PREFACE
We take an opportunity to present this project entitled COOLING WATER PIPING FOR REFRIGERATION PLANT in partial fulfillment for degree in Piping engineering. The object of this project report is to present our efforts taken during the course of project in the most concise, compact and to the point manner. This report is brief record of the tings observed, studied and experienced by us in carrying out the project work.

ABSTRACT

The function of a cooling system is to remove heat from processes or equipment. Heat removed from one medium is transferred to another medium, or process fluid. The cooling tower removes heat from fluid used in cooling systems within the plant. The heat is released to the air rather than to a lake or stream. This allows facilities to locate in areas with less water available because the cooled water can be recycled. The cooling fluid after passing through the refrigeration plant absorbs heat and needs to be cooled for its reuse. To achieve this, condenser or heat exchanger is used in which cooling water from cooling tower absorbs heat from the process fluid. The cooling water then flows back to cooling tower where its temperature is again reduced so that it can be reused.
