load. We install the Easy Loader extended follower for rapid single loading without having to hit the carrier release button-also a must for speed loading under pressure. We do a reliability work-over on the fire control group and give a crisp, smooth trigger release for controllable accuracy with difficult slug shots. The extended bolt handle also allows for quicker operation under pressure. Sling studs front and rear are included for tactical carry. Fiber optic front and rear sights make for a seriously fast sight acquisition and better precision on the difficult shots than the factory sights. Our 11-87 Tactical offers outstanding value in a competition ready package. Ive noticed that both Remington and Winchester now offer factory tactical shotguns based on our configuration for about the same price. Roger Sando, owner of Metal Joining Labs, where the fabrication of the JP recoil eliminators takes place, came up with this one. This is a drop-in part consisting of a slide stop with a control lever brazed on for the thumb of your support hand. This part gives increased flip control by allowing you to pinch the frame between the thumb and index finger of your support hand under the trigger guard. Roger gave me a prototype and after using it once, I was hooked. Normally, it takes a bit of shooting to get used to any new gadget, but after one session with the JP Control Lever, all my other guns felt like they were missing something. When I grip them, Im looking for the lever. There are other devices that do the same thing, but they all require holes to be drilled in the frame, and we just hate to do that. Thats the beauty of this part: it requires no modification and can be moved from gun to gun. Once you try it, youll be hooked too.

Feeding problems with your single stack 1911?
I know exactly what youre talking about. Ive seen shooters at every match Ive attended having this problem. The frustration of trashing a stage when your top round goes nose down into the feed ramp and locks up your pistol is something you can live without. Ive seen quite a few single stack 1911s that would not work reliably with extended magazines no matter what I did. I tried every possibility in overall length and bullet configuration, but nothing would cure this problem, and you just have to use those extended mags in order to be competitive in USPSA limited class with a single stack. This problem comes from a tolerance stack-up effect between the ammo, the magazine, the mag catch and the frame. The easiest fix is our JP Elevated Mag Catchall those problems will disappear when you install this part. By elevating the position of the top round relative to the ramp, the gun will perform flawlessly with any extended mag, and as a fringe benefit, reliability will improve drastically when feeding otherwise unreliable ammo configurations such as rounds with short overall lengths and large flat frontal areas like many defensive JHP (jacketed hollow point) loads out of standard magazines. Sometimes I wonder just how many home defense guns are loaded with ammo that will not function in them because of this problem. Dont find out the hard way. Our Elevated Mag Catch drops in easily, accepting any 4-40 extended mag button. It may require some minor modification to the mag well of pistol and some magazines. The JP Elevated Mag Catch is guaranteed to improve the reliability of any single stack 1911 type pistol.

Thats exactly what prompted us to perfect a modification package for the Glock that guarantees to improve your control and accuracy with these great pistols. While still retaining all safety features of the Glock, our trigger modification eliminates roughness and inconsistency from shot to shot and reduces overtravel to the minimum necessary for reliable function resulting in greater accuracy at higher speed. JPoint Micro-Electronic Reflex Sight

When I first saw this type of sight, I knew the JPoint had some real potential. I mounted my first one on a hybrid Glock 17L with great results and now have them on all my optical sight pistols. For most applications, I feel it will render obsolete other electronic sights. Its size and near weightlessness make it ideal for all sorts of applications that no other sight can fill. With our piggyback scope mount, its a great secondary rifle sight for close range or moving targets. On our custom shotguns, the JPoint is the only electronic sight I've used that doesn't compromise speed with shot shells for accuracy with slugs. It's truly the best of all worlds. For pistol use, the JPoint can mount directly on the slide, eliminating the slide/frame fit problem. and resulting in a much cleaner installation. On Glocks in particular, the slide frame relationship is poor at best, but the barrel slide lock up is very consistent. Thats why Glocks are capable of excellent accuracy with the open sights, but don't perform well with frame-mounted optics. So in my opinion, the JPoint is the only electronic sight to use on a Glock. Even on custom 1911s with good frame slide fit, it still helps to get the sight registered one step closer to the barrel rather than on the frame. In addition, you eliminate the mounting brackets that detract from the gun aesthetically and get in the way of ejection. The JPoint weighs practically nothing, unlike some electronic sights which add about half a pound to your gun. It stands up to the slide reciprocation and no, you will never notice that it moves. We make a 1911 standard mounting system that uses the rear sight dovetail cut for a drop-on mount. However, we're now offering a melted in mounting of the sight, which brings the sight window right down on top of the slide. This allows you to see the slide through the sight window. When you can see the gun, your natural point takes over for the fastest sight recovery you've ever experienced. Traditional electronic sights sit high over the slide and block your view of the gun target. Thats why you see people twisting their grip around looking for the dot on their optical sight guns, especially when they are shooting weak hand only. With the melted in JPoint, you can always see the slide pointing into the target, and if you can point the slide, you can find the dot. In fact, on very close range targets, you just place the muzzle in the sight window and press. Its like a big ghost ring sight. The JPoint also makes an outstanding primary or secondary sight on your rifle. As a primary sight, it offers the lowest possible overall weight and compact configuration on your rifle with usable accuracy out to 200 yards. As a secondary sight used in combination with a conventional long range scope, it creates a system that does everything well with virtually no added weight or bulk. Whether mounted on top of the existing scope or on the free float tube with a tactical rail mount, the result is an optical system with no compromise long range and short range capability. For hunting applications where long range shooting in combination with short range moving game in the brush may be encountered, this system cant be beat. We now offer 19 mounting adapters for a variety of applications with more in design all the time. Most adapters allow use of the JPoint sight on guns with existing rear sight cuts such as Smith & Wesson Revolvers and M-41 target pistols, 1911s, Glocks, EAA, CZ, and more. secondary sight on 1 scope tubes. The rear sight adapters fit right into the existing sight cuts on your slide and allow the lowest possible position of the sight without any additional millwork. A great way to resurrect an old single stack comp pistol and make it a state-of-the-art optical gun without putting ugly holes and mounts on the frame. Our S&W mount again allows for lower positioning of the sight than using the rail adapter, and the lower the sight is to the gun the better it works. Our new shotgun adapter actually attaches to the barrel using a high tech adhesive. You merely cut out a section of rib and glue the base to the barrel for a sight position that puts the window of the sight about even with the rib for incredible speed on steel target or birds and carbine accuracy with slugs. You can also continue to shoot off the rib in case you dont want to use the sight or you have a battery failure. Unlike previous similar sights, the JPoint has a much more intense dot and improved reliability. Even in high desert bright sunlight on white steel, the dot intensity is bright enough so that it's always easy to find. Because we have biased the sight for bright outdoor use, some flaring of the dot in low light situations such as indoor ranges is unavoidable. Placing a small piece of electrical tape over the top of the LED chip ambient light sensor area will minimize this effect. However, as the sight is not manually adjustable for intensity, some dot distortion in low light situations is unavoidable. If most of your shooting is in lower light settings or you're more interested in precision over speed, we keep a small number of JPoint 4 MOA sights with lower intensity dots specially for this type of application. Specify the JPoint-4P, only available direct through JP. A common question about the JPoint is: "How does it compare to the Doctor?" Every sight design represents a compromise between various attributes. The Doctor has a metal body and glass lens and is considerably heavier. The glass lens of the Doctor is more optically perfect than the acrylic lens of the JPoint but adds to the weight. The acrylic lens of the JPoint will have some minor optical distortion that is apparent only under intense scrutiny such as holding the sight up to a light and focusing on the lens. When you're actually shooting, you're never focused on the lens so this distortion isn't noticeable in live fire conditions. If you're focused on the lens while shooting, I can predict you're not hitting your target. The extremely low weight of the JPoint makes it ideal for applications such as our shotgun barrel mount and piggy back scope mounts which attach with a special adhesive. Low mass translates into low inertial effects for slide mounting or adhesive mounts and the sight/mount system will stay put under extreme conditions. The JPoint is also considerably less expensive than the Doctor and there are many more adapters from several sources for many more applications than are currently available for the Doctor. The JPoint is not for everybody, but is a great concept for a wide variety of applications.
Shims
New Product! We now have a one degree shim piece to correct problems with elevation run out on some applications. A common problem with these sights is running out of elevation adjustment due to point of impact variance on some pistols. Barrel length on revolvers and barrel fitment on many custom pistols can place the point of impact out of the range of internal adjustment on some sight/mount combinations. domino) to fit between the sight and existing mount. It's reversible to allow for more either elevation or declination of the sight.
The JPoint/ACOG combination has become the most effective sighting system in use by US Special Operators today. The combination of the two systems results in extremely fast two-eyes-open reflexive short range engagement and precision long range engagement and target identification. The JPA-TANSN mounts directly to the Trijicon TA01NSN version, replacing the existing aperture rear sight, allowing the JPoint to be mounted piggy-back for a secondary short range reflex sight. On all other ACOGS, such as the TA11 or TA31 series without the rear peep aperture, the JPA-TAS lower strap piece must be used to clamp the assembly to the scope body.

When it comes right down to it, as great a scope as it is, the Trijicons standard TA01 ACOG was designed primarily as a medium-range combat sight, and is not ideally suited for competition use. To better adapt the ACOG to competition use, we developed the JP CTR-02 ACOG, a new reticle designed specifically for use on flat-top M15 rifles and, in particular, the JP CTR-02 rifle, which is the first rifle of its type with a custom-designed optic mated to it as a complete purpose-built system. Because it is intended for mounting on an A2 handle mount position rather than a flat-top, the trajectory map for the TA01A is not appropriate for a low rail mount height with the type of loads commonly used and will become increasingly inaccurate at longer ranges. It also has 100- and 200-yard stadia lines on the reticle that are very close together and make the reticle a bit cluttered for practical rifle competition where speed is such a priority. We have eliminated the 200-yard line to clean up the view and to avoid confusion when seconds count. In the JP reticle, the main stadia line is the 200-yard zero. This zero allows for point-of-aim/point-of-impact shooting from 25 yards to about 230 yards without thinking about holdover/under, and that covers about 80% of your shooting demands at a typical match. The 100-yard line is really not needed because the 100-yard point of impact with a 200-yard zero will only be about 1-1.5 inches high, and you can live with that. In addition, the standard TA01 has a torso range-finding system built into the length of the 300-, 400-, 500-yard stadia. For competition use or any civilian application, that feature is useless. We are almost never shooting at torso targets beyond 200 yards at a match because we simply dont have time to score and tape them. Beyond 200 yards, we use reactive self-setting steel targets of various sizes. What we really need is information about wind hold-off. Therefore, Ive replaced the range finder with a wind declination system in which the length of the 300-, 400-, 500- and 600-yard stadia correspond to 10 mph right or left crosswind. With a little experience, you can extrapolate most wind-related hold-offs encountered under typical match conditions, which is a very useful feature. Finally, I've tailored the trajectory map to the 2.5-inch overbore height of the IAITM system of the CTR-02 or flat-top mounting using the TA51 mount and the type of loads used to maximize long-range performance for the most demanding match scenarios. In particular, with our 1:8 twist Supermatch barrels and the Sierra 77gr BTHP or Hornady 75gr match bullets, high kinetic energy can be delivered with precision on steel targets at long ranges. The combination of our rifle technology, the new JP ACOG sight, and these new projectiles result in a level of longrange performance never before realized with the M15 type rifle. Did I mention that the trajectory map is also calibrated for 2000 feet altitude? That is another often overlooked aspect of trajectory mapping systems; they are all calibrated for sea level use, and Ive only shot one match at sea level in my entire career. We need this thing calibrated for the altitudes where we do our most critical shooting. That happens to be in the western states at 2000 to 5000 feet, not sea level. For shooting at 400 yards and beyond, that can make the difference of a hit or a miss.

Now, for most of your shooting, which will be at ranges less than 300 yards, the fine-tuned trajectory map will not make any difference. Its nice to know that if you have to make that long shot, this scope is designed to make it possible. The 1:9 twist rifles coupled with the 69gr match bullets will also result in a very close match for the JP TA01 version. In fact, out to 300 yards, any load combination will be a very close match so you can still shoot the cheap 55gr ball ammo if you dont want to load your own or dont want to buy the premium ammo now loaded with these projectiles. Currently, the reflex sight concept is very underrated considering how commonplace red dot no-magnification sights have become for pistol and rifle applications. However, battery failure is the most common complaint. Trijicons reflex sights eliminate the battery by using passive fiber optics in daylight and a tritium light source for night. In addition to the standard Trijicon product offerings, we also offer our exclusive JP CTR-02 Trijicon scope. There are many great optical sights. I personally own many scopes made by quite a number of manufacturers in a broad range of prices. However, the more experience I have in competition and practical rifle use in general, the more respect I have for the Trijicon series of ACOG optical sights for use on M15 type rifles. That's why we have designed the new CTR-02 upper receiver with Integral ACOG Interface.
TA01NSN with TA51 mount
I've said many times that if I could only have one scope for the rest of my life, it would have to be a TA01 ACOG. It represents the best compromise between all the things that make a great rifle optic. It features a huge field of view at a useable magnification, extremely high resolution and freedom from parallax within its usable range. Most of all, the trajectory map incorporated in the reticle makes guessing hold over or trying to reset your zero for some particular range obsolete. Just find the correct yardage line and shoot. Did I mention that the reticle is night time lit with a tritium power source that will last for many years and not require batteries? The thing that continually amazes me is the groups that I can shoot with the TA01. The group on the lower left of page 9 was shot with a TA01. At .276 ctr to ctr dispersion, it represents the best accuracy potential of the rifle and the limit of my shooting ability. I can't do any better with a 20X target type scope. The key word here is "resolution." Don't leave home without it. High resolution glass is the key to accurate shooting with optical sights. The ability to resolve the reticle into your target precisely is essential for any serious accuracy.

There are many great optical sights on the market today in a broad range of prices. These are a few that I have used with excellent results. They cover the range of price from less than $300 to over $1000. You dont have to spend a fortune for a piece of glass that will do the job. Finally, a super high quality scope mount that wont brake the bank. The new JP mount has all the forward offset built in that you ever need for most long eye relieve scopes and short stock set ups. It has the optimal height over bore for a comfortable but firm cheek weld for most shooters. It is extremely robust with four recoil lugs and a full length clamp piece with five counter sunk flat head screws to insure perfect tension on the entire bearing surface of the rail and no big knobs or clamps to get in the way for a very clean look. It can be removed and replaced with 1/4 MOA repeatability. The upper rings are designed to match the contours of the CTR-02 upper receiver but look great on any receiver.

From the first moment I saw ghost ring sights on a pistol, I felt that they had some real potential for practical pistol or speed shooting applications. However, it was immediately apparent that the aperture rear sight was not compatible with the post-type front sights in use at the time. Your mind will simply not align a rectangle in a circle naturally; most likely, you will tend to vertically string on the target as your speed picks up. Dispensing with the post, I tried rifle-type bead front sights, and found that it was a dramatic improvement. However, that arrangement still Your next sight picture should had too much dead air around the bead, and you had to be very careful on look like this precision shots to ensure adequate alignment. Increasing the size of the bead or restricting the rear aperture to improve alignment was made at the sacrifice of field of view, and consequently the speed advantage was lost. This process finally evolved into our patented tubular front sight and DOUBLRING sight system, which are the fastest and most precise metallic sights I have ever used. Your mind has no problem processing the concentric alignment of the circles with the greatest speed and precision, and with the blaze orange fluorescent coating applied, losing the front sight while shooting becomes almost impossible. When teamed with our angled self-shadowing rear aperture sights, our tubular front sight gives a no-compromise balance between speed and accuracy. You actually have two types of sight pictures available on demand. For all-out speed, simply get the front ring in the rear ring, and youll have an A-zone hit guaranteed out to 15 yards. For real accuracy though, you can actually see your point of impact through the front sight for an extremely high-confidence sight picture. You cant beat it for steel targets in front of no-shoots, and for 50-yard standard exercises, you can shoot the accuracy potential of your gun with greater speed than any other metallic sight system. This is the first non-optical sight system that didnt make me feel that I was sacrificing something to a dot sight. In fact, on short- to medium-range targets, my speed is actually greater with the same level of precision. If youre like me, on the bad side of 40 with eyes that will no longer focus precisely on the front sight, this is a vast improvement. Front sight acquisition is the name of the game. In the past few years, as my vision has receded out in focal length, it became nearly impossible to shoot a tight post and notch sight setup. With the DOUBLRING sights, a tight front sight focus is not as necessary because your mind does a fairly good job at visually aligning the front and rear sights with acceptable concentricity even if theyre not quite in focus. Granted, its still nice to look at a crystal-clear front sight, and I have solved that problem with a special set of glasses, but at least I can shoot these sights even when I cant focus precisely on them. In fact, I call them my geriatric sights.

Now that weve had these sights out on the market for several years, we have had quite a bit of feedback. Customer satisfaction has been overwhelming. One IPSC limited shooter said that the sights brought his performance up a whole class, and he was actually winning local matches against Open Class equipment with his Limited gun. The newest versions of thes sights feature our own high-quality adjustable rear sights which fits in a standard Bomar, LPA or Kimber sight cut. Other versions fit standard 1911, Browning Hi-power and Glock. The Glock version is a drop-in, no-gunsmithing installation. We also added a Colt Gold Cup version with drop-in rear and cross dovetail front. The cross dovetail is the most popular custom pistol front sight installation, and that is what we have opted to produce. It can be easily fitted to your existing .330 or .300 sight cut as we have made the dovetail feature an oversized .330x65. Finally, theres a well-designed detachable and adjustable precision sighting system, with plenty of options to fit your needs, for the A4-type flat-top M15 using the JP gas block or rail-type sight block. If you have a flat-top gun with a fixed front sight, our front sight/gas system combination will give you a way to have both front and rear detachable sights. You may also choose to use our front sight mounting block to achieve maximum sight radius.
Detachable Sights
JP Detachable Front Sight
The JPFS-ALS is not a plain old military version but a Lyman #93 target globe with inserts for maximum flexibility and precision. This new design features .300" of possible height adjustment to allow use with a wide variety of rail heights and rear sight hardware. It has a slide-lock adjustment method with an additional set screw lock under the sight platform for added rigidity and easy adjustment. When used with an A2-type rear sight such as the DPMS shorty A2 sight, it allows the rear sight zero to be set to actual zero for proper use of the elevation dial. When used with receiver sights that have more elevation travel, our adjustable front sight allows for a lower overall sight plane relative to the bore, resulting in a tighter cheek weld on the stock if desired.
DPMS Sights
If a more rugged rear sight is needed, the DPMS detachable flat-top sight is the choice. Essentially an A-2 rear sight without the handle, this compact sight will attach on any Weaver or Picatinny rail and has the standard twin apertures for fine or course sight picture.
RPA Rear Sight
With its all-steel construction and precise MOA clicks, the RPA flat-top receiver sight is the no-compromise, heavy-duty precision rear sight for the serious high-power competitor, especially with the Gehmann adjustable diopter eyepiece. Pair the RPA up with then new JP Adjustable Front Sight for a great precision setup.
JP Short-Range Tactical Sight
The new JP-SRTS is the solution for supplementing a long-range optic or precision iron sight setup where fast, reflexive short-range engagement from point-blank to 35 or 40 yards is a necessity. The JP-SRTS is adjustable for point of impact and is quick detachable on the JP tactical rail accessory. Supplied with five colored front sight inserts.

SV Soft Air Replica

Soft Air Replicas make for great fun and extremely realistic practice tools. Some think these are just amusing toys. But Ive found the SV pistol replica to be a valuable training and practice tool that can be fired anywhere, even in the house. It is absolutely authentic down to the smallest detail in feel and function. It even has a 2LB trigger like my match gun. Accuracy is outstanding to about 10 yards. It will penetrate cardboard with the 6mm plastic BB ammo, but a towel is all you need for a back stop. I've found it invaluable for practicing weak hand, shooting on the move, and instinctive point shooting. It uses 134A type gas as a propellant and actually cycles just like the real thing. Mag capacity is 26 rounds, and it comes with a speed loading device. Shown with optional JP Doublring sights.

FOREIGN ORDERS Due to further restrictions on export sales by the US State Department and the time consuming nature of processing export orders, we will no longer accept retail export orders for gun parts. We will still process export licenses for complete rifles, upper assemblies or dealer orders in excess of $2000 US to countries that comply with our State Department criteria for exporting these items. Custom Guns
You may order a custom firearm directly from us by arranging to have it received by a licensed dealer in your area. To begin a project, we require a 50% deposit and the balance on shipment. Have the dealer that you have selected send us a signed copy of their federal firearms license with a note mentioning your name. It cannot be a faxed copy but must be a hand signed original. We will ship to the dealer upon completion, and you will fill out all the federal and local required paperwork on that end. The dealers must charge some kind of fee for handling a custom gun transfer in order to justify their existence and pay for their overhead. Expect to pay anywhere from $25.00 to 10% of the purchase price. It can vary drastically. We will contribute up to $50.00 for the transaction fee and in about 95% of the cases, that will cover it. If your dealer handles the transaction for a reasonable fee, make sure you support them with your other purchases. If you cannot find a cooperative dealer to handle the transaction for you, let us know and we can usually find a dealer or work something out with your dealer. Due to the fact that most gun shops are not interested in stocking specialized gear such as ours, we must market directly to you the end customer, just as Dillon Precision did years ago and thereby came to dominate the progressive reloading market. We also offer factory direct pricing to give you the highest quality and performance for the dollar. Most dealers recognize this situation and have no problem in helping you receive shipment of your custom rifle.

THE CUSTOM SHOP

DO NOT MAIL FIREARMS TO OUR P.O. BOX ! Call for shipping instructions and street address. For security reasons, we do not publish our physical address. When you are ready to ship a firearm for work, just give us a call on the toll free line for the shipping address. It is legal for you to ship your firearms to us for work and for us to return them directly to you without going through a dealer. You must furnish a street address for return UPS shipment. You must be the signee when UPS returns the firearms. We have to get the owners signature by UPS for legal return to satisfy BATF requirements. Do not attempt to use the postal service to ship a firearm. Use UPS or FedEx service only as they are the only services with access to our secured shipping area. Insure your contents for full retail value. Prior to shipping, remove all stocks, scopes, mounts and accessories from your firearm unless necessary for the work to be done. This will further reduce your risk and save you additional labor charges. If you use original factory boxes, we recommend inserting them into another plain box so as not to have any indication that a firearm is enclosed. Make sure that guns are well packed to prevent movement and damage in shipment. If you are shipping a rifle, wrap some extra cardboard around the action to prevent the trigger from punching through the side of the box and getting damaged. For AR trigger installation, it is only necessary to ship the lower assembly, not the whole rifle. For Glock Trigger Enhancement, ship complete pistol including one magazine for test firing. We will return your firearm by UPS unless you specify otherwise. UPS shipping/insurance will usually run $15.00 to $35.00 on a long gun and $30.00 to $35.00 on handguns with the new next day air requirement. If you do not have anything to ship your rifle in, we can send a hard case suitable for easy packing and shipping of your rifle with a credit card deposit. We can also arrange to have UPS pick up your shipment for an additional charge. Please include a note with your firearm detailing the work to be done, your complete return address, not a P.O. Box, and your phone numbers. Also record the serial number of your gun or receiver to aid us in our processing. If you would like to pay by credit card, enclose the number and expiration date. Upon receipt of your firearm, we send an acknowledgement out in the mail. However, you are welcome to follow up with a phone call. UPS and Federal Express both offer on-line package tracking services which will allow you to check on the delivery of your firearm to our custom shop.

Crime BILL UPDATE

The Crime Bill of 1994 has not been renewed and has no further impact on the configuration of our rifles. As JP has specialized in high grade competition type rifles, the bill had little effect on our rifles as our customers were not interested in the features banned by the bill. The only significant changes for our rifles will be the re-introduction of the 1/2x28 threaded muzzles on some of our barrels and the availability of formerly LE only configurations to the general public. Legal high capacity magazines will also once again be available in those jurisdictions where permitted by law.

A WORD ABOUT ACCURACY

It is difficult to shoot accurate groups without using the correct type and size of target for a certain type of sight system or optic. Go to our website (www.jprifles.com (INFORMATION/ACCURACY)) and download PDF file JP targets designed to maximize your reticle to target registration at 100, 200 or 300 yards with any type of optic. Print them out on any 8.5x11 standard paper.
When we talk about accuracy, we refer to it in terms of minutes of angle, or MOA. One MOA is just a bit over an inch at 100 yards or 2 inches at 200 yards and so on. Think of accuracy as a cone of dispersion that a particular rifle is capable of delivering with a certain load by a certain shooter under certain conditions. The cone of dispersion will increase in MOA under adverse conditions such as cross winds. Many things affect accuracy, the most obvious being the ammunition and the shooters ability. Parallax error in optical sights is a common source of dispersion that is often overlooked by the shooter, as are mounting systems that are not stable. Temperature, humidity, wind and lighting also can have great effects on accuracy. Follow the break in procedure outlined in the manual and keep your bore cleaned every 100 to 200 rounds thereafter to improve accuracy and barrel life. We dont make unrealistic claims about performance and dispense with the hype that you have probably heard from other sources. If you have purchased our product, you probably have done so because of our reputation- one that we have worked hard to achieve. It is unrealistic to say that every rifle will shoot 1/4 MOA groups, although that level of accuracy is obtainable with the M15 type rifles. We guarantee that our rifles will deliver at least one MOA accuracy with good ammunition. In other words, we feel that an average shooter with decent properly adjusted and mounted optics, and quality ammunition under good conditions should be able to achieve at least one MOA accuracy with our rifles or uppers. What is good ammo? It is not generic military ball. That is a poor choice for accuracy tests although some people have achieved sub MOA groups with military fodder. There are many excellent commercial loads on the market today along with outstanding reloading components. Every rifle has its own personality and part of the fun is getting to know your rifle. Experienced shooters with the patience to tailor their reloads will routinely achieve accuracy in the 1/2 MOA or better range with our rifles. One of my favorite recipes uses a Nozler 55gr Ballistic Tip, IMR 4895 and a Federal 205M primer. For my 8 twist uppers, my favorite combination is the Sierra 77gr Match King with or the Sierra 69gr Match King, N140 or Varget and Fed 205M. If you cant achieve MOA accuracy, call us and well go over your particular situation. Many times, problems can be diagnosed over the phone. If all else fails, ship the upper assembly back to us and we will test it with our optics and proven ammunition. If it doesnt shoot, well make it shoot.
Note: Even with the consistent barrel manufacturing technology of today, each rifle should be considered to have an individual personality when it comes to ammo and reloading. A particular load combination that shoots accurately with safe pressure in one barrel may not do so in another. Always work up loads starting with reduced charges and use tested loads from the bullet manufactures loading manual.
