MODELS AFFECTED / SERIAL NUMBERS AFFECTED: imageRUNNER 105/8500/85/7200/7105 Series SUBJECT: Troubleshooting E069 Issues This Technical Publication has been revised to include the imageRUNNER 7105 Series engines in terms of the Fixing Roller assembly procedure being followed. GENERAL: If an E069 issue should occur in the field, certain areas should be checked to prevent this occurrence. DETAILS: Fuser Assembly: The Collar may be placed in the wrong place or not installed at all. With the Collar missing and/or installed incorrectly, the Upper Fuser Roller will be positioned too far forward and push up against the Bearing causing friction and produce metal shavings. [See pages 2 of 4 and 3 of 4] HVT Assembly: When the Transport Bed is pushed into the machine and the Lever is lifted to lock the Transfer/Separation Corona into place, the Contact on the HVT may spread after awhile causing poor contact and start to arc. [See page 2 of 4] OTHER MEASURES TO CHECK: SP-Mode: Turns ON/OFF the separation output correction mechanism 0 = Standard Mode (default) 1 = Low Voltage Mode Transfer/Separation Corona Lock Bracket: Check for side-to-side movement of the Transfer/Separation Corona Assembly caused by the Lock Plate bracket being twisted. Reform it Clockwise to produce a snug fit, which prevents the Transfer/Separation Corona from moving.
