Part 2 Fill in each box with the information it prompts. When you are done with this step, all you will need to do is craft your responses into good paragraphs for your annotations. Source citation: Grandin, Temple. Thinking in Pictures: And Other Reports from My Life with Autism. New York: Doubleday, 1995. Print. 1-2 statement summary of the sources argument and conclusion: This source is very valuable to my research simply because the books author has autism and can give a special knowledge on the subject that others without autism cannot. She talks about autism from her point of view and discusses the certain tasks and abilities that are difficult to accomplish with autism.

Statement on the sources audience/purpose: The sources audience I believe is those who dont have autism. I believe this simply because its as if shes trying to get others to understand the certain everyday tasks that are easy to most are not easy to those with autism. I believe her purpose is to get others to understand autism more. Statement on the sources timeliness/appropriateness: The book is an older book but at the same time I still think that it has viable information in it. Since I was leaning towards wanting to know how those with autism felt rather than just statistics and facts about autism. Statement on the sources footnotes/references and special features(helpful graphics, use of new technology or technique, particularly significant breakthrough, etc.): Throughout the book she goes on telling her story and about what its like in a daily life with someone with autism but she also provides pictures for the audience to put a face to the story as well. 1-2 statement evaluation of the sources strengths/weaknesses/biases/usefulness to your paper: I believe that this source is very helpful because reading about her daily struggles with autism is very helpful in learning more than just facts about autism I think it gives the source a certain strength many other sources arent going to have. The only weakness about this source was that it was written in 1995 so it is an old source but still a very useful one.

Source citation: Happe, Francesca. Autism: An Introduction to Psychological Theory. Cambridge, MA: Harvard UP, 1995. Print.

1-2 statement summary of the sources argument and conclusion: This source summarizes the history of autism and the different levels of autism. One chapter hits on Aspergers syndrome which is one of the main reasons I grabbed this source because that is an area Im really interested in. The source ends in the chapter, Remaining puzzles: a look to the future which I thought was interesting because there is a lot that we dont know about autism to this day.

Statement on the sources audience/purpose: I think the audience is more focused on those wishing to learn more of the facts and statistics of autism rather than the stories of those with autism.

Statement on the sources timeliness/appropriateness: The source just like the other one I grabbed is a little outdated but at the same time still has viable information that I would like to use in my research.

Statement on the sources footnotes/references and special features(helpful graphics, use of new technology or technique, particularly significant breakthrough, etc.): At the end of each chapter the author puts a suggested readings paragraph which I think is nice considering many people will use that to find other sources on their topics. 1-2 statement evaluation of the sources strengths/weaknesses/biases/usefulness to your paper: I think this is a strong source because it has a lot of the information I was looking for when first starting my research. The only weakness of this source is that it may be a little outdated. At the same time though I love this source because of the fact that it hits on Aspergers syndrome and Im very interested in learning more about Aspergers syndrome which is another section of autism. All in all this source has very important information that I will use in my research.
