1. Ticket to criminal candidates - It is not new that criminals are politician in India.

In UP if you see the ratio, itll double I believe. The figure of 57 is exaggerated. Most politicians (including Shri Shri Kejriwal & co http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2013-1126/news/44486901_1_aap-criminal-cases-arvind-kejriwal) has criminal cases against them. Most of the cases are political in nature. At no point am I defending fielding of criminal candidates, but we must not forget Indian Constitution/IPC which says Innocent till proven Guilty. However, it is no excuse for Modi/BJP to have criminal candidates. Politicos proved in scams and murder (5-7 out of 57 mentioned) must be dethroned immediately. But as I am asked to defend, here are my arguments: As for Amit Shah, he was the home minister when Sohrabuddin encounter took place. Sohrabuddin was a terrorist linked with Dawood Ibrahim. I believe that the case against him is bogus in this scenario (timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/BJP-welcomes-CBIs-clean-chit-toAmit-Shah-in-Ishrat-Jahan-fake-encountercase/articleshow/29965657.cms) Also a point to be noted on the Ishrat Jahan case Congress leader and Himachal Pardesh CM Virbhadra Singh's daughter 'Abhilasha Kumari', is the Judge in Ishrat Jahan case. I dont see how this is right? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishrat_Jahan_case#Further_investigation) Also from the same report of HT - Average asset for every BJP MLA is R5.82 crore while for every Congress MLA, average asset is R12.36 crore, Chhokar said. Proves nothing but well as they (HT) intended to make this big news! Before it comes up YES, I am against BJP giving Yeddyurappa a ticket. He shouldnt be entertained and be in Jail right now. 2. RTI: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/RTI-queriessurge-in-Gujarat/articleshow/30960816.cms . As you can read in this article that the number of RTIs has increased by 142% in a year (obviously mostly people trying to find dirt against Modi), I believe the government doesnt have the resource to answer them with that rate. Many people can ask but few can answer with other key issues at hand. Apart from that, http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/rajkot/RTIactivist-gets-compensation-for-delay-ininformation/articleshow/28025738.cms Gujarat Govt promoting usage of http://www.oneforindia.org/projects/anticorruption2.php RTI -

3. Gujarat Lokayukta Act I cannot find any information available on the web to defend this and neither am I any good with legal aspects. Sorry, I cannot defend this. Maybe someone else can 4. Riots: Sir, have you read about the communal tension in Gujarat before 2002? Justice Reddy Commission identified 2398 instances of communal violence in Gujarat between 1960 and 1969 - that is THREE riots every FOUR days during the decade. 1969: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1969_Gujarat_riots 1985: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_Gujarat_riots 1992:http://www.ccdgujarat.org/uploads/articles-english/03communalism-and-riot-communal-violence.pdf For more info: http://www.outlookindia.com/article.aspx?217988 And the smaller ones that you talked about in your article are many before 2002 like in 1982 (in Baroda), 1986 (in Ahemdabad), April to December 1990 (nearly 1400 communal incidents), January April 1991 (120 incidents), 1990 (in Ahemdabad), 1991 (in Baroda), 1998 (in Bardoli, Sanjeli, Gujarat), in 1998 (Ahwa and Dang district of Gujarat), 1999 (in Surat), 2001 (In Ahemdabad). After 2002, such frequent incidences have been reduced and no major riot. Please ask the writer to update the facts taking Gujarats history into consideration? Out of the first 4 points, 3 have been answered. The 5th point is pretty big, Ill have to dig around more. Sometime later
