SLOT 2 TIME : 2 hours ACTIVITY 1: ANT RACE Materials Required As in the Teachers Module. Suggested Instructional Sequence 1. 2. 3. 4. Ask teachers to form group of four and study the given worksheet carefully. Ask them to rewrite the worksheet in English and display it using mahjung paper. They do not have to draw the pictures from the worksheet. Get every group to present the task. Get feedback after each presentation.

Suggested answers Pernyataan Masalah (Stating Problems) : Bagaimanakah kamu dapat mengukur jarak yang dilalui oleh semut? (How do you measure the distance travelled by ants?) : Mengukur panjang laluan (jarak yang dilalui) semut menggunakan benang dan pembaris. (Measure the length of the track made (the distance traveled) by the ants using a piece of thread/string and metre ruler)

Tujuan (Aim)

(What should you do?) 1. Cantumkan dua helai kertas mahjung supaya lebih luas. (Paste / Glue two pieces of mahjung paper together to make it wider.) 2. Tandakan garisan permulaan. (Mark the starting line.) 3. Setiap murid memilih seekor semut. (Each pupil gets / chooses an ant.)

4. Lepaskan semut pada garisan permulaan dan pada masa yang sama mulakan jam randik (masa perlumbaan adalah 10 saat). (Let go the ants at the starting line and at the same time begin/start the stop watch. (The time for the race is 10 seconds). 5. Lakarkan laluan semut dengan mengikutnya menggunakan pensel dari belakang. (By following them, trace the track made by the ants using colour pencils.) 6. Selepas tamat perlumbaan, ukur panjang laluan setiap semut dengan menggunakan benang dan pembaris meter. (When the race has ended, measure the track made by the ants using the thread / string and metre ruler.) 7. Rekod ukuran panjang setiap laluan semut dalam jadual. (Record the length / distance of the ants track in the table). Accept any correct translations. ACTIVITY 2: Materials Required As in the Teachers Module. Suggested Instructional Sequence 1. 2. 3. 4. Ask teachers to form groups of four and study the picture given carefully. Ask them to complete the given instructions on the display paper (mahjong paper). Get teachers to present their work. Get feedback after each presentation.

Suggested Answers. Instructions: 1. Get a retort stand. Place a rubber band on the hook and clamp a metre ruler to the retort clamp. 2. Measure and record the length of the rubber band without weight. 3. Place a 50g slotted weight to the rubber band and record the length of the rubber band. 4. Repeat step 3 by adding a 50g slotted weight each time until the total weight is 250g. Accept any suitable answers.

DAY 12 SLOTS 1, 2 & 3: TASK DESIGNS TIME ACTIVITY: : 6 Hours 1 PLAN AND DESIGN

MATERIAL REQUIRED As in Teachers Module Suggested Instructional Sequence 1. 2. Teachers are required to produce a task sheet for each 3 lesson plans that they have prepared on Day 11. Teachers may use any three formats for their task sheet from the following list: MCQ Matching Labelling True/False Gap Filling Word problem 3. 4. 5. 6. Teacher have to study the lesson plan thoroughly which they have produced previously. Teachers have to plan their task sheets for all the three lesson plan. Teachers also have to draft out the three task sheets with the answer keys. Print out all the final copies and the answer keys.
