That is why we will present the graduating senior who best represents the values of D Phi E with complimentary CAA membership for her first year. Nominations of any of the women who graduated or will graduate in the 20132014 academic year are currently being accepted from active Epsilon Upsilon sisters. Sunday morning, the weekend will conclude
with breakfast and reburying the time capsule. Consideration has been given to those who are travelling, and no events are planned for Sunday afternoon. If you have any questions about the weekend, please email Sam Barton barton.samantha@yahoo .com. As always, any donations to the chapter would be much appreciated. California Connections: The Delta Phi Epsilon California Alumnae Association Newsletter
Im Kimberly Ann Sweet AKA Minnie, I was in the Delta Sigma class of the EY Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon at Humboldt State and this year I accidentally started my own business. That is not to say that it hasnt been a lot of work. Exhausting, stressful, wonderful, fulfilling work but starting a business wasnt really in my life plan. My husband bought me a camera for my birthday last year and I just loved taking picturesnot of trees or clouds or my Tuesday morning brunch (thats what Instagram is for, right?) I love taking pictures of people. Sisters, families, childrenI love the stories behind each person I get to work with. So I kept on taking pictures and by some stroke of luck people kept asking me to. My experience in DPhiE taught me not to do anything half way so this year I decided to file for my license, fictitious name, and started shopping for insurance. I still love taking pictures and working with clients (especially sisters). Its such a fun way to interact with girls and keep in touch after going alum. I offer a Sorority Special for $50 always have and always will. Im currently trying to get the chapter together for a session at Redwood Park I want to have the letters, balloons, and (of course) glitter. If any local alum would like to be involved please contact me and I will
keep you updated as we set a date. I absolutely LOVE my accidental business I could do without the taxes and paperwork but working with clients and sisters makes it all completely worthwhile. I am so grateful for the professional skills I learned through being a part of DPhiE. The lessons Ive learned and the connections I made through our organization help me every single day and I cant imagine my life without my sisterhood.
