1..A case study on a manager unable to achieve production targets because of old machines.

If he installs new machines production will have to be stopped and th e company will have to incur cost of new machines, but this process will be benef icial in the long term. Also the continuation of production is critical to compa ny, what should he do? If I were the Manager, I would have gone with the installment of new machines. Firstly, I would ask to install one machine . I would note down the loss in prod uction and time. Based upon this data I would prepare an estimate on how much time and production will be lost in replacing all the machines. Then I will have a discussion with the workers and propose that we need to work for some extra time in order to compensate for the lost time and production. Since the new machines are more efficient achieveing the production target will not be difficult. New efficient machines will result in faster production which will convert into more revenue. So the cost of new machines can be easily and quickly compensated. Since there is a break in production , the workforce which is involved in furthe r activities like quality check, packaging etc will be idle for that time. I wil l utillize that workforce in assisting in installation of new machines. This will cutdown the time in installation of new machine. 2..You tation ly and ng the are the CM of a state . You have a coalition government . There is an agi going on in the state which might might turn big if not stopped immediate result in loss of life and property. Your supporting parties are supporti agitation as they have hidden interests. What will you do?

I will try to protect both the government and the people of my state. If govermnent fails there will be re-election which will both ad to the excehqu er and disrupt the functioning of comoon people lives. I will ask the police force to tighten the grip and take every possible step to curb agitation. I will call an immediate meeting of supporting party leaders and listen to their demands and ask them to cooperate in curbing the agitation. If the supporting p arties have valid demands and a compromise could be reached I will do that. Othe rwise I will ask the media to cooperate in showing the truth to the public so th at in case of re-lection the wrong party and people are not voted to power. 3..A person has been working with a company on contract for some 3-4 years. Now, he is recruited by the same company on a permanent position but the company say s he will not be entitled to all the benefits and perks that apermanent employee receives until he serves 1 more year with the company. He is already 35 and has family to support including wife and daughter. What should he do? I will bring the issue in light with the higher management and will ask them act according to the policies and promises. I will tell them that I have been an lo yal employee of the company and should receive the benefits of my services.I wil l also tell them that barring me from my rights do more harm for the company the n good becuase it will portray them in bad light both to the existing employees and also to them who will be recruited in future for contractual jobs. I will also try to know the reason behind their decision. If there is something to be done from my side as far as my competency is concerned I will ensure them that I will leave no stone unturned.
