The Present Workshop
The present workshop is aimed at introducing Free

(NME-ICT) has been envisaged as a centrally
sponsored scheme by the Dept. of Higher
Education, Ministry of Human Resource
Development to leverage the potential of ICT. The
mission has two major component 1. content
Generation and 2. Connectivity along with
provision for access devices for institutions and
learners.
Indian Linux Users Group, Chennai is one of
the oldest LUGs in the country, continuously
active since its inception in 1997. It specialises in
grass root level work all around Tamilnadu and in
the neighboring states too. Under its guidance,
many local LUGs are active in colleges and towns
across Tamilnadu. ILUGC members are also in the
forefront of the FOSS movement at national
and international level.
Jaya Engineering College is affiliated to Anna
University, Chennai and Approved by AICTE,
New Delhi. The college offers 9 UG and Five P.G.
programmes in Engineering and Management. The
college is a forerunner in pioneering the cause of
Free and Open Source Software and its benefits.
The college actively involved in promotion and
adoption of open source softwares since 2005 and
has been constantly serving the student fraternity.
Intended Audience
College and University Teachers/ Professors/
Lecturers from any Engineering Institutions.
Workshop will be completely hands on. Lab
sessions will be arranged to make participants
familiar with course content.
How to Register?
You are requested to fill up the Registration form
with sign and stamp from your college and send
the same to the below address before 13.11.2009.
There is no registration fee. Admission will be on
first come first serve basis. The number of seats is
limited.
For outstation Participants
Travel support will also be provided for second
class train fare/bus. Accommodation will be
provided at the venue. All participants will get a
DVD containing Course material and other Open
Source software.
