Keeping Up With the Joneses

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word. Acts 8:4 Dear Family & Friends, Acts chapter 2 begins with great persecution of the church at Jerusalem, which forced many believers toe flee for their lives into other regions, cities, and towns. In verse 4 we see that God used what seemed like a tragic event (displacement of many families, loss of jobs, separation from friends and familiarity, and significant expense) to ultimately take the gospel through the surrounding regions. Even though this was a very difficult set of circumstances for these believers, they were faithful and not deterred from sharing the gospel in any way. They bloomed where they were transplanted. As we faithfully follow the Lord, we too will learn to look beyond the present circumstances and seize new opportunities to serve Him. A few days after writing our last letter, the buyer of the Florida property changed his mind and backed out of the sale. While we are again trusting the Lord for the sale, He is providing for us to grow and serve in unexpected ways. Last year the Board approved two more partner ministries in Nigeria. Now through some special income, the Lord is providing the means for us to purchase and outfit Mobile Units for these two ministries. I am planning several much needed trips throughout this year. In June, Joe McDonald (a U.S. partner and Board member) will be traveling to Colombia with me for a week of ministry. As soon as we can get Mobile Units and equipment purchased for Nigeria, I will outfit the Units and train personnel there. Later in the year I plan to travel to India for several weeks to visit with our different ministries and work with their Mobile Units. Meanwhile there is much to do here; preparing for spring/summer ministry, speaking in churches and missions conferences, making new contacts, raising general fund support Our family is doing well, mostly routine. March holds birthdays for grandson, Evan, and son-in-law, Oscar. Timothy & Carolyn will celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary at the end of the month. Stephen is enjoying his recently purchased used motorcycle. Thank you for your support and encouragement. We now believe the Lord has greater things in store for us this year than we envisioned a month or two ago, and we are thankful for so many of you who helped us see beyond our circumstances and seize new opportunities to serve and share Christ.
