Id like to do a language course in England next summer. Good idea! I did a course in Brighton last summer. Where did you study? I studied at the Seafront School of English. Use past simple questions to ask about finished events in the past: Where did you study? Who organised your accommodation? How were the meals? Object questions You often ask questions in the past simple with did. You want information about the object of a sentence. Where did you study? I studied at the Seafront School of English. object Subject questions You can also ask questions about the subject of the sentence. Do not use did with a subject question. Wh organised your accommodation? Someone at the language school organised my accommodation. subject
TIP Remember not to use did with was/were questions (see Unit 36). Say How were the meals? (dont say How did the meals be?)

How long did you travel in Patagonia? We travelled in Patagonia for six months.
