With the development of the bolt action rifle 98 towards the end of the 19th century, the Mauser brothers set a milestone in gun making history. Up until today the 98 action has formed the basis for the hugely successful models M 98 and M 98 Magnum. The M 98 action today is manufactured according to the original drawings but with the most modern of manufacturing methods.

By launching the M 66 in 1966, Mauser introduces a new bolt action rifle which is thoroughly tailored to the demands of hunting. The revolutionary telescopic construction makes it approx. 6 cm shorter than the M 98 action while accepting the same ammunition. Just like the M 98, the M 66 system lays the foundation for extremely rugged bolt action technology.

Target-driven design, perfect balance and excellent trigger characteristics: These are the Mauser values I have come to know and appreciate after decades of extensive hunting. Even though the M 12 is machined out of solid steel, it is surprisingly light and easy to handle.
Technical attributes and accuracy of the M 12 are enhanced by its elegant design features including a classic straight Prince of Wales stock, pistol grip, fine checkering and wood scalloping around the receiver. A short 60 bolt lift and non-slip bolt handle knob enable fast and smooth repeating with a double ejector ensuring strong ejection of the cartridge. Direct locking in the barrel via 6 large locking lugs results in optimum shooting performance, maximum stability and utmost

safety for the hunter. Highest safety demands are met by the enhanced, easy-to-handle 3-position safety SRS (Smooth Roll Safety) which acts directly on the firing pin. A roll on the inside of the safety provides an easy, precise and low-noise operation. The firing pin flange prevents the cartridge from igniting unless the chamber is completely closed. The crisp and clean (2lb) trigger pull promotes very accurate shooting. Loading the M 12 is easy, either from above via the distinctive wide Mauser loading breach or using the high capacity, detachable zigzag magazine.

In order to change barrels, simply loosen the captured barrel bushings on the fore-end. M 03 S YSTEM
The M 03s safety and reliability as well as its versatility are achieved by a clever pairing of modern materials and technical design. The alliance of various factors such as the solid steel action and high quality-trigger in combination with the straight stock and cold hammer forged barrel result in the M 03s exceptional precision and performance.

Mauser Manual Cocking Safety System: The M 03 is cocked manually just prior to shooting. Cocking: Move the cocking lever to the right into the Fire position (Fig. 1). De-cocking: Press the de-cocking button; cocking lever slides back to the Safe position (Fig. 2).

Bolt Lock: In the un-cocked status the bolt is locked to prevent unintentional opening. It can be opened by pushing the cocking lever beyond the S position without cocking the rifle (Fig. 3).

Advanced Magazine Construction Detachable magazine. Open Receiver enables rapid, easy loading from above even with inserted magazine (Fig. 4). High magazine capacity, lockable magazine release button for tough hunting conditions the magazine can be reliably secured against loss.

Mauser Double Square Mount Every M 03 action comes prepared for the Original Mauser Double Square Mount (DSM) as standard: The DSM allows for very low scope mounting with optimum return-to-zero accuracy for all standard scopes and red dot sights. The scope is easily mounted and locked (Fig. 7).

Action and Locking The action is locked via 6 large locking lugs directly into the barrel (Fig. 5). Small Bolt Lift: 60.

Mauser Trigger System Crisp single stage trigger as standard (approx. 1,500 g / 3 1/4 lbs). Combi trigger on request (Not available in the US. Fig. 6) with adjustable set trigger (approx. 1,000 g / 2 1/8 lbs direct; set trigger pull weight approx. 100 300 g / 3 1/2 10 1/2 ozs). The set trigger automatically unsets when the rifle is de-cocked or the bolt opened a major safety advantage.

The M 03 Solids distinctive characteristics are a thick barrel profile and full-steel open sights. It plays to its strenghts on longdistance shots as well as on driven hunts which often require a good swing through a fast moving target. The M 03 Trail offers maximum safety and flexibility on driven hunts or when tracking, where thick vegetation challenges both hunter and rifle. Your solid base: the manual cocking system of the M 03 and the M 03 Extremes high-tensile synthetic stock. Thought-out solutions directly respond to the requirements of dynamic hunting. MuzzleSafe protects the barrel against dirt.

By twisting the magazine lock Mag-Safe, the magazine is secured against loss. 3-Dot sights allow for instinctive target acquisition even in adverse lighting conditions. Slingswivels on the muzzle (360 rotating), fore-end and on two positions of the buttstock.

The M 03 Africas excellent balance ensures rapid and intuitive aiming. In order to reduce the recoil of heavy calibers, each M 03 Africa features an extra strong, long barrel and a kick-stop installed in the stock. The M 03 Africa barrel can be chosen as an interchangeable barrel.

The buck horn rear sight with cupro nickel contrast inlay can be adjusted for windage, the front sight with a 4 mm sharp-focus cupro nickel bead can be adjusted for elevation. The sling swivel and the base for the front sight are mounted on the barrel using a steel ring to endure the toughest hunting conditions.

The M 03 Africa PH is fitted to the needs of hunting guides. It is built for strong calibers and at the same time is extremely compact and blends in the professional hunters equipment. Its highly stable synthetic stock with kickstop is colored in natural sand and features anti-slip black inlays. Thanks to the double detachable sling-swivels on the

buttstock and on the front of the fore-end, utmost carrying comfort is provided. Due to a compact overall length, this pro rifle stands the test in daily use. Chamber, trigger and bolt handle are colored in black. Muzzle Safe and Mag Safe perfectly round off the package.

The fore-end tip is the head of a bold eagle, the national emblem of the USA, crafted elaborately by hand in mammoth ivory. The carving of the fine Alpine stock continues the feathers of the majestic ivory head. The grade 7 wood stock captivates with its distinctive tiger stripes. Framed by fine arabesque motifs and feathers, the portrait of the predator is engraved on the magazine base plate. Its shows the golden beak and white head as well as the black feathers of the body. The bolt handle depicts one of the birds claws holding an antique gilded ball.

subtle quality. The caracal, or desert lynx with its characteristic triangular peaks is also part of the cat family, and so is the serval, a black-spotted, medium-sized cat with a small head. Almost all of the metal parts depict typical landscapes featuring African trees, the preferred habitat of many wild cats.

This Mauser M 03 is dominated by African wild cats. A total of six felines are found: from the king of beasts engraved on the pistol grip cap to the genet cat on the back of the sleeve bridge. Two cheetahs lurk on the magazine as they watch for prey, and the leopard picks up the scent on the rifles trigger guard. The cats depicted on the surface of the sleeve are of the same
