The film industry consists of a number of institutions, including: film-making cinematography, film production, film festivals, and film

distribution. Most people spend their free time either in front of their television, lap tops, iphones, or cinema screens. Nowadays people and especially young children are easily influenced by movies. Due to the advancement in technology they have all kinds of access. Movies can be downloaded straight from the internet and there are numerous websites that can be used by all age ranges. Unfortunately there are many examples of pirated movies online. This means that a movie has been obtained and later reproduced and distributed illegally. Some movies that are not expedient for adolescent and young children are available for them online. It is difficult for parents to control their kids all the time, so they might not be aware of what their daughters or sons are watching. Adolescents and kids are vulnerable and easily affected by many movies. Often they try to imitate something they had seen on screens and are under great pressure. Overall, many movies that are released can have a harmful influence on adolescents and younger children.

To begin, there are a number of movie genres among which some can have more damaging pressure over children. Crime, horror, and thriller are the top fields that are often viewed. As young boys especially are growing up they start to have desires, particularly to play around with guns and other damaging instruments. A number of gangster movies are great examples to which

young boys look up to. Here are a number of top gangster movies according to IMDB: Goodfellas, The Godfather, The departed, Pulp Fiction, Scarface, The Usual Suspects, etc. In most of these movies the theme of narcotics, drugs, and guns are present. Many parents might not think about this, but it is very important to have some kind of control over children till a certain age since they might get involved in some kind of trouble. According to Child Trends Data Bank, In 2012, in 2012, more than one in twelve twelfth-grade students reported using illicit drugs other than marijuana in the past month. LSD, cocaine, and heroin are the top ones among illicit drugs. These are also drugs used in movies. Of course, other factors such as peer pressure and family problems can be the causes of children beginning to use drugs, however, movies certainly play a huge role. Also, a number of studies have proven that movie industry can have a negative impact on a number of different levels on children. One great example that proves this fact is the Payne Fund Studies which was developed by the Motion Pictures Research Council. The main goal was to discover the effect of movies on children in five areas: information, attitudes, emotions, health, and conduct. Each part proved how children decreased their abilities in certain areas. Information: many things were found in this area among which eight year -olds will easily remember what they saw in a movie for at least six weeks. Also, children of all ages tend to

accept what they see in movies as true facts and ideas. This proves that children exposed to R rated movies will have a negative impact. Other parts of the study proved the same idea, but with different facts. At last, one great impact that movies can have on adolescents and young children is violence. Some horrible examples are if we think back on the school shootings and many homicides committed by youths. There is so much violence involved at this early age. Other factors such as child abuse, bullying, poverty, and substance abuse come along as the causes of violence, however, research is proving that childrens exposure to media and film is one of the greatest causes. Most families own at least one television, if not two or three. It is not easy for parents to control all the time what their children are watching. One great advice would be to not have any television in their kids bedrooms. This way at least they will reduce the time spent watching movies they are not aware of. This topic can lead to many examples and it is not easy to solve this problem, but parents need to remember that what the behavior and action of their young kids is mostly based on them. To conclude, the film industry is expanding nowadays and children are aware of new movies. Most films do have a harmful effect on the new generation. Young kids are becoming more violent and drug usage is increasing.

Why is this happening may you ask? There is no straight answer, however, adults have the power to control their children. It takes time and responsibility to take care of a young kid, but at least the parents know that the good amount of time spent with them will have a positive effect on their future. Certain movies can be very dangerous and will have a negative influence if there is not controlling involved.
Nowadays children can get access to very influential information- they think what they see should be applied in the reality, especially in the cases when they watch movies. I share the idea that on one hand parents should be more careful of what they let their children to do- which electronic gadgets to use or even to have a TV in their bedroom, but on the other hand I support the idea of finding some better solution for limiting the access to these movies within the film industry. As they are the creators of movies, they are the ones that should act more responsible when it comes to creation of an impact on children. When man comes home after days work, he needs some sort of entertainment and relaxation. Cinema has proved a wonderful and forceful means of entertainment and amusement. A young man of today can go without food but not without a film. The cinema is the cheapest and the most popular form of amusement. Laborers can afford to miss their evening meal, not their evening show. Students prefer films to reading books. Thus, cinema exercises a very powerful effect on society. Cinema is a universal teacher. It educates the people in different branches of learning. Our film producers have made very purposeful films to collect public opinion against some of the social evils as dowry system, the labour exploitation. It can teach us natural history, geography, botany, chemistry etc. Documentary films lead us to a street in New York are to a park of Tokyo. These films increase our knowledge, broaden our outlook. Social pictures throw light on social evils as untouchability, casteism, unemployment and the curse of widowhood, etc. These films ripen our eyes and create in us an urge for improvement. Cinema has a great commercial value also. It is itself a great industry, Lacs of men and women are directly or indirectly employed in this industry. It is a good and easy means of advertisement. Things and articles can be shown in practical use through the films. Most of the modern Indian movies ignore higher ideals. It is wrong to say that the public wants vulgarity. Too much cinema going is injurious to eyesight, health and purse. Bad films leave a very vitiating effect on the minds of youth. They give rise to different kinds of crimes. The vulgar obscene pictures should not be allowed to be exhibited. They cause morality in society.

The films which make the people gamblers, dacoits, etc. should totally be banned. The traders of film industry should not be ill owed to profit by showing sensual scenes and physical demonstration of love. These films effect the moral character of young boys and girls badly. Cinema, on the whole, is a powerful means of recreation as well as of education. It is not itself bad. The film producers should select good stories classical mythology, historical subjects and Indian literary master-pieces. Documentary films on scientific, historical and literary subjects should be shown to students. The producers are misusing cinema for making huge profits. It should be moral duty of producers to produce noble and inspiring films. The Government should take care of this. If cinema industry produces noble and inspiring films, the cinema would be a true friend, philosopher and guide of the masses. Movies nowadays leave a great impact on the minds of people. The effect of cinema on youth can be easily observed. Not only its effect can be seen on the elders of rural and urban areas but on the children as well. It cannot be said that all the films are corrupting youth. There are films like BAGHBAN which was a family film and made us learn a lot .The current films are more of action, thriller, romance, robbery etc. The youth tries to imitate each and everything which is in the films and this reflects in their dressing style, their driving, their way of talking etc. The people start imagining themselves in the story lines of those films. Girls and boys, especially in the age of 15-21, are the easiest preys. The dialogues, the dressing style of the actor becomes the latest trend for the youngsters. They try to imitate what all goes in films and without understanding that some part of it might leave a negative impression on them. Knowingly or unknowingly the films molds the youth of today in one way or the other and effect of cinema on youth can be seen widely. Even the youngsters in rural areas are so much affected by the movies, that they place the heroes of the film in a very integrated part of their minds. They try to change their lifestyle according to the films, starting from hairstyle, clothes, dialogues and so on. Even the advertisements or ads what we call, are no less. Its human nature that we mostly follow the one whom we appreciate the most. There are ads that bring on actresses and actors for promoting a product in such a way that may lead the youth to some bad phase. In the films today when the daily crimes, murders, robberies are shown some people take it in a wrong way and they purposely learn how to commit such crimes. They learn the tricks and tactics used for crimes in the films. In many films, stunts are being performed, the teenagers try to copy such stunts on their bikes and cars which many a times lead to severe accidents. Also now abuses are so common in almost all the films that even a kid of 10 years is able to speak such abusive language knowingly or unknowingly. Harassment and rapes have increased because of the free and western culture shown in films today. On the other hand, there are films like Rang De Basanti, which is a wonderful film and films like NAYAK, are ideal lessons for the politicians of this country. But this remains restricted only in the films whereas in the real life, corruption is increasing day by day. There are family films which give such good morals to the youth but the people just watch them, gets influenced for some time and forget the moral as soon as the film gets over.

Hats off to the film makers like Ashutosh Govarikar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali as they never use vulgar scenes in their film to make it work on the box office and earn a lot of business. Certain restrictions should be made to the use of vulgarity or show off so that every film is rated as a FAMILY FILM or U/A and not rated as a B-GRADE film or an ADULT film . Moreover the screening of foreign films and an increase in cinema halls will trigger the competition and encourage local producers to make better movies and hence it will lead to such exposure which will ultimately affect todays teenagers and even the small kids. But ultimately its WE or the individual, on whom everything depends on. Everything depends on a person what he/she gains from the films. We should see the films to enjoy and learn good things and not let the bad things affect us. Effect of cinema on youth is a notion to be thought upon and concerned. So, beware of what you see and what you gain.
We often find a street hawker humming a popular tune of one or the other film song. We hear many young children debating about the screen performance of one or the other hero heroine. We see people imitating the styles of the actors and actresses. Film songs are the most important source of entertainment. Film stories provide enough matter for discussions. Fashions take their origin from cinemas and manners are copied from the film stars. The impact of cinemas on the young is the deepest. A film star is an idol for them. They try to dress themselves like him and try to act like him. Many crimes are committed because the criminals want to act like a particular hero. Some adventurous youth makes advances to a girl, imitating a hero of a film story, and find themselves in trouble. Dancing has become popular in Indian films; we find the youths and the children gyrating in various funny and clumsy manner. Cinema is one of the entertainments which is taken wry seriously by young. They sacrifice their studies and make a beeline to the altar of the film. They steal, beg or borrow to see a popular movie. This has made them irresponsible as human beings. Cinema thrusts a powerful cultural influence on our nation. Our films have brought villages and towns closer and different provinces nearer. A few words from Hindustani and a few words from a dialect spoken in Remote Tamil Nadu make a popular song. A few characters from Gujarat, a few scenes from far-flung Kashmir make the story.

It has prepared the ground for bringing social reforms. Social evils like prostitution, black-marketing and dowry have been embedded in the stories. People develop emotional sympathy and prepare themselves mentally for the change. Indian cinema covers so vast a field that no one escapes its influence. The elderly people go to see some religious films, children have films meant for them and the young find love stories quite absorbing. It helps the poor to forget about his poverty and the rich to forget about money-spinning activities. It make us cautious of the realities of life and helps us avert the wrong paths in our life.
itle: EFFECT OF MOVIES ON YOUTH Youths are both benificial and affected with cinemas It has drastic effect on illiterated youths than literated. Also nowadays the cinema media is only concentreating on lust and songs rather than stories and messages. In the name of fashion they are spoiling the dressing sense of the youths. They say they do different concepts but do the same concept in different styles. They are creating an image that Love is the main theme of life by creating films purely based on love background. It has more serious disadvantages than the advantages. Youth imagine themselves to be heroes and heroines and just blindly behave in their own way. It also affects their way of thinking by taking the wrong information. However media cannot be blamed for this effects as it is the whole responsibility of them to take the good things alone. Cinema surely affects the youth. They try to imitate the life styles of their hero in the movie. The type of movie one watches affects his personality and way of thinking. One who likes action movies may some times have an aggressive attitude towards anything. Current scenario, youth want some excitment in movie.Excitment in the sense action, romance or society relationship.Certainly some films help like Rang de basanti and some cinema gives motivaion for struggling in life. Nowdays most of the youth not interested to watch movie with their parents. They want with either friends or with girlfriend/boyfriends so movies/Directors are also considering this fact to attract. And put some excitment in movie. In all i think cinema did affect youth in positive as well as negative way.but this depends on youth for what he/she wants to take from it. Cinema has a key role in youth life.Because they follow what ever they did say.Its real fact.good or bad they are ready to follow. But everybody didn't follows everything. Some of then follow some things. Well, I guess everything here have some positive as well as negative...

Everyone needs entertainment to take their minds away from the boring chores of everyday life. This entertainment can be in the form of music, movies, plays, and various other activities. The most common forms of entertainment are movies, which are watched by people of all ages. There is such a great amount of people that watch movies, that they now have to be rated for different age groups. Movies are entertaining, but some movies can have a negative effect on their audience. Little children may watch animated movies on their favorite superhero, which does supernatural things, or on some other character they admire, like Mickey Mouse, who does all sorts of things that are not possible in real life. These movies can lead children into thinking that they too can do all these things.

People may argue that these children have a mind that makes them want to do crazy stuff, but there is another perfect example of films having a negative influence, are teenagers. If this age group watches movies about a certain topic, they are greatly influenced by it. Other young people may watch action movies, and the violence in these movies also has an effect on their minds. It makes them think more about violence and extremism, and may lead them into committing crimes and other acts that can hurt others. These young people may watch their favorite actors do other things that are disliked in society. Their favorite actors and characters may take drugs, like smoking cigarettes in their shows and movies, which negatively influences the young audience and they may begin smoking too, or they may think that it is cool or it will raise their social status. Although some movies have a negative effect on their audience, others may have a positive effect too. There are many educational movies out there that are informative. These movies are very few in number as compared to other movies that are not as informative. These movies are not liked by the young audience, so many movies are mostly a bad influence on young people. Effects Of Watching Scary Films Anxiety A visible effect of horror movies on both children and adults is anxiety. It is characterized as a long-term effect on children, which may even linger into their adulthood. Sleeplessness An immediate psychological effect of scary movies on the minds of people is lack of sleep. The person may be unable to sleep through the night for few days, even months after watching the movie. He/she may need to use a nightlight while sleeping. The thoughts of the horrifying characters of the horror movie and the situations may haunt him/her, leading to sleepless nights. This condition last for a week to even a year. People tend to develop Insomnia and nightmares; though insomnia might be harmless, repeated occurrence of nightmares might lead to chronic insomnia which in turn affects the mental and physical health. Fear The hangover of horror movie is largely characterized by a fear. The person may become afraid of the darkness, or cling to the companion while sleeping. He/she may cry, scream, tremble, shake or even nauseate, if the horror film has really scared him/her. Fear of losing control, fear of dying are also associated with the horror movies. Phobia As a result of watching the situations portrayed in the horror movie, the person may develop a phobia towards animals such as mammals, insects, reptiles, fire, flood, water, blood/injection/injury or height and enclosed spaces. He/she may get disturbed by loud noises or horrible faces. Mental Trauma

People generally tend to develop a mental trauma after viewing some of the disturbing images. Post-traumatic stress disorders are very common among people though experts argue that these people undergo sufferings from real life events. The problem is that if a person develops posttraumatic stress disorder after watching a movie, they are not able to draw a fine line between reality and fiction. Horror movie buffs should frame their minds in such a way that their mind is mentally stable. Otherwise, this might lead to a state of depression. Behavioral Changes People who watch a horror movie which includes bloody scenes in it have the chances of getting affected by the violence and horror of the movie which in turn transforms the behavior of the person. They go on to believe that violence can sometimes be used to resolve a conflict. It also makes a negative impact to the reflex changes of a person. Such people get shocked when faced with such a situation. Desensitization Watching a horror movie has some advantages too. Watching them on a regular basis tends to desensitize a person to violence which creates an impact on the behavior of the person. They become less startled when they face tough situations in real life as they are used to such anxious situations. These movies also become an effective tool to treat fears and phobias. While therapists search for a way to desensitize a person from fears and anxieties, this can be a perfect platform for such treatments.
